Cristina from My Tiny Obsessions has once again done me the honour and tagged me for a Book Tag. I am especially happy that it is The Fandom Book Tag (originally created by Fangirlfashionista) because I am part of so many of those fandoms myself. I’m geeking out just thinking about it! Prepare for awesomeness because this is going to be a loooong post!
DOCTOR WHO: A BOOK WITH A (MOSTLY) BLUE COVER
It’s not TARDIS-blue but Sapphire Blue (Ruby Red Trilogy #2) by Kerstin Gier
MARVEL: A BOOK WITH A (MOSTLY) RED COVER
The Elite (The Selection Series #2) by Kiera Cass.
THE SIMPSONS: A BOOK WITH A (MOSTLY) YELLOW COVER
Hector and the Search for Happiness by Francois Lelord (note to self: should finally watch the movie!)
HARRY POTTER: A BOOK FEATURING MAGIC
I know I’ve mentioned this book so many times, but I just love it! The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
SHERLOCK: A BOOK FEATURING A PSYCHOPATH/SOCIOPATH
Evil Genius by Catherine Jinks. Pretty much everyone in this book is a bit of a psychopath as far as I can remember.
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: A BOOK FEATURING A BADASS HEROINE
Divergent by Veronica Roth, because Tris is badass (and the Divergent series isn’t on this fandom list to my surprise …)
BREAKING BAD: A BOOK REVOLVING AROUND DRUGS
Go Ask Alice by Beatrice Sparks. I had to read this in school, therefore I don’t have the fondest memories of it.
GAME OF THRONES: A BOOK FEATURING DRAGONS
Dragons are not the main part of these books, but the Earthsea Quartet by Ursula Le Guin does feature them.
SUPERNATURAL: A BOOK WHERE THE MAIN CHARACTER COMES BACK TO LIFE
The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud by Ben Sherwood. That book brought me to tears, it’s SO good! (movie is alright …)
CHARMED: A BOOK ABOUT SISTERS
I prefer Audrey Niffenegger‘s The Time Traveler’s Wife, but Her Fearful Symmetry is the one about sisters (twins even).
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: BOOK FEATURING VAMPIRES
The Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris (which is like the “grown-up” version of TVD)
HEROES: A BOOK FEATURING HUMANS WITH POWERS
Another book series that I mention quite often: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi (although you’ll find out more about that in the later parts)
THE FAULT IN OUR STARS: A BOOK ABOUT A CANCER PATIENT
My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult
ONCE UPON A TIME: A BOOK INSPIRED BY FAIRYTALES
Beastly by Alex Flinn is (as you could probably guess already) inspired by Beauty and the Beast.
MERLIN: A BOOK OR SERIES THAT YOU WISH HAD GONE ON LONGER
A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. You may think 13 books is enough, but I assure you, it’s not!
GRIMM: A BOOK THAT FEATURES MONSTERS
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. I think the Hollows and Wights are pretty terrifying!
THE HUNGER GAMES: A BOOK IN WHICH KIDS/TEENAGERS ARE MURDERED OR DIE
The Lying Game by Sara Shepard.
FROZEN: A BOOK THAT TAKES PLACE IN WINTER OR A COLD CLIMATE
Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan takes place in New York City during Christmas time.
THE WALKING DEAD: A BOOK WITH ZOMBIES
Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion.
STAR TREK: A BOOK FEATURING ALIENS OR THAT TAKES PLACE IN SPACE
The Host by Stephenie Meyer
FIREFLY: A BOOK THAT NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT, BUT THAT YOU LOVE
City of Beasts by Isabel Allende. I don’t actually have a clue how popular or not this book is, I just now that I love it!
AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.: A BOOK REVOLVING AROUND AN AGENCY OR A SECRET GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATION
Armada by Ernest Cline. The EDA (Earth Defense Alliance) definitely counts as secret agency of some sort, right?
Questions I couldn’t come up with any books for (I’ve probably read books but couldn’t think of anything):
- PERCY JACKSON: A BOOK BASED ON ANCIENT GREEK MYTHS
- PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: A BOOK IN WHICH PEOPLE GET BLACKMAILED
- FUTURAMA: A BOOK FEATURING ROBOTS
- ORPHAN BLACK: A BOOK ABOUT CLONES/CLONING
- LORD OF THE RINGS:A BOOK FEATURING ELVES
- THE MAZE RUNNER: A BOOK FEATURING AN INCURABLE DISEASE
Turns out this was really difficult because a lot of the times I wanted to use a book that was actually a fandom, but that felt like cheating somehow. If you want to know more about any of the books I chose, just click on the covers and you’ll be re-directed to Goodreads!
Lastly, I tag EVERYONE! This is such a fun tag and there are so many different fandoms represented, so if you want to do the tag, just say I tagged you and link it here so that everyone can see it 😉
OMG! This is brilliant! The gifs are amazing 😀 😀 😀

Thank you! That was actually a lot more work than I thought it would be too hahaha sooooo many fandoms. The ones where I couldn’t think of something right away were just put at the end lol

I know, the first 3 are super easy and then it starts to get complicated, right? Like a book with elfs?! WTF?
LikeLike
I really and honestly doubt that I’ve read one. Fairies yes, but elves … I mean I mainly know them from Lord of the Rings and I explicitly didn’t use any book that existed in the list as fandom.

you were a lot better at that than I was, I was even tempted to use the books within their own fandom… 😛

I can’t blame you! This is super difficult!

😀 I wanted to have known enough for all fandoms, but I didn’t want to put books that I hadn’t read… it was a fun tag 😀 I’m glad you did it

For the Maze Runner option, I’d go with Stephen King’s The Stand.

Cool, I couldn’t really pick that since I haven’t read it hahaha

Well, if you ever do, know it’s rather long.

To be honest, I doubt that I’ll ever pick it up.
