I had a VERY ambitious TBR last month and I think I didn’t do all that bad to be honest! Despite work, despite me wanting to catch up on TV shows, despite everything that has happened – I read 7 books! That’s quite neat, right? Let’s check out what I originally planned and what I actually read.
- Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard (3.5 stars)
- A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab (4 stars)
- Firewalker by Josephine Angelini (4 stars)
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
Okay, that book has been sitting on my shelf and taunting me for almost the entire month, but I really do want to read it with Cristina and Cátia and somehow the mail service messed up because Cátia still doesn’t have her copy … It’s torture!- Kindred Spirits by Rainbow Rowell (4 stars)
Splintered, Unhinged and Ensnared by A.G. Howard
For this one there simply wasn’t time. That happens! Also, I may or may not buddy read the first book in the series with Marie. That would be so much fun! Our buddy reads are always hilarious with us just freaking out over Twitter. The Shannara Chronicles: The Elfstones of Shannara by Terry Brooks
Honestly, I am just not over what happened on the show and I am really scared of what’s in the book now. I am not sure I can relive a certain thing twice within a short time span.
Other books that weren’t on the list:
- Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli (4.5 stars)
- The Siren by Kiera Cass (4.2 stars)
- Ghetto by M.L. Sparrow (4 stars)
As always, click on the titles above to get to the reviews (or on the name of the people I read the books with, to get to their reviews) and on the covers to be redirected to Goodreads!
In a very rare event, I got to meet Nicholas Sparks for the briefest of moments. I have read more than 10 books written by him and I know that he is famous worldwide, so I didn’t really expect to encounter him in Vienna one day, but it happened. It was brief and there was no chance of asking or saying anything to him, but it was still such a cool experience. Read my post about it here!
I got my first book swag!!! It was so cool to actually get something relevant in the mail and I just took the letter with me to work.
I am shamelessly taking pictures on the train right now, but I am just so happy! Thanks again @KatieMcGarry!!! 😄🎉💖 pic.twitter.com/U1XNt7TFDp

It was a really neat letter by Katie McGarry, a bookmark and ribbons with quotes from the Thunder Road books. I loved it! And speaking of that particular series, you can now win a copy of the first book – Nowhere But Here! Because you crazy people whom I adore like no one else have made it to 500 Followers here on WordPress! As a little Thank You, I have organised a Giveaway, which you can check out here!

How was your month? What books did you read and which ones did you love the most? Did something out of the ordinary happen? Tell me all about it!
You did a great job this month even with the lack of free time 😀
I think we should riot against the post office here so I can get my book. Lady Midnight was dispatched almost 3 weeks ago and it’s still not here.

Thank you! I think so too and some of those books were really long!
We should! I know that it’s not TBD’s fault, but maybe if you send them a mail? They could track it right? Because when we track it via TBD it only says dispatched but not where exactly it is …

I know it’s not their fault too. They dispatched it so it’s a problem with the mail. I’m planning on sending them an e-mail tomorrow if I don’t get it until then. I hope they can track it.

I hope so too! It’s just not fair to you that the mail mucked that up.

Yeah. If I knew it would be like this I wouldn’t have pre-order it. I could have bought it in a physical store here because I already saw the book in there

I thought the same when I saw a whole tower of LM in the store the other day…

Wow, well I think that despite work and everything, you managed to have such a great blogging and reading month! 😀 And yes, I really want to read Splintered with you, hopefully we can, soon! I still have, hm, 4 books on my physical TBR, so I can read two and then feel less guilty about buying some new ones 😀

Thanks, I think it went well too! Just 3 books below what I intended to read, so I am all good.
YES, buddy reading will be fun! I have a couple books I still need to read and authors have been contacting me, I should get back to them about eArcs as well.

you did awesome this month, and I’m so happy you finally picked up Simon, and that it was your favorite read of the month 😀 😀 :D. As soon as Cátia gets her book, we’re so attacking Lady Midnight!

Thank you! I really think this month went great and I am glad I finally got around to reading Simon.
Cátia said she might get her book on Monday! CAN’T WAIT!

yeah. it was unusual. I would be going insane if my book was lost for 3 weeks…

Me too! I would have complained with TBD (even though I am well aware that it’s not their fault) like a week ago hahaha

yep. i’m just glad it came before she left 😀

Don’t think I’ve read a single book on your list, lol. I won’t be reading Glass Sword, I know that much. The first book just did nothing for me. My March Wrap-Up

You did great this month Kat, I’m also glad i’m not the only one left that hasn’t read Lady Midnight yet haha!
I’m anxiously waiting for it to arrive, its been a week now so I hope it gets here soon and for Catia too!

Thank you 😀 I was surprised to actually have read that much to be honest.
You are not alone with LM and I am keeping my fingers crossed for you to get your copy soon as well!!!

Seven books is great especially with being busy and everything!
I hope you get to Splintered soon, I really want to know your view on it as it was a solid four stars to me when I read it a while back.

I definitely want to read it in April and things are looking good for it to happen with Marie ordering it soon 🙂

I’ve been wanting to watch more TV and catch up on TV shows more in March than read too. That’s awesome that you were still able to read seven books.

You had a great month! Congrats on 500 followers and for your first swag! 😀 I have been wanting to read Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda for so long adn I’m happy to see that you liked it!
The Shannara Chronicles ending was quite shocking and I can’t wait for next season!
Hope you have a great April as well! 😀

Wow 7 books is pretty good! That’s a good reading month. I’m lucky if I manage 4 books. Glad you enjoyed Simon Vs. Homo Sapiens Agenda! Such a cute book 🙂 I love Cassandra Clare’s books and have heard so many great things about Lady Midnight but surprisingly, I think I’m going to give it a miss. I’ve kind of lost interest in the shadowhunter world lol.

Thank you! I am quite proud of being so far ahead on my reading challenge for this year.
You lost interest in the Shadowhunter world :O? WOW! I mean, that’s totally okay hahaha you are probably not alone in that, but I just got more excited knowing that this new series is about parabatai. Those relationships were always the most intriguing to me in the previous books.

Yeah :O I was planning to read it but I guess I’m not in the mood for it. But then again I may succumb to the hype! Just like I did with TID and ended up loving that trilogy more then TMI! Yes I agree.

I loved TID more than TMI too! I wasn’t ever going to pick it up in the beginning, but here I am now, loving it like almost nothing else in the Shadowhunter world. Well, I will tell you if I like it btter than TID afterwards 😉

Oooh I’m glad you loved Kindred Spirits! I haven’t seen much reviews about it yet unlike when Carry On came out. Rainbow Rowell’s books are either a hit or a miss for me. I will try that soon! 😀

I have a feeling that not a lot of people are bothering with a review for Kindred Spirits, because it is SO short hahaha
