With all the wrap ups and TBRs, I almost forgot that it’s time for Top 5 Wednesdays, a weekly meme created by gingerreadslainey and hosted by Sam @ThoughtsOnTomes. If you want to know more or join as well, just go to the Goodreads group by clicking here. Today’s topic is Book Theme Songs, which means songs you associate with a book or that are sort of like a soundtrack to it. Since I love sharing some of my favourite songs and this being about books as well, I could not pass it up!
Your Soul by Rhodes – A Thousand Pieces of You
I’ve even mentioned this to Claudia Gray and she agreed that it fits Paul and Marguerite quite perfectly. We are going to ignore that I might have changed my mind in terms of ships in the sequel.
So Far Around the Bend by The National – Charlie St. Cloud
That song was in the trailer for the movie adaptation of the book and I downloaded it and never stopped listening to it while actually reading the book. Now they are eternally interlinked.
Cake by the Ocean by DNCE – Nowhere But Here
I have no idea why I associate those two so much. There is no ocean in that book, but maybe I sometimes think that’s how Oz saw Emily or at least secretly thought about her? No? I have no idea.
After Hours by We Are Scientists – Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist
That song makes me think of not wanting to go home at the end of the night and staying that bit longer that will make it such an epic adventure and that’s kind of what the book was about. Also, the song was featured in the movie.
Beautiful Crime by Tamer – The Wrath and the Dawn
I guess I listened to this one too many times while reading TWATD, but think about it. It sort of fits Khalid and Shazi really well.
So some of those were definitely the usual suspects on my playlist, but I hope I could also show you some new music! What are some songs you can’t seem to separate from a story?
