You know you are behind on your tags when multiple people tag you for the same thing hahaha but no, seriously, thank you so much to The Orang-utan Librarian for creating this awesome tag and including me to do it and also for Joey @Thoughts and Afterthoughts for tagging me as well. With the show being back now, I HAD to do get around to The Ultimate Game of Thrones Tag rather sooner than later.
RULES
- Mention the creator Orang-utan Librarian so they can see all your your answers
- Answer all the questions
- Tag people and keep it going!
Part 1: Book Questions
“We do not sow”- A book you would not be willing to invest in
So, recently the banishment on Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler has been lifted, but it is a book I would never touch. Not for research or any other reason. I am not interested getting any insight into that man’s head.
“Fire and blood”- A book that produced strong emotions in you
I assuming that it is no news to anyone that Red Rising did quite the number on me. Many books have let me feel sadness or joy, but Red Rising produced a sort of anger I was not used to before. I can still remember my hands shaking because I was furious
“Winter is coming”- Your favourite winter read
I don’t know what exactly constitutes a winter read, but Landline makes me think of Christmas … so, there’s that!
“Family. Duty. Honour.”- A book about strong family ties
When I think of family, one of my favourite literary families comes to mind – the Garretts from My Life Next Door. Can’t get over how great they are!
“Growing strong”- A book you had low expectations of but that grew on you
Before starting Anything You Want, I read the author’s statement on Goodreads. He had gotten a couple of bad reviews and DNFing ones, so I was keeping my expectations really low, but in the end you can’t help but love Taco. It’s one of those books you just have to stick with!
“Ours is the fury”- A book that made you furious
Well, I already mentioned Red Rising above, so I am just going to go with Golden Son, the sequel, now.
“Unbowed. Unbent.Unbroken.”- A book you have unwavering devotion to
The Martian! How else could it be? If I could have a Mark Watney in my life, I totally would!
“A Lannister always pays his debts”- A book you feel indebted to
This is going to sound odd, but I feel really indebted to The Hunger Games. I read those books when I was still in High School and I was absolutely terrified of that one teacher who tormented me in my last two years. That book sort of gave me strength. Just having it near me helped calm my nerves. I channeled my inner Katniss Everdeen!
Part 2: Fan Theories
Who do you want to win Game of Thrones?
I think I am part of a very popular opinion here, where I want Dany and/or Jon to rule together. Tyrion should be the hand, because while I do love him, I am not sure he really has the makings of a King or that he even wants that burden.
Who do you think will make it to the end and who do you think will die?
Where to start??? I already mentioned that I want Dany, Jon and Tyrion alive with the previous statement. Sansa has to live and go off and lead a quiet life with her very kind and non-abusive husband (he does not have to look good, we are beyond that stage). The rest of the Starks better survive too, maybe a little romancing between Arya and Genry – whereever that guy is now. I want Jamie and Brienne to be reunited in the end. Cersei, the Boltons and Greyjoys can go off to die (although I am wavering in terms of Theo. He may yet live). I want Tommen to survive too, for Jamie’s sake, but he has to renounce the throne. The Sparrow and his stupid followers can vanish from that realm as well. Daario I’d let live, but I doubt it. Maybe Littlefinger will survive also. Podrick and Hodor shall survive us all!
Part 3: My Game of Thrones
Would you win or die?
Ha! I have no survival skills at all! I definitely wouldn’t win, I am not cunning enough for that … but, maybe I would still live by the end. Scarred and traumatized, but alive? (That’s just wishful thinking. I would probably be one of the first to die, maybe even in a really ridiculous and not heroic way)
What house are you?
I’m using this quiz, which was used by the Orang-utan Librarian as well and I got: HOUSE STARK!! Wohooo, love them so much! Although the description doesn’t make me any more confident in surviving that realm:
The good news is, you’re a thoroughly decent human being. The bad news is, that is a very dangerous thing to be in Westeros. You are loyal, dutiful, and generally ill at ease among the toxic politics of King’s Landing. Either buckle down and learn to play the game, or get the hell out into more hospitable environments. The North may be freezing, but it also has notably less backstabbing which, bless your little heart, is not exactly your strong suit.
Good news though, I’d probably get a direwolf, so yay to that!
I TAG
- Amber @YA Indulgences
- Aria @Aria Stuck in Wonderland
- Dee @Bookish Khaleesi
- Morgan @The Rose Quartz
- EVERYONE
I vaguely remember taking the house quiz myself and I think I got either Stark or Lannister. The only reason I’d want to be Lannister is Tyrion but that’s about it. I don’t watch the show, but I’ve read the first two books.

