It is Sunday and you all know what that means – IT IS TRAILER TIME! I, again, can’t really offer you anything from the TV world, but I got loads of interesting movie trailers for you today. Enjoy everyone!
Movies
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
This does not look like the book AT ALL. I wasn’t even a fan of the book, but this changes a lot and I don’t know if it’s for the better. I guess I can only judge after actually seeing the whole movie. I still want a Hollow pet now … can’t believe I was once scared of them. I am weird like that.
The Girl With All the Gifts
I’ve seen the book for this one around, but I had actually no idea what it was about … not sure I want to read it … not sure at all …
Keeping Up with the Joneses
I LOVE THIS! It’s like the comedy movie from the POV of the neighbors of Mr and Mrs Smith or something.
A Street Cat Named Bob
It looks adorable, but I never know – is this the actor who played Victor Frankenstein on Penny Dreadful or is it his twin? That’s what happens when twins both start an acting career. It’s so confusing!
Inferno
I had no idea they would continue this series. I actually really liked the first movie, but the second one was already seriously lacking even with continued great casting … I don’t know
Mechanic: Resurrection
Jason Statham action movies, even if they do end up benig pretty much all the same, are quite enjoyable. So, why not?
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back
Uhm … I think I didn’t even watch the first one …
War on Everyone
I am finishing this off with a bit of a WTF kind of trailer. Really, what were they thinking?
So, same question as every week: What would you like to watch?
The opening line of this post sounds very familiar…
I saw the trailer for Inferno earlier this week. I knew that they were making it, instead of the third book in the series, but I had no idea they were this far in the story. Still, I hope it’s better in the book. I remember reading and reviewing it, and plenty of people thought it was a mixed bag of goods.

My Sunday posts always start the same … I am running out of ideas for intros.
I had a couple of friends read Inferno … they weren’t too happy wth the ending from what I remember.

Well, it had one of those morals that nobody wants to admit might be an actual solution for humanity’s problems. That’ll hurt a book’s rep, without a doubt.

I don’t think it was the moral about us being overpopulated, because that’s more like a fact. But I think it had something to do with it having some sort of open ending? Could be mistaken.

*sigh* I can’t remember. It was a few years ago. I have trouble remembering breakfast sometimes (pretty sure it involves food though).

It does look good, I am just not really into the zombie-ish aspect of it all.

I haven’t read Miss Peregrine’s yet but I saw the trailer just before watching Me Before You and OMG, I LOVE IT. I love the song in the background. I love the whole concept, and the cast looks very Alice-in-Wonderlandy. Of course, again I haven’t read the book so I can’t compare the two, but I think I’ll be watching it on the cinema. In what way would you say it’s different to the book? 😛
Also The Girl with All the Gifts looks kind of scary… I might have to watch it as well.

Well, for one, the female MC in the book, Emma, could control fire and now they made Emma the girl who can fly. But the whole being fiery and quite frankly also rash and uncontrollable in temperament sometimes was very much part of her character … now she seems airy …
Also, Miss Peregrine isn’t that beautiful hahaha and I also didn’t think she was very nice.
I agree that the trailer for the Peculiars looks great, just not all that much like the book at first glance.

Ooh, that’s quite a huge difference. I feel like in the trailer she’s also the one with water powers? Or is that just air, but they’re underwater? Hmm.
That’s good to know! I haven’t read the book at all and barely know what it’s about so I might actually end up enjoying/liking the movie more than those who have. 😛

The entry to the time loop is through water, I think. So, she pushes the water out with her air power, at least that’s how I think it is meant.
I think I will still be able to enjoy the movie though, especially because I didn’t actually love the books. So, maybe the movies will be better.

Aww, why didn’t you love the book? I’ve heard great things about it – I actually just listened to this books review podcast yesterday and they really enjoyed it too… or, well, one of the two people did, haha.

I was just really bored with the whole series.
The characters were not relatable and the pacing was sooo slow and not actually a lot happened. But I know a lot of people who loved it. I guess it’s one of those series you either love or hate.

Inferno tops my list 🙂 I have read it, and it was incredibly fast paced. I hope the movie does it justice, despite the fact that Tom Hanks is probably getting old to play Robert Langdon. Either way, I am eager to see it. I also think the Miss Peregrine’s trailer is quite lovely, but not too freaky enough. I hope I could catch both movies with my friends. 🙂

I was surprised about The Girl With all the Gifts trailer. I have also been seeing the book around, and I wouldn’t have thought it was a zombie movie

I’m pretty excited about Inferno too. The Langdon books always seems better on screen. I haven’t read Inferno though, so I’m gonna be completely clueless for the first time

I haven’t read any of them hahaha but I did like the first movie.

I kind of expected Miss Peregrine’s to be in black and white like the book. Is that weird? The color kind of throws me off. Still super creepy.
I did read The Girl with All the Gifts and would recommend it. It was a little slow in the middle, but very interesting. I don’t think I’d see the movie, though. I don’t need those nightmares.

Hahaha interesting! I always knew about the colour thing, but I guess I can understand where you are coming from.

I knew about it, too, but when I watched the trailer the color felt wrong.

The first book in the series is excellent…very creative, but while reading the second in the series I was, well…okay…not as good..then I began to get a bit bored. So DNF ….still the first is great and I will see the movie.
