I have done somewhat of a Christmas-tag marathon the past days, but you can all take a breather! This should be the last one for the year … possibly … maybe … depends on whether I get tagged again. However, before I start on this one, I just want to say that I will take a little break on the 24th in terms of blogging. I might already return for the 25th (Doctor Who and Downton Abbey Christmas Special and such), but I also might take a longer break. It all depends on what exactly will go down this Christmas. Either way, I want to use this opportunity to wish you all the happiest of holidays!
Now, the tag! Deanna @A Novel Glimpse tagged me to do the 12 Days of Christmas Book Tag and I am really looking forward to it. Don’t forget to check out her post by clicking on her name! Let’s do this!
On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: a partridge in a pear tree.
The partridge stood alone in the pear tree. What is your favorite stand alone?
A book that definitely doesn’t get enough love from me, but that I really, really enjoyed reading was Attachments by Rainbow Rowell. I love books that have parts in letter or mail conversations!
On the second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: two turtle doves.
Love is in the air! Who is your one true pairing?
MALEC!!! For everyone who’s read the Mortal Instruments, I hope this doesn’t need an explanation!
On the third day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: Three French Hens.
In the spirit of threes, what is the best trilogy you have read?
Hmmm … there were definitely so many good ones! I am so torn between the Infernal Devices and Shatter Me, I am just going to say both!
On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: four calling birds.
Since series usually consist of four or more books, what is your favourite series?
Anna and the French Kiss only has 3 books in the series, but I am hoping for more at some point. There is definitely still room!
On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: five golden rings.
One ring to rule them all! Who is your Favorite Villain/Antagonist?
I am going to have to repeat an answer from a previous tag and say Warner from the Shatter Me series.
On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: six geese a laying.
Creation is a beautiful thing. What is your favourite world/world-building?
I am not as much of a Fantasy-buff as some others out there. I also don’t pay that much attention to world-building. However, I was intrigued by the different courts in A Court of Thorns and Roses and would love to explore that more.
On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: seven swans a swimming.
Who needs seven swans when all it takes is one good animal sidekick? Who’s your favourite animal sidekick?
I guess it’s really bad that I can’t think of a single animal sidekick, right? There must be something, but my mind is just blank. Well, enjoy this adorable and hilarious picture from Tangled instead:
On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: eight maids a milking.
Milk is so 18th century. Which book or series takes beverages/food to a whole new level?
I get really, really hungry just thinking about the Hundred-Foot Journey by Richard C. Morais!
On the ninth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: nine ladies dancing.
Dancing is just one skill of a Lady! Who is your favourite kickass female lead?
Argh! I already mentioned so many books where I like the heroines! Well, I really like Liesel from the Book Thief. She is so young and already smarter than some adults!
On the tenth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: ten lords a leaping.
How about your favourite leading lad?
Marco from the Night Circus is pretty cool! I wouldn’t mind if our fates were intertwined!
On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love sent to me: eleven pipes piping.
What is your favourite book or bookish thing with musical influence? (It can be about music, reference music a lot etc.)
I can’t really think of a book in particular, but I do love soundtrack for books. Last year I even created a Playlist of my own for Break Up Buddy!
On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: 12 drummers drumming.
Drum roll please…what is your favourite read of this year?
Anyone who didn’t think I would say the Martian clearly hasn’t paid attention this year! I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH!
EVERYONE! It’s so close to Christmas and I don’t know who’s done what anymore. So, if you feel like this tag is for you, go ahead! And once again, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