Well, Lannisters aren’t all bad. They are definitely very smart. The show is really great, but also pretty gruesome.
LikeLiked by 1 person
I’m definitely going to watch the show in the future, once I’m a bit older, since there’s nudity and stuff. They are smart, but I don’t care for any of them except Tyrion. That could change once I read the other books, though.

Oh, I have no idea how old you are! Sorry! But yes, the content is very mature.

Hey sorry just saw this lol. I’m 15. My parents don’t care if I watch it but it bothers me, so I’ll probably just watch it in a few years. I want to read all the books first anyway.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Well, then be prepared. The book is just as sex and violence filled and it’s even more weird at times, because the characters are so young
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah. I’m not really bothered when I’m reading it (plus I can skim over it), but I am always really uncomfortable when it’s on-screen and I’m watching it.

OMG I love this tag! Totally need to do it!

Go ahead 😀

Wow, that’s quite an amazing tag indeed. I’ll consider doing it because I love Game of Thrones too ❤
I'm definitely with you on the fan theory. It's the most boring and predictable, but also the one that would make me happiest. 😀
LikeLiked by 1 person
Please, feel free to do it! It’s so difficult to tag everyone, especially since I wasn’t sure who’s into GoT and who isn’t.

I want a direwolf!!!! Haha thanks for the tag Kat!! I can’t wait to do it! (:

Direwolves are the best!!! ❤ You're welcome 😉

This tag is AWESOME! Omg the GoT lover in me is fangirling so hard right now. ❤
And I agree with you on all of your theories, because Dany is bae and Jon Snow is… well JON SNOW! And I hate Cersei, ughh!
LikeLiked by 1 person
You should totally do the tag as well if you want to 😀
Cersei is the worst person. There are other one’s who are also the worst person, so, all things are relative in that realm I suppose hahaha

I will 😁
Yes you’re right 😂 A lot of those in the 7 kingdoms and beyond hahaha

Oh, if only I had more time. I might do this tag. Also, I took that quiz, and I’m a Martell. Not bad. Dorne sounds like a pretty swanky place. And if Dany ever gets over the sea, I’d raise my flag for her in an instant.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah, Martell isn’t bad at all. I like the North though, so I am all good. And I love wolves, so that’s even more of a plus.

Oh, because I love warm weather. I admit, it has its downsides, but I prefer them to being cold all the time.

It sounds so dramatic when I say I am allergic to sun, but whenever I was in really hot countries (like Turkey for example), I tended to get super itchy rash everywhere my skin was exposed to the sun a lot. Not fun!

Ooh, that does sound unpleasant. By the way, downloaded Morning Star. Can’t wait to start!

Little wolf babies! And aren’t scary teachers the worst! I’m glad it helped you get though it. I channelled HP for my snape. Only my snape was actually evil. 😥 Loved this tag.

Hahaha Channeling Snape was a really good idea as well though 😉 evil or not.

Let’s enjoy the moment. ALSO, the fact that Hodor used to talk?! What’s with that, I am sure there’s something hidden there… suspicious.

Oh definitely! Poor Hodor must have been traumatised at some point in his life. He would survive everyone though, I am sure.

