November 2017 Wrap-Up

I am tired of writing “where is the time going? How is it almost the end of the year?” but that’s basically what’s happening in my brain. Anyway, you won’t believe it, but I’ve actually read stuff this month and with stuff I mean books and comics! YAY ME!

  • Saints and Misfits by S.K. Ali (4.5 stars)
  • Wynonna Earp, Vol. 2: Legends (4 stars)
The characters look like the ones from the show, but the story is mostly different. Very different.
  • Superman: American Alien (4.5 stars)
Did not love the art in every single issue, but the story was more than solid. It was a feast to see Clark coming into himself and Superman thereafter.
  • Spider-Man/Spider-Gwen: Sitting in a Tree (3 stars)
To me, this was a silly idea to begin with. (Miles and Kamala are my ship!)

Just like in old times, click on the title to get to the review on the blog (if there is one) and on the cover to get re-directed to Goodreads!

I spent the first week(-ish) of the month in Toronto, having a couple really awesome blogger meet ups, but mostly being over my Canada stay. I still wanted to be in Vancouver, but I hated that inbetween of being in Toronto and still having so far to go to be in Vienna. Then I finally got back to Austria and it feels like I barely had time to breathe since. There were appointments with the unemployment office, my short yearly stunt as a crew member at our local comic con and telling the same stuff over and over to different family members/friends.

I do understand that everyone wants to know how I’ve been, but the worst question to get after a 6-month-long absence is “So, how was it? What’s coming next?”, because I literally have no idea how to answer either. I mean, what part of the trip are we talking about? I was in more than 4 different cities for a decent amount of time. I basically had a second life in Vancouver and even there I lived in various different neighborhoods. Also, there is no way that I am arriving in Vienna with a game plan for my future endeavors. That’s just not how my brain works. I need time to arrive first, get back into the time zone and then I will take one step at a time towards what’s to come. Seriously, cut me some slack.

So, this turned into a bit of a rant. But, basically, I am back? Hopefully also into the reading game.
