Today I come to you with the
Sisterhood Siblinghood of the World Bloggers and as per usual, I want to apologise for taking so long. This award week really isn’t easy, but it’s my own fault for taking so much time. I want to thank the lovely ladies who have nominated me, because they are all great and their blogs deserve the attention. So, THANK YOU to Bianca @The Ultimate Fangirl, Morgan @The Secret Diary of a Computer Science Student, Flo @Flowless Books and last but not least Janey @1-800 Books!
1. Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog
2. Put the award logo on your blog
Answer the ten questions you were given (I am going to answer 5 questions each, because 20 is still more than enough!)
Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer
Nominate ten other blogs (Sorry, no nominating today, but award week isn’t over yet. I am out of ideas for questions myself though …)
- Yay or nay? Pick a random character from two books. Did the ship sail or not?
Eric aka The Huntsman from Snow White and the Huntsman (yep, I have that as a book too) and Tris Prior from Insurgent – I kind of ship it! I mean Tris is a little like Snow was in the movie and I guess I can see it? Both have the fight in them, that’s for sure … it is still an odd crossing of worlds. Poor Four though …
- If you could hang out with a book blogger/booktuber for a day, who would they be?
I would love to meet so many people from this community, that I don’t even know where to start. So, instead I am choosing something more abstract. If I could spend the day with any booktuber (since I don’t really know any of them), I would want it to be with Natasha @Tashapolis. She is the master of fangirling and I think that she is therefore very compatible with me.
- Latest on musical charts, what music do you often listen to?
I said that I am quite addicted to BANNERS the other day and I don’t like repeating myself. However, in preparation for my attendance of the Hozier concert next month, I have started listening to a lot of songs from his opening act Rhodes and I love them all!
- Friends or How I Met Your Mother?
I love both shows, but I am still angry at the ending of HIMYM, so I say FRIENDS!
- How did blogging affect you as a person?
I think it made me feel like I have a purpose and like my opinion matters, which is a glorious feeling. Even when people in “real” life don’t always share my obsessions (bookish or otherwise), I know that there is a place I can turn to. And even if we don’t always agree, there is room for discussion and that generally made me more confident in myself.
- Does a particular smell trigger any memories? What smell?
The smell of wood always makes me think of my grandpa, because he used to work with it so much.
- That feeling when your stomach flips a little, with excitement, or love: do you still/have you ever felt that?
I never have felt it in terms of love, but I have felt it with excitement. It’s a strange feeling and when it turns to anxiety and not excitement anymore, then it has the tendency to become a little nauseating.
- Can you cook?
Yes, I can! I went to a school for tourism and economy, where we had 6 hours of cooking class every week and even some ridiculously difficult finals. I am not the best cook on the planet, but I definitely know my way around the kitchen. I think I was just always lacking the creativity for it. I much rather bake, even though I am not master at that either!
- What is your dream job?
There are so many interesting jobs out there, but I would either like to be part of the marketing team of a publishing company or work in a casting studio or agency.
- Is there anything you’d choose to change about yourself?
I am thankfully at a point in my life where I am really happy with who I am, but if I could change something, I would choose to turn off my anxiety sometimes. I get so darn nervous about everything even though I really don’t want to, up to a point where I want to throw up because I feel so sick. I could definitely live without that!
- What’s your favorite read for 2015?
- What is your reading nook?
I mostly read on my bed where I have tons of blankets. It’s a little challenging to drink or snack at the same time, because there is nowhere to put it, but maybe that’s for the better.
- Which book would you like to be adapted?
I want The Night Circus to be adapted like ASAP! I know that it’s difficult to do it the right way, but they’ve been talking about it for ages, time to finally do something!
- Hardbacks or paperbacks?
I mostly own paperbacks, because they are simpler to handle, cheaper and less heavy, but I think that hardcover books are prettier. So, this wasn’t a real answer at all I am afraid …
- Tea, Coffee or chocolate?
Always and forever Team Tea! However, I do enjoy a hot chocolate every now and then.
- Books or movies? (which do you prefer?)
Books! I am not that big on movies … now if the question had been books or TV shows, then the answer might have been different.
- Do book covers play any part in your book selection (when buying books)?
They play a big part in my book selection. A pretty cover gets my attention in the first place, because it is very unlikely I will even pick up the book to read the blurb if I hate the look of it. However, if a trusted source recommends it, I might still read it.
- Have you ever not finished a book? If so, why?
I have, even though I mostly vow to finish them at some point. It’s either that I wasn’t in the right mood for the story or that the writing wasn’t for me. For example, I always have trouble concentrating on classics and I abandon them for the sake of other books I am more interested in, yet this says nothing about their quality.
- Do you have a set blogging calendar, or do you just post stuff whenever?
I have certain days for certain posts, such as TTT, T5W or my Trailer posts on Sundays. Other than that it is really random.
- Is there a book or movie that you’ve anticipated so much, but just ended up disappointed after its release?
I guess the answer for that is Shadowhunters. That really was a disappointment for me.
I hope this was fun for you! I will of course not only post about awards in the upcoming week, but I am trying to schedule them all this week to get it done as soon as possible. Fingers crossed that I won’t let them build up like this again!