Yay!! So glad you did this!! Wow Mein Kampf is a good choice- I would never pay for that book- even if the proceeds went somewhere good- it would just be too disturbing. That being said, I’ve read bits of it and it’s the best indictment against Hitler and nazism there is (apart from the obvious). (Sorry that got a bit heavy)
Ooh I need to read Landline at some point! Oh wow that’s amazing about hunger games! Yay- so glad you’re on board with the Dany/Jon/Tyrion dream team. And Sansa has to be happy- I agree with you about that- I always hoped she’d go off and marry the nice one at high garden but he’s not in the show. Ooh Gendry and Arya romance- I like it! In a way it would be a kindness for theon to die at this point (in my opinion) after he hopefully gets some redemption. Yes to Podrick and Hodor!! They need to survive! And down with the Sparrow!
Whoo congrats on being one of the good guys!! I love the starks!!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Everything WWII related gets easily very heavy. Seen that I am also from Austria, that whole topic is just something that often makes it even heavier.
I wanted Sansa to go and marry the nice Tyrell one as well! I thought that would have probably made her way happier in the end. I would kind of like to see her interact with Jon now. She was always really stuck up to him and I wonder if the past events have changed her view on him. (That reminds me that I saw so many people shipping them and I can’t get over how weird that feels, even if I do believe in the theory that he’s her cousin and not half-brother).
Gendry and Arya totally would have worked 😀
Theon … yeah, you are right. I just still don’t know how I feel about him. I used to hate the guy, but ever since the whole Reek-story, I am just so, so sorry for him. I want something nice to happen to him (even though that’s highly unlikely)
Yes 🙂 I was actually surprised to get the Starks, but I am super happy about it.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Well that’s true- and I get that, I’m Jewish, so yeah, it’s a bit of a downer- and Mein Kampf isn’t exactly on my “100 books to read before I die”
That would be amazing! I can imagine it would have- which is why I like the character- of all of them she’s developed the most. Ughh no! Not even as a cousin- that would be gross!! Like Fanny and Edmund in Mansfield Park gross! They treated each other like brother and sister and they are related anyway- it’s just. not. good.
That would have been so nice! It was always my theory until they wrote him out of the show
It really would! And still could!
Yeah I feel the same way about Theon/Reek- I definitely feel sorry for him. And I do want him to get a happy ending in terms of a redemption- but I don’t see him being happy as long as he’s alive- so I think he deserves a good death.
That’s good! I’d have been happy with the Starks too! They’re my second favourite house (after the Targaryens cos I’m a sucker for dragons- duh :p )
LikeLiked by 1 person
Right? That’s why Sansa and Jon would be SO weird! They grew up as brother and sister, just no!
Yeah, Theon has too many demons that haunt him.
Hahaha I get your love for the Targaryens! I have a notebook of their house. It’s so gorgeous! It’s black with their motto and sigil and scaled like the skin of a dragon.

I know!! It’s so gross!!
Exactly
Oh wow!!! That sounds incredible!!! Where’d you get that?

I bought it at Waterstones on my visit to Cardiff in Wales. I have no idea where else one might acquire one … HBO store?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oh wow- what a find! I have no idea- I’ve never seen a HBO store (do those exist?) Good thing there’s god-knows-how-many Waterstones within walking distance from my work. Or I could go to Forbidden Planet I suppose- if it exists in London it’ll be there. This calls for a treasure hunt! (sorry you are hearing my thought processes :p )
LikeLiked by 1 person
There are no physical HBO shops, they exist online though ahaha

That’s quite all right- I found a whole selection discounted in Forbidden Planet- if you’re ever in London you *need* to check it out- it’s heaven for your inner fangirl :p (and no this is not an ad and no I do not work there :p )

I have been to Forbidden Planet. Pretty much bought up their entire stock of Big Bang Theory mystery minis hahaha (they only had 3 left, so it wasn’t that much of a buying spree)

Though I am oblivious to all of the GoT fangirling that is happening around me, I enjoyed reading your answers!
Interesting how you said you would never read Mein Kampf but I would really liked to read it as Hitler was a very twisted, evil man I guess reading this book will help us understand how his mind work. This is like the origin of one of the most evil people in the world so I would like to read this (I hope that doesn’t sound as twisted and odd as it does in my head!).
And OMG that is the greatest thing a book can do to a reader- give you strength. I don’t know where they get evil teachers seriously!
LikeLiked by 1 person
I don’t blame you for wanting to read Mein Kampf, but you have to understand that I am from Austria, Hitler’s birth country. We talked about WWII in every history class every. single. year. We went to concentration camps and when possible even talked to people who were alive during the time. We got drilled on all things WWII, because people are so freaking scared of it happening again and since Austria was the first country that got annexed and there really is no way we can realistically say that people weren’t happy about it back then, that whole thing is a little bit of a sore topic.
LikeLiked by 1 person
In that context I can totally see why you never want to read such a book. It’s still such a raw topic for the whole world but particularly in countries like your own and Germany.

Thanks for getting it 😀

This is so good! I love it :D. Your answers are so so similar to mine. I’m absolutely loving the new series. I’m just ALWAYS excited for the next episode.
Thank you for the tag!

Hahaha my answers were very similar to other people’s as well. I think there is a consensus among most fans and about who they like or don’t like.
😀 I love that I absolutely don’t know what’s going to happen next on the show now that they are independent form the books. It’s awesome 😀

Yes, me too!! It’s so exciting that we’re all in this together now. Me and Matt are constantly discussing theories and watching theory videos on YouTube – we need help :p. The latest theory we saw was that Tyrion is the third “dragon” with Jon and Dany being the other too. Honestly, as long as those 3 (and Podrick) live, I’m good! :D.
