It’s time for Top 5 Wednesdays, a weekly meme created by gingerreadslainey and hosted by Sam @ThoughtsOnTomes. If you want to know more or join as well, just go to the Goodreads group by clicking here. The topic for today is fairly straight forward about auhors you want to read more from, but with a specific condition. Here the official prompt:
Authors You Are Waiting on Another Book From
— These are your favorite authors who you want to write another book but haven’t yet. Or they are writing something, but no title or synopsis has been released and it isn’t coming out until 2018. Try to keep this to authors who haven’t announced anything concrete about a new book, not authors that have a highly anticipated release coming out before the end of 2016.
Erin Morgenstern
None of the authors on this list should come as a surprise to you and least of all Erin Morgenstern. I was/am obsessed with the Night Circus and will forever want more books from her … but here I am, years later, still waiting. Whatever she will publish will probably be another masterpiece because she took the time to perfect it, but I am not the most patient when it comes to books …
Stephanie Perkins
I know that Stephanie Perkins is working on some sort of crime novel, so technically she is having something in the workings, but I am talking about another YA Romance/Contemporary! I want that, because I am definitely not that much into mystery, crime and thrillers. I already have to endure them on TV all the time because that’s basically all my dad watches.
Markus Zusak
Remember that genius piece of writing that was The Book Thief? Well, I read his other books … liked some, didn’t like others, but I am still waiting for him to come up with another modern classic and eternal heartbreaker. I would be sad to think that this was all he had in him.
Huntley Fitzpatrick
Maybe that woman has something in the works I don’t know about, but one thing is for sure, I will never get enough of her work. Good thing I still have one book by her ahead of me to tie me over until a new release comes along.
E. Lockhart
Once upon a time aka last summer, I went on a Lockhart-book-buying-spree and got all the books she wrote that I could possibly attain in a short amount of time. They accompanied me through Cardiff and I just want more of her books in the future. I need them!
So, who are some authors (who don’t have anything coming up in the next two years) you want to have on your shelf again? Tell me all about it in the comments!
Erin Morgentern is on my list as well. I just want another book from her! I don’t care what it’s about I just need more. Here’s my post: http://thebookprophet.weebly.com/home/top-5-wednesday-authors-you-are-waiting-on-another-book-from

Erin Morgenstern is at the top of my list! just like The Night Circus, I feel she is shrouded in a bit of mystery lol. I’m sorry, I know I’m not the only one but…I need the next A Song of Ice and Fire book whenever Mr. Martin decides to bless us, I will be grateful. I’m also looking forward to a book by Benjamin Alire Saenz…I see Goodreads has book 2 in the Aristotle & Dante Discover the Universe duology titled There Will Be Other Summers but no date as of yet…this saddens me…Great T5W btw 😉

Hahaha no worries. I get that you want the next Martin book. I thought it was supposed to come out this year, but I guess it got postponed again, right?

Yea we’re definitely not getting anything from dear ol’ George this year lol. I’m seriously hoping for a surprise announcement for next year *crosses fingers & toes*

I have shamefully not read a book by any of these authors, except for Markus Zusak (I loved his the book thief and definitely want to read more of his books), but I really want to. Great post!

Thank you! And no shame at all 😉 there are so many authors, so many books and so little time. I am sure you have read your fair share of stories that I haven’t even touched upon yet.

I seriously NEED more books by Erin Morgenstern and Markus Zusak! They are both my favourite authors and I hope they write more books soon! 😀

Same! It’s been way too long since they published anything.

Kristin Cashore and Jennifer Lynn Barnes are my top two.

I feel really bad because I don’t know either of them

That’s because they literally both released three books (that are totally AMAZING!!) but nothing else in years. Kristin Cashore wrote Graceling, Fire and Bitterblue (I don’t know if you’ve heard of any of those, but they are so enthralling and original) and Jennifer Lynn Barnes wrote a trilogy called Raised by Wolves.

Aaaaah, okay! I’ve heard of Graceling!!! I just didn’t connect it to the author somehow. I will definitely take a look at both those ladies 😉

I totally agree with you on Stephanie Perkins!! I’m not super excited with her upcoming mystery novel and I much prefer another contemporary because Anna and Isla are definitely two of my most favorite contemporary of ever! ❤ also, I still have The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick on my TBR and I'm excited because I've heard it's sweet and tragic and I love books that give me feels </3 I'm reallly looking forward to books written by Susan Ee and Renee Ahdieh! I think Renee Ahdieh's upcoming book will be published next year but it's already on top of my TBR! Great list 😀

I adore Anna and Isla too. And The Boy Most Likely To was such a sweet story. It wasn’t as romantic as My Life Next Door, but it was so very heartfelt nonetheless. ❤

Right? Who needs murder and mayhem? I want summer love in a foreign city and hilarious groups of friends that feel like family in the end!

Erin Morgenstern!!! It has been far too long. I need something new to get my teeth into. Same with Markus Zusak and Huntley Fitspatrick. I will never get enough of their books and if we just so happen to get to check in with Sam and Jase and the rest of the Garrett clan I will be elated.

Oh definitley! I am cool with whatever Fitzpatrick writes, but I will be all the happier if it includes the Garrets. I am waiting for a book from Jase’s older brother’s POV (of whom I have conveniently forgotten the name right now. Maybe Joel?).

Joel! Yes, I would love for him to get his own story. Sign me up for that!
