I can’t remember the last time I’ve been apart from my laptop as much as I was this week. A lot of fun stuff has happened, but I’ll go into more detail on that when the monthly wrap up comes around. Now it’s time for some trailers!
Movies
Lady Bird
I really want to watch this one!
The Man Who Invented Christmas
Aside from the fact that I like Dan Stevens, I think this might really be funny.
A Bad Moms Christmas
It’s way too early for all that Christmas stuff.
#realtyhigh
I watched this … it was very cliche and predictable.
Big Bear
Very weird, but I think I might actually watch this just because of the cast.
The Current War
I cannot say that I care much for the topic, but it looks well done.
Mudbound
I think this could be good.
Gaga: Five Foot Two
Documentary of the week.
TV Shows
The Magical Bus Rides Again
I am not a fan of the new animation … but nostalgia?
This Is Us (Season 2)
I know a lot of people who’ll be happy about that show returning!
Alias Grace
A lot of historical stuff happening.
Damnation
From the blurry thumbnail I thought Tom Hardy was in this for a second … but no.
Hope your week has been great! Let’s chat!
The new Magic School Bus looks so weird! I don’t know if I could get used to it!
I love seeing the Christmas trailers. Makes me excited!

Right? Me neither, I am kind of sad that they’re trying to revamp all the old cartoon style stuff.
Good for you! I am not in the right mood for Christmas stuff yet, but I am happy if others like it!

Whenever I read these posts I’m always in awe how many trailers are always released! I know it’s already September, but I really don’t need to see any Christmas trailers yet haha. I don’t know how I feel about The Magic School Bus’ animation – it’s so different! It’s so weird to think about little kids watching the new one without having seen the one we grew up with and not knowing better – if they ever see the old animation they’ll probably think it’s old and ugly haha

It’s a lot of trailers! And you should probably know that this is only a small percentage of the entirety, because I only select the ones I would watch or that have high profile actors or people I like in it haha There’s a ton more thrillers and horror stuff that never makes it on here and even more indie movies.
I feel like someone should get the old school animation trending again. Everything now just looks way too slick.

Ooooh I don’t have Netflix (Yh I live under a rock) but may consider as Margaret Atwood brought me the story of Alias Grace which fascinated me

I spend SO much time on Netflix! I think I’d be miserable without it hahaha

I read. In this day and age both are equal, these box sets have really upped the game! Well Done on your reviews, quite a few there to see you into the winter 😊

I am just in a massive reading slump and don’t have the attention span for reading at the moment. That’s when bingewatching shows comes in real handy haha

Thoughts:
1. The Current War: I’ll pass
2. Gaga: Five Foot Two: I love Gaga, but I’ll pass
3. Magic School Bus: They’re replacing Ms. Frizzle with a younger Ms. Frizzle? I don’t know if I like that. Still, I’ll see it.
BTW, what did you think of the trailer for the documentary One of Us?

I don’t really have an opinion on One of Us. I think it’s sad that it’s happening, but I don’t like to go into religion too much.

Understandable. It is one of those topics you shouldn’t bring up at the dinner table.

Magic School Bus what? I feel like I’m a child again ahah. I’m so curious about this now, it is making me all nostalgic.
Also, what is UP WITH ALL THIS CHRISTMASSY-MOVIE-FEST? No, no, no, it’s way too early for that hahaha.

Right? I had no idea they were reviving Magic School Bus either but now I am just really not sure how I feel about the animation.

Dan Stevens is enough of a selling point for me haha.
I hate how they revamp some of these classic animated shows and the new animation always looks awful to me.

Agreed! Dan Stevens is a treasure.

“Lady Bird” (2017) made me smile, and progressively became more delightful as I kept watching. Not only does it feel really relatable in its premise and the comedic style which appeals specifically to me but it’s also got Lucas Hedges in it (who is incredibly watchable, if you know what I mean) as well as Timothée Chalamet (who is, given what his scenes involve, even more watchable, if you know what I mean). Too bad it doesn’t have a UK release date yet.

I think it’s an indie release, so just a little patience. They’ll release the UK date at some point.

In August they already had the Halloween candy at the supermarket and I was just like “WHY?”. It makes no sense to me.
