It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday post, which is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish, if you want to know more about it, you can just click on the name! Here’s what she had in mind:
This week is all about music & books. We previously did books we’d give theme songs to so feel free to do that! Or 10 songs I wish that were books (check out my love songs I wish were books for an example of what I mean)
It sounds like a really cool idea and I always love to share some of my favourite songs! I am not sure how exactly to explain why I would want them to be books. The lyrics or maybe the music video were probably the reason, I’ll just leave it at that for now.
I Found by Amber Run
Falling for your kidnapper? Classic story! There’s another music video that continues the story, but it leaves on a cliffhanger and I would love to know what comes afterwards!
Nature Boy by AURORA
AURORA’s voice is magical! It makes everything sound enchanted and surreal and I know that she only covers the song, but it makes me that much more intrigued about the story from the lyrics.
Bloodsport by Raleigh Ritchie
I don’t really know how to explain this. I could see a story about a poisonous relationship though.
Magnets by Disclosure feat. Lorde
This would be such a good revenge story! Put some more background info on all the characters in it and voila – new book!
From Eden by Hozier
You’ve just watched the video, right? I apparently seem to have a knack for people who connect to their abductors.
Wildest Dreams by Taylor Swift
TayTay always has really great music videos and this one seem cool, set in old-fashioned Hollywood-ish times. Love between colleagues, regret and longing – I am totally in!
The Stranger by Lord Huron
A stranger appearing in someone’s life. Do they know each other? Suddenly they are both in danger and need to trust each other to get out of the mess.
Katie Queen of Tennesee by The Apache Relay
A tale of unrequited love – who is this Katie person? Is the guy really in love with her or only with the idea of her?
Let It All Go by BIRDY + RHODES
I imagine a heartbreaking love story, but it’s set in some sort of fantastical realm. Definitely not just a normal contemporary, yet something that pulls on your heartstrings like crazy!
Half Light by BANNERS
People drifting apart from each other, one of them is changing and the other one doesn’t understand what’s happening. They aren’t realising the full potential of who they could be.
My explanations aren’t the most detailed, so if you want to discuss bookish ideas, I’d love to do that in the comments. What are some songs you would like to see extended in form of a book? Did you know/like/dislike some of my examples? Don’t hesitate to share a link to your TTT below!
Your novel ideas for these wonderful songs are awesome, Kat! 😀 😀 😀 Especially for Wildest Dreams!

Thanks! That’s really mostly to Swift’s credit or whoever makes up her video ideas hahaha

Well that is true. 🙂

God I know none of these songs. Lol. The kidnapper book sounds fun though. I hope there’s one out there

Don’t worry! Barely anyone listens to the stuff I listen to. I’m very into Indie music or bands that are featured on soundtracks but aren’t really known by themselves.

I love Aurora and Rhodes ❤
I was about to include that track by Birdy and Rhodes in my Top Ten, it is a gorgeous song with really pretty lyrics.
Nice list! Very eclectic 🙂

Me too! I can’t wait for Aurora’s album to finally drop next month!
And Rhodes will be the opening act for the concert I go to next week. I am so psyched!

Niiiiiice! I’m so jelly 🙂 Which concert is it?
I saw Aurora last summer in a festival and it was all kinds of MAGIC ❤

I love everything about your post. I love the musics, I added at least 5 new ones to my playlist :D. also, awesome ideas 😉

Thank you :D!
I am glad we share a similar taste in music. The ideas are all due to the song lyrics or people who made the videos – it’s really them!

This is such a great idea, I’ve saved their list of top ten Tuesday because there’s some really unique lists on there. I loved your list, I’d not heard of the majority of these songs but they sounded really good and I agree with you that I now want to know more!

TTT has really brought up some great ideas for lists! I am glad you liked my song selection. I do listen to mainstream music but most of my iPod consists of songs none of my friends have ever heard about hahaha

Lovely songs, and I love the plot prompts you added below each track. I’d read them all in a blink 🙂

Happy to hear it! Maybe I’ll write one of the stories myself one day 😀

I’d be sure to look out for that! 😀

These are such good suggestions, and I’m so happy that someone’s suggested From Eden – I was really toying between whether to include this, or Sedated in my TTT because they’re both just so well-written and I would love to read an extended novel inspired from them both! Also, I love the variety of music you’ve included – I mean Taylor Swift, to Amber Run – you’ve covered it all!!
I’ll leave a link to my response of this week’s TTT, but don’t feel obliged to check it out, honestly!

