I am quite content with what I managed to read this month. Somehow I have turned from amazing books to a reading slump, but more about that later. Here’s what I managed to read in August:
- This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab (5 stars)
- Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, Jack Thorne (4 stars)
- Gone Wild by Jodi Lundgren (2.5 stars)
Read this with Cátia. - Player by M.L. Sparrow (3 stars)
So, I technically put the following books on my TBR, because I got them all for my birthday, but I didn’t officially list them yet.
- The Girl from Everywhere by Heidi Heilig (4 stars)
- The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater (4.5 stars)
- The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater (5 stars)
- Hamilton: The Revolution (5 stars)
As always, click on the titles above to get to the reviews (or on the name of the people I read the books with, to get to their reviews if they are up yet) and on the covers to be redirected to Goodreads!
I am on my FIRST holiday since starting to work at the bookshop in February and it doesn’t feel like a vacation at all, because every day is fully scheduled and busy to no end. I wish I could take more time off, but it will have to do. However, the closer my days off came, the less and less I read. I have absolutely no idea what inspired this massive reading slump, but at least I caught up on some of TV watching habits. Most notoriously I got obsessed with Wynonna Earp and Stranger Things, because why not? And I got into a funk because of Roadies ending and am already a little bit in love with Victoria. Don’t even get me started on movies! Whiskey Foxtrot Charlie occupied my mind for days!

I haven’t written my Wrap Up yet, I think that will have to wait until the weekend so I have no idea how I did.
I hope you get out of your reading slump!!

Looks like you had a mostly great reading month, save for Gone Wild! And yay for working at the bookshop, though I’m sorry that you’re in a reading slump. I think it’s OK to take a break and not worry about not reading… I mean, it should be fun first and foremost of all. 🙂

Gone Wild wasn’t bad to read, but it was a disappointment, because it felt more like a short story or novella than a fully developed novel.
I think breaks are fine too. I am going on a trip to Germany tomorrow and we are taking the car. So, I will be back to reading by then hahaha

Oh wow, have fun! So jealous of you people in Europe – traveling from country is country seems easy as pie. 😛

Yay, holidays, finally! So happy for you, and despite the lack of reading -hope you’ll get out of your slump soon!-, it’s still great to get obsessed about TV things and all 😀 And congratulations on all the followers, it is SO well-deserved ❤

Thank you! We are driving to Germany tomorrow, so I will be off the grid for a couple of days. My uncle is getting married and it’s turning into a really stressful kind of holiday. I feel like I am going to need a holiday from the holiday afterwards hahaha

Holidays! Enjoy them, because they go so fast! Then you’ll be ready to kick that slump’s ass 🙂
I used to plan my days off so much that it took all the fun of it, but sometimes we have no choice if we want to make things happen instead of staying in bed in our pajamas xD I hope you get some real down time anyway 🙂

I wish this were a real holiday, it’s just one obligation after the other. My uncle is getting married, so there’s tons to do and I even have to read something at the ceremony and help hosting a game … I feel like I am going to need a break from this holiday afterwards. Staying home in pajamas sounds about like heaven right now.
