What a week, folks! I hope to get good news soon but until then, I am really happy with this week’s selection of trailers. I promise it is much better than last week. I am actually so excited about a lot of these, so let’s get sharing!
Movies
Sierra Burgess Is a Loser
THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO BE MY JAM! I LOVE IT ALREADY!!
Life Itself
I am going to love this movie with all my heart. I am getting chills just watching it, because it’s going to be so emotional and beautiful. AND THAT SONG! (I love Roo Panes’ voice)
Colette
ELEANOR TOMLINSON IS ALL I CAN SEE
Mary Queen of Scots
Margot Robbie looks like the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland in this movie.
The Favourite
It is the week of historical settings.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream
I don’t know how I feel about this modernised version. It could be fun and it could flop. Hard to say.
The Miseducation of Cameron Post
As promised, I reposted the trailer this week! And I also have the book on my shelf now – cannot wait to read it soon!
A Simple Favor
I still like the look and vibe of this and I definitely want to read it before the movie comes out.
Wonder Park
It looks alright, but what’s up with having animated movies with that eerie music all the time.
The Package
It’s the guy from Alex Strangelove! But it looks so … weird and I am not sure that’s meant in a good way.
Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween
I haven’t watched the first one, but this is with an entirely different cast, right?
Extinction
Michael Peña in a lead role is awesome, even if this looks super creepy.
An Actor Prepares
I guess a little family story could be fun.
The Bleeding Edge
Documentary of the week.
TV Shows
Doctor Who (Series 11)
I still haven’t finished series 10, so no comment from me. But here it is!
Casual (Final Season)
I always liked this show, but I think it’s good it’s coming to an end.
Insatiable
Definitely curious what this is about.
Cupcake & Dino: General Services
It might be silly, but I’d watch this when I am bored for sure.
Chesapeake Shore (Season 3)
I really like this as an innocent distraction. It’s such a sweet show.
The Purge (First Look)
This is not for me.
Castle Rock
I am just here waiting for someone to give Bill a role in a romantic comedy … although I am not sure that’s what he wants.
What do you want to watch? Did anything catch your eye? Let’s chat!
Thoughts:
1. A Midsummer Night’s Dream: I’ve seen some modernized retellings of Shakespeare’s works (including one of this particular play taking place in the early 19th century). They can work, but it requires a lot of careful direction and luck, and I’m not too sure of this one, truth be told
2. Wonder Park: Looks cute. I’d see it over the Grinch remake.
3. The Package: I saw the thumbnail for this a few days ago and thought this was a horror movie, what with the knife and all. Still thought it was a horror movie with dumb teens in it for a while, but then the truth was revealed, and I found myself wondering, “What happened to the days when comedies didn’t rely entirely on swearing, sex and drug use to get a laugh? What happened to comedies that relied solely on goofy situations, slapstick and wordplay? When did that die out?”
4. Goosebumps 2: Yes, that is an entirely different cast, and an entirely different location too, it seems. And I’m still looking forward to it. BTW, I think you might be okay with the first film. It was more comedy with horror elements and silly CGI than actual horror. But then again, you’re the better judge of that than I am.
5.The Purge: I stopped watching after the first film. Such a great concept wasted on a stupid film franchise. I won’t watch the TV series.
6. Castle Rock: Oooh, I’m so excited!
Also, saw the trailer for what I think is a foreign horror film called Ghoul that’ll be on Netflix. Looks creepy.

Oh yeah, I have watched modernised versions of Shakespeare too, but I prefer them when they also modernise the language.
And I am not scared when it comes to Goosebumps, I just don’t care for it.
P.S.: I just added the Doctor Who teaser to the post. I didn’t want to wait until next week.

Saoirse Ronan can do no wrong 😀

A film can always win me over when it has an epic song featured in the trailer. Life Itself looks so good. I did not realise how much I needed Oscar Isaac and Olivia Wild in the same film until I saw this trailer.

That movie looks so good, right!? It was a tough call whether I like the look of that one or Sierra Burgess is a Loser better, but in the end they both look fantastic in their own right ❤

That Mary Queen of Scots – oh lord that legit looks like the Queen of Hearts I can’t believe nobody else that worked on the movie realized that hahaha! I don’t even know what Sierra Burgess is a Loser is about but I don’t care because I miss Barb

Sierra Burgess is a Loser is such a cool contemporary story. Sierra gets a text from a cute guy, but he thinks she’s the “mean” pretty girl and she catfishes him for a while. She even enlists the mean girl to help and they become friends. I obviously don’t condone catfishing, but I find it so relatable to not be comfortable with who you are and scared of not being liked as you. Also, the cast looks SO good!

“Margot Robbie looks like the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland in this movie.” lmao I totally agree 😂

Right!? How did no one of the production company think to remedy that??

lol I know. The costume looks dead-on Queen of Hearts, so it’s pretty funny how they didn’t catch that. 😂

Margot Robbie really, REALLY looks like the Queen of Hearts hahahah It’s the first thing I thought when I saw that trailer 🤣 I wouldn’t know who I’d pick between her and Helena Bonham Carter for the role though… They both would totally nail it. 😛

Totally! I could see both in that role after that trailer-look haha

Yea Sierra Burgess is a Loser ended up being really bad according to what I heard. But the ones that intrigue me are A Simple Favor (which I have yet to watch), The Miseducation of Cameron Post (which I haven’t read), and maybe Wonder Park (it looks cute).

Yeah, I watched Sierra and … what a disappointment. I hope you will enjoy A Simple Favor though!
