Anything But Books Tag

I think we’ve thoroughly discussed by now how terrible I am with tags, but here I am giving them another shot anyway. I was tasked to do so by Bianca @The Ultimate Fangirl and Cátia @The Girl Who Read too Much and with that bring to you the Anything But Books Tag! I think by now my blog is probably 50% books and 50% TV shows, but I will still gladly do this!

1. Name a cartoon that you love.

When I was little, I feel like I pretty much watched and loved ALL the things. In later years, I don’t know though. I am currently more into live action stuff, even though I admire the craft very much. I remember absolutely adoring One Piece though, because PIRATES!

2. What is your favorite song right now?

I do play Lord Huron’s The Night We Met on repeat most days, but since Cátia already said that, I can easily come up with something else. My current playlist is a mix of the Power Rangers, Riverdale and 13 Reasons Why soundtracks, so Rendezvous Girl by Santigold is playing a lot too!

3. What could you do for hours that isn’t reading?

I watch one hell of a lot of TV. Sometimes I start a show in the morning and when I look up again, it’s late afternoon. It’s a problem. Lately, I’ve also been quite busy with this game called Gardenscapes on my phone. My mum always wonders why I can’t be as invested in our real garden as I am in getting this fictional one fixed up.

4. What is something you love to do that your followers would be surprised by?

I always thought I was a pretty open book. Let met think … there must be something! Oh, now I know! Seven years ago, I made a really crappy lyric video (seriously, I have no skills) and it has 2.4 million views on YouTube by now. Who would have thought, right?

5. What is your favorite unnecessarily specific thing to learn about?

Uhm … I don’t know? I like to deconstruct my food before I eat it, because I like eating it one layer after the other? But I tend to not do that in public because people think it’s weird … so, yeah, just at home? And even then only when no one is watching.

6. What is something unusual that you know how to do?

These questions are hard! I guess I know how to make my own fandom “dolls”? I actually think that I’ve mentioned that before, but whatever. Mostly I work with felt or I crochet things. Here’s a Sherlock for example:

7. Name something you made in the last year and show us if you can.

I started to make Arcadia? (My current WIP if you haven’t heard of it before) Usually I have something physical I made during the course of the year, but I really can’t think of anything right now. I was really, really busy with work and Arcadia is still something I came up with all by myself. I even made a character board for it on the backside of my closet.

8. What is your most recent personal project?

Arcadia again! And then, I suppose, my Canada trip. I have a list that’s like a mile long with things I need to do.It’s my passion project, my chance for an adventure, so I am not complaining.

9. Tell us something that you think about often?

Even after the incredible amount of 8 years, I still think about my exchange semester in the US a lot. I was only sweet, innocent 15 when I went there and it’s a time that has shaped me in many ways. It’s not like I ponder things that I would have liked to do more while I was there or regrets of me having been too shy to talk to certain people (although that does come up), but instead I wonder what kind of a different person I would have been today if it weren’t for that experience. Also, how fortunate I was to have a family who financed this for me and supported me in my decision to basically move to a different continent without them having any way of reaching me most of the time.

10. Give us something that is your favorite, but make it oddly specific.

I love sunny days with a light breeze, when the heat never gets overpowering and the rays of sunshine only warm your skin ever so lightly.

I love taking a walk along the beach and even though you never set foot into the water, you get home and you can feel the thinnest of layers of salt on your skin.

I love the feeling of sore muscles after a thorough workout, when you can feel every move a hundred times more than usual. You are suddenly so aware of your body, the way it works and you know that what you just did, no matter how exhausting, had an effect.

11. Say the first thing that pops into your head.

“I had a dream that you were mine, I had that dream a thousand times, a thousand times …”
