Trailers You Might Have Missed … (Aug 27 – Sept 2)

Can you believe it’s already September? I am starting my internship tomorrow and it doesn’t even feel real yet. But let’s talk about some trailers, because that’s why you are really here:

A Private War

Rosamund Pike is going to be amazing in this.

Where Hands Touch

This is not going to be an easy watch, but I am happy to see that Amandla is so busy in her career. Also, George MacKay is forever underrated.

Bad Times at the El Royale

Weird and a little creepy but I like it.

The Front Runner

I always feel weird when Hugh Jackman is in a dodgy role.

First Man

Wow, I can’t believe that the controversy around this movie is that they won’t show the planting of the American flag on the moon. How is that a reason to boycott a movie?

Postcards from London

I don’t know if that’s just me, but I feel like this is a very on brand movie for Harris.

I Think We’re Alone Now

There’s so much still unknown about what’s happening here.

Tea with the Dames

Documentary of the week.

TV Shows

Sorry for Your Loss

I NEED THIS SHOW IN MY LIFE! I honestly think this is the one thing I am most excited about in this post.

The Romanoffs

You’re a Romanoff, you’re a Romanoff – EVERYONE is a Romanoff!

Dogs of Berlin

Look, I am all for more German Netflix productions. But … why does it always have to be crime related?

The First

I doubt it’s going to play on Mars much, but it could be very interesting.

Star (Season 3)

This Is Us (Season 3)

This show never ceases to be emotional.

Riverdale (Season 3)

How is everyone just a member of the Serpents now? I am just living for Falice in bed together haha

The Good Place (Season 3)

IT’S COMING BACK SOON! I love and hate how we have no idea what is in store for us.

Single Parents

Would only watch because of Leighton Meester.

The Good Doctor (Season 2)

This at least shows more than the teaser from last week.

True Detective (Season 3)

I am hoping for everyone who watches that the third season is better than the second.

The Dragon Prince

Still like the look of it.

What are you watching? Have you seen anything you like? Let’s talk about that!

  1. Where Hands Touch is definitely going be a painfully hard watch and yes, George MacKay is definitely an underrated gem!
I am still laughing at the controversy of “the flag” in First Man. I can’t believe they’re boycotting over something so ridiculous.
Hugh Jackman is too nice to be a dodgy character. I remember watching another film (I don’t remember the title), but Jackman’s character made some seriously questionable choices and I was uncomfortable watching him in that role haha.

    • THANKS! Why is everyone sleeping on George MacKay? He is fantastic!!
The whole flag story is just ridiculous. How is that the part where they draw the line when so many other things don’t bother them. I am sure those people are the same that said you shouldn’t boycott Insatiable because of the terrible fat shaming and fat rep, but lo and behold, just you wait until someone doesn’t show their flag in a movie.
Hugh really is too nice. It makes the movie less realistic haha

  2. Best of luck for your internship, Kat!! Sorry for Your Loss looks so good, and I canโ€™t wait for The Good Place to be back โ€” I hope Single Parents does really well, because even though Iโ€™m mostly watching it because of Leighton Meester as well, it looks fun and very heartwarming. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. 1. Bad Times at the El Royale: That was my reaction to.
    2. First Man: I’m guessing the boycotters are Americans who think unquestioning love for your country is the definition of patriotism. Anything that seems to go against that–even five seconds of film–is anti-American.
    3. I Think We’re Alone Now: Looks interesting.

Sorry. For the screaming. I just. I’m way too excited about this show to come back, I miss it so, very much haha. Not to long to go anymore, thankfully haha.
I’m also curious about Single Parents, it sounds like a fun show to watch and I really like Leighton Meester so I might give it a try ๐Ÿ˜€

  5. So, like this blog series is quickly becoming a necessity in my life. How would I know what stuff is coming out without it? Dunno. Also, Sorry for Your Loss LOOKS AMAZING. That is all.

Okay, I lied. That’s not all. You are amazing and thank you for putting this together every week. Okay, NOW that’s all ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thank youuu!
Sorry for Your Loss reminded me of a movie I used to love (Catch and Release), but with less cheesy elements and more thought provoking, while keeping it entertaining with LIZZIE! I adore Elizabeth Olsen.

  6. lol what, there’s a controversy about not planting the American flag for First Man? I need to dig into this more, but considering I’d watch anything Ryan Gosling, I probably won’t care. ๐Ÿ˜‚ And Sorry For Your Loss looks great! I really like Elizabeth Olsen as an actress, so maybe I’ll go about checking it out. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Good luck on your internship btw!! โค

    • It’s that they don’t show the actual planting of the flag in the movie and a lot of patriotic Americans freaked out about it. Gosling also said that it was an achievement of mankind and not just Americans alone, which only fueled the fire. It’s very silly if you ask me.
Elizabeth Olsen is one of the greatest! I adore her.

  7. The ones that Iโ€™m definitely interested in is Where Our Hands Touch (which I might just follow every movie that Amandla is in because sheโ€™s amazing) and Single Parents (which Iโ€™m excited for Leighton Meester!) I loved Gossip Girl and I want to see her in other things! Bad Times at El Royale looks really weird. I donโ€™t know if itโ€™s my thing.
