It’s time for Top 5 Wednesdays, a weekly meme created by gingerreadslainey and hosted by Sam @ThoughtsOnTomes. If you want to know more or join as well, just go to the Goodreads group by clicking here. Now, after YALLWEST there are more book events coming, such as BEA and BookCon. This is truly the time when I hate being an international bookworm … it’s torture seeing so many lovely people going and you can’t be one of them. BUT ONE DAY I SHALL BE THERE TOO! Until then, time for dreams and hopes, so here are authors I would have loved to meet at BEA/BookCon this year!
So, I guess my choices were a bit predictable but WHATEVER!
- Tahereh Mafi & Ransom Riggs – those two are like a package deal. I would be there for Tahereh’s writing more than Ransom’s, but seeing them together will be fabulous still. Maybe I could pick Ransom’s brain on his book getting adapted for the big screen. I know that he didn’t get much say, but they tried to involve him, so that must have been cool!
- Cassandra Clare – again, this should not be a surprise, because I talk about the Shadowhunter world all. the. freaking. time! Apparently she was even in Vienna two years back and I missed her. I am still devastated about that one.
- Pierce Brown – okay, why do I even attempt explaining this? He is hilarious and smart and good-looking (which isn’t the main reason I would want to meet him, but it also doesn’t hurt) and he has written one of my all time favourite series. I need to annoy him with questions about Darrow and Sevro! I just have to!
- Victoria Aveyard – I shall forget all about Glass Sword, except the Maven moments and then talk about him and him alone with her for hours. I want to know what’s up with him and how his character is going to do in the future books!
- Morgan Matson – I have read all her books so far and have liked them as well (except for The Unexpected Everything, which is ready for pick-up at the store and shall be devoured soon), why wouldn’t I want to meet her?
Who are some authors you would love to meet this year? Are you by any chance going to a book event of some kind?
I also put Victoria Aveyard on my list! Love the Red Queen series.

I loved Red Queen too, I am a little less enthusiastic about Glass Sword, but I am looking forward to the rest of the series nonetheless.

PIERCE BROWN YAS! I mean, even though I met him back in February (and he is as funny and good looking as everyone says by the way), I would love to see him again!
If I met Aveyard I would be having to keep myself in check before I start shaking her and demanding her to tell me what happens to Maven in the third book!

You know that I am still jealous of you for getting to meet him. I just have to be contempt with stalking his insta account and that’s not nearly the same hahahaha
I hear you on Aveyard. Maven and everything surrounding him is really the burning question for me.

I would love to meet Cassie and Tahereh and Pierce Brown, obviously, because he’s hilarious, and fun and hot and I would just like to look at him! 😛
Victoria Aveyard is so funny on twitter.

Victoria is hilarious! And I know she probably wouldn’t tell me anything about Maven, but this a dream-scenario anyway, so I demand answers on that matter hahaha

glad to see your interest in Maven didn’t diminish after Glass Sword 😉

I got to meet Victoria Aveyard at YALLWEST, and she was super nice! And gosh, I’m jealous of everyone who gets to go to BEA. But I think I’m going to save up so I can go next year!

So cool!!! Both that you got to meet Victoria and that you went to YALLWEST. I am jealous of everyone who even lives remotely close to those book cons.

I actually don’t live close. I was down there visiting my Grandpa and YALLWEST happened to be the same weekend

He got voted as Hottest YA Author of 2014 or so hahaha (by Buzzfeed, so totally not legit, but I wouldn’t argue with them, except on the YA part … his work is a lot more adult).

hahaha on this occasion I’m not gonna argue with them!

Ransom and Tahereh are ultimate OTP, there’s no doubt about it.
I need to read more Morgan Matson, I’ve only read Amy and Roger so far but I loved it!
