Now that Breaking Bad is over, I have good news for all the people who are under apparent Aaron Paul-withdrawal. He is going to be starring in the upcoming movie adaptation of the video game Need for Speed.
I am generally not a huge fan of video game adaptations for the big screen, but I might just make an exception for this one. Seen as I am a huge fan of the Fast & Furious franchise, I can’t really say anything against the concept. As long as the they are entertaining, I don’t see a fault in making movies with simple plotlines, that are more about cars than acting. But after seeing the trailer, I acutally think the movie takes itself pretty seriously, so, I am excited to see the actual outcome.
In Need for Speed muscle car mechanic and street racer Tobey (played by Aaron Paul) gets framed for a crime he didn’t commit. After being released from prison he is determined to get revenge and even the score with the man who’s responsible for his false conviction.
The movie is supposed to come out in March 2014, was directed by Scott Waugh and will be starring: Aaron Paul, Dominic Cooper, Imogen Poots, Kid Cudi, Scott Mescudi, Ramon Rodriguez, Michael Keaton, Rami Malek, Dakota Johnson, Harrison Gilbertson, …
Take a look at the trailer yourself and tell me what you think! Are you excited for it or do you think it was a big mistake to make a movie out of the game?
