What a surprise, I didn’t exactly stick to my TBR. But what can you do? As a chronic mood reader, that is what dictates my book choices and not really the TBR I set for myself. Anyway, here is what I read:
- Blood for Blood by Ryan Graudin (5 stars)
Heartless byMarissa Meyer
To my defense, I started it! (I just didn’t get very far)- Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel (4.5 stars)
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling
I looked at it, I could still remember the movie, it was no fun to read, end of story.
What wasn’t on the list:
- All American Boys by Jason Reynolds/Brendan Kiely (5 stars)
- We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (5 stars)
What’s there to say? I just love when real life examples show how ridiculous some situations are, but how they are regarded as “normal” by society nonetheless. It is frustratingly short, because I would have read stories like that for hours more, but I still loved it. - The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr (2.5 stars)
- Zodiac Starforce by Kevin Panetta/Paulina Ganucheau (5 stars)
Yeah, so sometimes I go and buy a couple comic books. This was so much fun to read! It had badass girls, an LGBT+ aspect, bright colours and a drawing style I really liked – what else could I possibly ask for? - Spider-Man: Miles Morales Vol. I by Brian Michael Bendis/Sara Pichelli (4 stars)
Could the story have been better? Definitely! But I like Miles, I like the countless references and I definitely LOVE his crush on Ms Marvel. So, it was entertaining, isn’t that the way it’s supposed to be?
Click on the titles to get redirected to the reviews and on the covers to get to the respective Goodreads pages! I am not reviewing all my books anymore, so if I haven’t posted a review on the blog, you can find a couple sentences below the title to hear my thoughts!
I am officially off work! I don’t know if that is a good thing or not, but for now I am embracing it and trying to figure out a couple of things, such as what to do next, where to go with the blog (fun changes to come!), developing Arcadia and making my travelling plans a little more concrete. I was happy to have been able to be more active on the blog and your blogs again. I was really craving that!
This month I hosted a giveaway! It’s a 1000 follower kind of thank you, but by now we are like two people away from reaching 1100 and it just blows my mind. There aren’t enough words to tell you how much I appreciate you all. Remember that today is the last day to enter(which you can do here) if you want that surprise package!!! I will choose the winners tomorrow and swiftly send them mails or DMs via Twitter, so keep an eye out for that!
Lastly, I also introduced a new feature #CurrentlyWatching! Which is really near and dear to my heart. I know that there have only been two posts so far, but you can bet on it being there every Friday from now on. I would really like to hear your thoughts on it, so, drop me a comment about that below!

You had an AMAZING reading month, Kat! I hope next month will be just as great 🙂 I am so eager to see what’s coming on your blog for the next month, I’m more and more excited about your currently watching feature, because even if I have like NO time to watch all the shows, well…I love discovering new shows haha 🙂

Right? I had so many 4-5 star reads, I don’t know where those books have been hiding all this time hahaha
And I am so happy to hear that about my new feature! I’ve been told people live vicariously through my watching habits 😉

Thaaank you! The comic books were easy because they were so short, but this was a good reading month for sure. And I am so happy to hear that you like #currentlywatching. I SO want that to become a thing. My love for TV is a fierce contender next to my love for books.

Ooh Zodiac StarForce is new to me, I will seek it out next time I’m buying GNs!

It was so cute and fun! The heroines are already fully equipped with their powers. It was interesting to see it all without an origin story, you know?

I hope I like The One Memory of Flora Banks more than you did, but I might read your review to see what I might need to look out for! Apart from that, it sounds like you had an excellent reading month!

Yeah, Flora Banks was a real bummer for me! But go ahead, I detailed why I didn’t like it without spoiling it 🙂

ahh that’s a shame about fantastic beasts- but I get that- if I read a book after watching the film I often can’t get into it either. ah it’s always a great thing to be off work- it’s a great opportunity to reassess and do the things that are important to you (speaking from experience here 😉 )- and hope you have an amazing time with your travels- where are you looking to go? I’m really looking forward to your #CurrentlyWatching feature! Great post!

Yeah, I think it was worse with Fantastic Beasts because it was also a script and not like an actual novel. But I still love my edition and the little niffler on it!
I am most likely going to go to Canada for a couple months, travel from coast to coast by train. But shhh, it’s not yet sure.
And yay! I really put an effort in the #CurrentlyWatching posts! Are you going back my timeline right now? Because you’ll soon find them then hahaha

I still have LOADS of planning to do, but I need an adventure. I have this “if I don’t leave this town now, I might never get out”-feeling and I need to follow that.
