May 2017 Wrap-Up

  • Windfall by Jennifer E. Smith (3.5 stars)
  • Lumberjanes, Vol. 2 (5 stars)
I still think this series is hilarious and bold. I enjoy it very much.
  • Jughead, Vol. 1 (4 stars)
It was alright and I love Jughead, but his dream sequences are weird … as was the general overarching story.
  • A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas (4.5 stars)
I’d be more than happy if this was the last of the series. I know it is flawed, but it was a fast and engaging read to me.
  • Jughead, Vol. 2 (5 stars)
Sabrina’s introduction was PERFECT! I loved seeing her life intertwine with Juggie’s. Also, the dream sequences are gone!
  • Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley (5 stars)

Windfall Lumberjanes, Vol. 2: Friendship to the Max Jughead, Vol. 1 A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3) Jughead, Vol. 2 Words in Deep Blue

Click on the titles to get redirected to the reviews and on the covers to get to the respective Goodreads pages! I am not reviewing all my books anymore, so if I haven’t posted a review on the blog, you can find a couple sentences below the title to read my thoughts!

So, it’s been a little quiet on the blog, but Canada has been fun so far and left me little time to blog. However, I did try and keep you updated with posts about Week 1 and Week 2 in Toronto! I’ll try my best to keep writing and hopefully not just updates but also some new chapters for Arcadia. That will probably work best as soon as I’ve settled down in Vancouver, but we will see.

How was your month? Let’s talk about it!

  1. What did you think of Windfall? I did an ARC review of it and I love Jennifer E Smith but I don’t think it was as good as some of her other books

    • If you click on the title, you’ll get to my entire review but overall I wasn’t that impressed. It started off great, but then it became predictable and I didn’t like the characters (especially Teddy) all that much, so that was a bit of a problem for me.

    • Jughead is the best! I mean, who can’t relate to his love for burgers? I tried all the new and revived Archie comics, but that’s the one that stuck the most. I do plan to read the main Archie series at some point though.

  2. Well I think that despite traveling and living the dream, you are doing quite well with blogging as well ahah 🙂 I’m excited to read that Jennifer E. Smith book, I hope I’ll enjoy it a bit more than you did but I’m glad you still found it a bit entertaning. Also, I can’t WAIT to read Words in Deep Blue now, you made me too impatient with all your fangirling 😛 And yes yes YES for Arcadia. We will all be eagerly waiting for the next chapters! (but no pressure, of course! :P)

  3. ACOTAR and Windfall are both on my TBR. Wishing you an equally productive June ! =)

I’m new to blogging and book reviewing, and I was wondering if you had any tips for newbie bloggers and book reviewers.

If you have the time, please check out my blog @breenysbooks. I’d love any feedback. Have a wonderful day.
