So, the Olympic games are over and I honestly was not very good at keeping up with them in the first place, but I am even worse at doing tags on time. Not wanting to stall any longer, I decided to do the My Favourite Characters as Olympians Tag right now, before it would only be appropriate in about 4 years time again. Thanks so much to Fadwa @Word Wonders for creating this and tagging me as well! Definitely don’t forget to check out her original post!
Fadwa really had the perfect answer with Yael, because I think she would be perfect for the category, but I am going to try and be creative here and not steal her answers. Weirdly, even though I read tons of YA books, no character that rides a bicycle comes to mind, however, Oz from Nowhere but Here is great on his motorcycle. So he is my champion for this category.
Aaron Burr, sir? Does that even count? No, probably not and his fellow soldiers would have told you that he was a terrible shot (but not when it counted apparently). Well, who else handles a gun? Warner from Shatter Me probably could do that. I think his father would have taught him how to shoot?
Well, I need someone with a lot of endurance for this one. I think Clarke from The 100 could do it, because she can accomplish anything she sets her mind to. And just imagine, after hours of exhausting sport-stuff, Bellamy’s waiting at the finish line. (I am fully aware that there aren’t people directly at the finish line, but this is a fictional scenario either way.)
Kate from This Savage Song has a lot of training in martial arts and defensive techniques, so I am just assuming that she can do Taekwondo. I have no idea if that’s true, but I have full confidence in her abilities.
I instantly associate this sport with very graceful people and girls … which is sexist in a way I suppose. Sorry about that. But I also think that most girls in books are very clumsy, so this is not easy at all. My mind can’t shake the image of Blue Sargent from the Raven Cycle doing this. It might be ridiculous, because she can be clumsy too, but she’d rock that sport somehow.
Okay, is anyone doubting that I would use Alec Lightwood on a list if I had the chance? No, right? That’s not a surprise at all. It helps that he basically has perfect aim as well, but it’s mainly him just because I love him so much.
I am randomly assigning Mustang from Red Rising to this … could be her name, or her upbringing. I just think she’d be able to do this.
Hmm … how about Will from Avalon High? He’s basically Arthur Pendragon re-incarnated and I associate that with a sword and swords with fencing. Does that make sense? It should, because that was very logical and almost flawless reasoning right there.
I added this category, because why not? And I chose Kaelen from The Siren, because of obvious reason that you should be able to deduce from the title of the book.
I won’t tag anyone seen as I am so late myself, but you are more than welcome to do the tag yourself by simply linking back to this post if you want to!
