Trailers You Might Have Missed … (May 29-June 4)

Another week in Canada has come and gone. I will tell you more about that in a couple days, but here are some trailers for you first!

Murder on the Orient Express

I LOVE the look of this and the casting! I didn’t know Sergei Polunin (my favourite male ballet dancer) was going to be in this. And then there is Daisy Ridley, Josh Gad, Leslie Odom Jr. AND Willem Dafoe. I am fangirling so much right now.

Victoria and Abdul

It made me way more emotional than I thought it would.

Logan Lucky

Adam Driver and Channing Tatum as brothers just somehow doesn’t go into my head, but it’s Adam … so I want to watch it.

Paddington 2

Uhm … so I haven’t seen the first one yet.

Voldemort – Origins of the Heir

Can you believe this is a solely fanmade movie? I mean … the narration kind of gives it away, but other than that? It looks really professionally made.

Proud of Troian for writing and directing, but that movie is creepy af! Tom as her twin kind of works for me though.

The Mountain Between Us

The casting of this has me intrigued, but survival stories scare me.

TV Shows

Poldark (Season 3)

I thought this would come back so much later. GO DEMELZA!!!

The Last Tycoon

A 100 TIMES YES TO THIS! I loved the pilot so much and cannot wait to get a full season of it. My favourite era, my favourite setting – bliss!

Room 104

This is so strange.

Still Star-Crossed

I surprisingly loved the premiere of this so much, like I am here shipping Rosaline and Benvolio SO MUCH! I don’t care that they hate each other.

What are you watching? What are you doing? Let’s talk!

  1. Thoughts:
1 Murder on the Orient Express: is this where we get the rule that the butler always does it? Also, I may need to read the book.
    2. Voldemort: It may be a fan film, but apparently Warner Bros has signed on to help make it as big and as incredible as it can be. Still no word on how JK Rowling feels, but it does raise some questions. For example, will this film be considered canon in any way, like Fantastic Beasts is? Also, her last name was McLaggen. As in that prat Cormac? They’re related? Does that mean Cormac is directly descended from Griffyndor? If so, his ancestor must be rolling in his grave at what his heirs produced.
    3. The Mountain Between Us: my sister and I really want to see it.

    • 1: I haven’t read the book and I don’t know if the butler suspicion was a thing before that or not. So, I am not going to be able to give an opinion on that.
2: I didn’t know WB supported it, the trailer just popped up on my Facebook timeline a lot. I guess it depends on whatever statement Rowling will give whether this is canon or not. Technically Cursed Child is canon too, but many people ignore that thing ever existed.
3: good for you two πŸ™‚

      • Yeah, it was crowd-funded at first, but it apparently impressed a few WB execs. And I agree with the people who ignore Cursed Child. It kind of just flies in the face of a lot of what we all loved about HP growing up.
Also, my sister and I go see a lot of movies together. It’s a lot of fun. She’s going to take me to see the Mummy movie this Saturday for my birthday. πŸ™‚

  2. Murder on the Orient Express looks so freaking amazing! I love the book, so I was a bit scared of how they were going to do the movie. But so far it looks amazing! I’m beyond exited for this movie to come out! πŸ˜€
Still Star-Crossed looks very interesting! I haven’t seen the premier yet, but I definitely need to check it out. It seems like a show that I would enjoy.

  3. I am a big fan of Poirot, and really enjoy the David Suchet version and the Albert Finney version.of the story, even though Poirot is in a pissy mood during this book. {He is usually so charming!} I want to see this new version. πŸ™‚

  4. TEAM DEMELZA ALL THE WAY!!! I knew the third series would begin soon cause we got a preview of it at the end of the second series but had no idea it’d be next week. I am so ready for this.

When it comes to Poirot, David Suchet’s will always be the best one. However, I do love the casting for the Orient Express and it looks epic so I’ll watch it regardless.