I really loved this week’s theme as it was so interesting to see what styles of music people are into, and to think of some of my favourite songs in a different light by reading others’ blogs 🙂 *confetti*
(PS: For your Magnets suggestion (which I looooooveeee), I think you may have mistyped and written Disclosure, and Magnets the wrong way round. No biggie, just thought I’d point it out in case you want to change it 😛 )

Uuuh, Sedated is a really good choice too! I’ll make sure to check out your TTT post once I get back from work 😉
And thanks for pointing that out! I was veeeery tired when I wrote the post and my brain probably scrambled it up.
I really enjoyed this week’s theme as well! I got to share my music and see or rather hear what others like. It’s great!

I checked again, but they have Disclosure by Magnets ft. Lorde writte on the video title as well.

Ooh, these are some awesome songs you’ve introduced me to! I would LOVE to see the fantasical realm in Let it All Go – it seems so beautiful! Whooaaaa and I Found seems like an interesting story!

RIGHT!? The red land and the starry night with northern lights – it just looks so beautiful!!!
I forgot the title of the second video that i like the continuation of I Found, but it does exist. Ends on a cliffhanger though …

NOOOO @ cliffhanger!! I think I would be devastated if that were a book, hehe.

It’s like a trilogy and they simply forgot to ever release the last book in the series hahaha

I LOVE Wildest Dreams, and that video clip is perfect ❤ I could totally see what kind of book it would become. And Half-Light…I am OBSESSED with that song, thank you The Royals for that, ahah. I almost put it on my list this week. Your story idea for that one is perfect, when are you going to write it? :p
I don't know the other songs -shame on me-, but I'll listen to them !! 😀

No worries for not knowing all the songs! I have a weird taste in music, not even my friends know half the bands I listen to 😀 Tell me which ones you like best when you have the time 😉
Hahaha Not sure when I’ll be able to write any of these, but maybe some of them would be good for a short story as writing practice?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I’ll make sure to tell you, I need to listen to all of these ❤ Oh yes, that'd be good to practice! We should coach each other, I want to write so badly these days… Or, there's Camp NaNo starting in April, if you want to participate 🙂

I’ll see how my work schedule is for Camp NaNo but we could definitley try to be CPs for each other either way.

Yes we should! I hate not having a lot of free time these days, I feel like revising my NaNo story and writing tons 😦 I’ll have to see for camp NaNo, too, anyway 🙂

A song I would turn into a book is “Emperor’s New Clothes” by Panic! at the Disco. If you’ve seen the video for it, you know why.

I actually don’t think I’ve heard of any of these songs (not from the titles anyway). This is an interesting Top Ten. Here’s mine!
Pirate on the Run by Train: It’s a good song and love story. I think it might be cool to read about!
Save the Day by Train: I think it would make another great love story. The song is about a guy not wanting to be Superman, but wanting to be the best guy possible for his loved one.
Fading by Jewel: While not the happiest song, it’s about Jewel experiencing a panic attack. It might make a good read for those who struggle with anxiety and other mental health issues.
Who Will Save Your Soul by Jewel: A great song about the world that might just make a great book and story as well!
New Wild West by Jewel: This would make a great political story about the issues with the world.
50 Ways to Leave Your Lover by Paul Simon: A song about ways to leave your lover, it might be funny if done right. I can just see a story about a guy comically trying to find ways out of a relationship. As long as it wasn’t done in a rude way, it might be funny.
Come Together by The Beatles: While the song may not be the easiest to interpret, it might be interesting to read about a bunch of different people and their personalities.
Imagine by John Lennon: It’s a great song about a world without prejudice, reason for war, etc. It could make great book!
Detective by No Doubt: A love turned sour song that would make an interesting heartbreak story.
Just a Girl by No Doubt: This would make a good story about the oppression of women/a woman finding herself.

Interesting list! I definitely see your taste in music there with some interprets appearing several times! Definitely great ideas!

Let it all Go. ❤ I absolutely love that song and it would definitely make for an epic book. Admittedly there are quite a few artists here that I've not heard about so thanks for sticking them on my radar. 😀

I totally would have picked that song (assuming you mean the one by James Bay and not the one from Frozen), but I cannot associate it with anything other than Jaspenor (from the Royals) angst.
I have a very eclectic taste in music hahaha not even my closest friends have heard of all of those.

Wildest Dreams would be an interesting book! Heck, they should just make one from all of her songs.

So true! She has some great material for longer stories.

I imagine Wildest Dreams would be a Historical Fiction novel as well. That book would be so interesting!
I think Run The World (Girls) would be a great dystopian as well were women ruled over men.

I really like your idea for Run the World (Girls)! You said it and I could immediately imagine it!

Your music taste is perfect! I hadn’t heard of Half Light until now and it’s so beautiful. I’m sure it’ll be on replay for the next few days. And from your preference… please tell me you love Of Monsters and Men! I’ve discovered them for a while now but have really been into relistening to them lately. Thanks for sharing this post, Kat! 🙂
