Let’s Talk About “Arcadia”!

I’ve gained a lot of followers in the last couple of months (thank you for that!!!), but I have now wondered how many of those people actually know what I am talking about when I mention Arcadia in tags or monthly-wrap ups. So, this is a little introduction to my personal WIP for those of you are unfamiliar with it or haven’t heard about it in a while!

First things first, what is it even about?

Kasia and Dyson have known each other their entire lives, their paths intertwining at every crossroad. So forgetting he ever existed doesn’t make any sense to Kasia and neither does finding out about the magical beings that took him away from her. Now, with the help of some allies with motives of their own, she will do everything she can to get him back, not knowing if either one of them will ever be the same after all is said and done.

Writing a synopsis for my own story is what I am the absolute worst at, however, I hope it gave you some perspective of what it could be about. It’s Fantasy, because I tried regular contemporary but missed my magical elements to bits!

I first started writing this story late in 2016, but then got a bit distracted when I went abroad in 2017. I am now fully committed to write more again, with regular updates in sight. So far, I have shared about 14 chapters (including a prologue) via wattpad. I know that not all of you have an account, but so far it is still the easiest way for me to share the story with a broader audience. I have been looking into alternatives, but nothing has seemed right yet. Anyway, you can read the prologue here without an account, but will need one for further chapters. *whispers* but if you shoot me a nice email and really, really want to read what I have written so far, I might be persuaded to send you a pdf-file! Clearly this is THE secret way of getting my story and you are the only one who knows about it now …

If you would like some more visual impressions of the story, I have somehow managed to include my pinterest board for Arcadia in the post (believe me, that was more difficult than I thought it would be).

There is a variety of characters you will get to meet throughout reading Arcadia and I have introduced most of the main cast in some previous posts. Through some sort of miracle, I have actually been able to make people care about them and I hope you will too, if you decide to take a closer look! Feel free to check those posts out, the latest come first and the oldest posts are listed last.

Previous posts about Arcadia:

I hope I didn’t send you too much through the archives of my blog, but I really hope I could maybe persuade you to check out my WIP! Getting comments, live reactions, gifs and any kind of feedback has kept me motivated so far and I am sure will do so in the future as well.

Who of my lovely followers is a writer as well? How do you feel about sharing your WIP? Have you already checked out Arcadia?

  1. FINALLY I HAVE BEEN WAITING ALL DAY TO COMMENT ON THIS. Now that I can safely do it and rant away, get ready haha 😛
I am so happy you are sharing a bit more about your WIP, people need to be reminded of it and to read the beginning of your story, I am loving it so far and so happy that, despite the small break because of traveling and everything, you haven’t given up on this story ❤
I love your pinterest board SO much, it looks so pretty and really gives some great vibes to the story, some images and clothes and that wolf are how I imagined things so far, so YAY 😀
I can't wait for you to write more ❤ ❤

    • Hahaha you are really doing your role as #1 fan justice! ❤
I know it sounds silly, but I am SO happy to be back at writing as well. I downright went with the intention that I would be writing my book while being in Canada and then I did absolutely jack. That's life for ya hahaa
And I am so glad you like the pinterest board!!! I barely share it with anyone, because me and pinterest have a very on-off-kind-of relationship, but at least it worked out now 😀

  2. I have a wattpad account (that I’ve never used for anything yet) and I will be reading your story for sure! I just read the prologue and I’m really intrigued. I used to write a lot more than I do now (ugh life -.-) but I’m trying to get back into it. I don’t really have a wip (though technally I have like 2765433833 unfinished/dropped ideas that I just never seemed to like all that much, or enough to stick to it) but I hope to one day get that one idea that I just love. Until then I’ll just keep writing.

    • Oh yaaay! I would love for you to read Arcadia 😀
I so hear you on life sometimes interfering with wanting to write, which was why last year just didn’t happen for me. I had another story (Break Up Buddy), that I just had to get out of my system and then I could write whatever I set my mind to. But believe me, I have a gazillion unfinished ideas as well. You’ll get there when it’s meant to be 😀 just do you in the meantime!

  3. Oh I definitely loved learning more about your WIP Kat, also I will definitely be checking out the chapters you posted on Wattpad when I have a spare moment! 😀
I’m kind of in awe of how you managed to summarise Arcadia, like naming characters summing up my WIP is one of the things I just can’t do. I’m terrible at summing up the books I read and there I have the Goodreads blurb to help me out. 🙂
I’ve started a Pinterest board for my WIP (or will be starting one when I get around to pinning more than two pins to it!) as part of my research, and I want to share more about it on my blog but that’s for the near future.
So far I’ve loved everything I’ve read about Arcadia, so I’m sure I’ll love the chapters you’ve posted so far just as much! 😀 ❤

    • Oh Beth, I’d absolutely love for you to read Arcadia!
The summary was one of the hardest things to do! I’ve rewritten that thing about a thousand times and am never truly happy with it. Just like with the names, I am sure you will get there at some point yourself 😉
Pinterest is super neat in collecting visual aid and inspiration for your story! I hope you have a bit of fun with that when you have the time haha

      • In that case I’ll make it a priority to get around to it this weekend! And I’ll let you know what I think as well. 🙂 I’ll probably end up changing the names a few more times but that’s a problem for another day. I love Pinterest, I probably spend more time there than I do actually researching or writing! 😀

      • Oh yes, please do let me know what you think! It’s totally okay if you don’t like it too, I just want to make that clear hahaha aside from it still being a work in progress, I am practicing handling people not liking it (sometimes before they even read it, just because I am an emotional wreck with sharing it in the first place … whoops). But I am for real, if you have critical feedback, I am all ears!
Also .. then you maybe shouldn’t spend too much time on pinterest hahahaha

      • I’ll be honest, I think that critical feedback is sometimes better because how else can we improve as writers right? But I get what you mean. I’m the only one who’s even read my WIP (or what I have of it so far) and already I’m prepared for people to not like it! 🙂

  4. Hi! Fellow writer here. Holy hell, the synopsis of your WIP sounds so interesting!! I was actually about to ask about it seeing as I’m new here and have seen it mentioned in a couple of posts. I’ll be checking it out ASAP! 💛

    • I have tried sharing chapters on the blog but it got too chaotic and especially if new people wanted to check it out, they were very unlikely to go through the archive to find the beginning. So far, Wattpad seemed like the easiest option, also to reach people beyond my blog. There are community rules for copyright in place as well. Still, I keep looking for alternatives.

  5. I love your Pinterest board for Arcadia!! It’s so lovely and aesthetic. I love seeing people’s Pinterest or aesthetic boards for their WIPs, it’s so interesting and fun ahah. I currently have Arcadia open right now, but I got distracted commenting on your blog haha 😂 The first chapter ended with so many questions though so I will definitely have to get back to it later! ❤ I can't wait to read more about Kasia (and meet Dyson!) because it sounds SO interesting. 😍
