I was initially planning on doing another book review before the end of the month, but … then I got busy and didn’t finish the book (what a week it has been!). So, instead of a review, I thought I’d do this tag that the lovely Marie and Nyx @Drizzle and Hurricane Books tagged me for! Without further ado, here we go:
Favorite Book of All Time
We just dive right in, don’t we? What a cruel question and how does one even choose? However, the purpose of this tag is to give an answer and I won’t be able to evade all of them, so I like to think of a book that comes to mind first or most often. Inkheart by Cornelia Funke is really a book that shaped me! I feel like that definitely is a contender for all time fave!
Favorite Book Five Years Ago
I … I didn’t have Goodreads 5 years ago, so how would I know!?!? Thinking about it, I DID have my blog five years ago though and one of the first posts I wrote was about The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I’ve been going on about that book ever since, so seems fair enough.
I am kind of known for throwing the Red Rising saga at everyone, but I am very torn … I also have STRONG feelings for the Monsters of Verity duology and a classic – Six of Crows. Sorry, but I am going to be that kind of that person that evades a straight out answer on this one.
Last Book You Read
Since this is something I can actually look up – easy peasy – it was Juliet, Naked by Nick Hornby and it was quite the disappointing read. I still want to watch the movie though, so … yeah, that is typical me fashion. Read my full review on it here.
Last Book of Poetry I’ve Read
I am pretty certain that I haven’t read a poetry book this year, but the last one I did get my hands on was Love Her Wild by Atticus and I really, really enjoyed that one! I am not super big on those kinds of books, but I do enjoy them every now and then. Just please don’t ask me to review them, because I do not know how to do that.
What Book Most Influenced Your Life
I believe that Quiet by Susan Cain really opened up my world to non-fiction books as well as to a better understanding of my personal needs as an introvert. It wasn’t an attack on extroverts, but it simply showcased how different the groups function from each other. It really explained how traits like shyness and social awkwardness aren’t necessarily part of being an introvert (although they obviously can be), but it’s much more about where you get your energy from and that introverts need to recharge by themselves after social events.
Book That Made You Ugly Cry
Pff … I don’t know? I just lately revisted some of my favourite quotes of Call Me By Your Name and that always makes me cry. But it wasn’t really “ugly crying with a scrunched up face” but rather “beautiful silent tears rolling down your face” instead. So, here’s Elio doing the real crying instead:
Book That Made You Laugh
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before FOR SURE! I giggled my way through a lot of this book. (Also, YAY for the recent news that the movie is getting a sequel!!! I can’t wait to settle in for another cuteness overload.)
Character You’d Like to Be For a Day
I’d quite like to trade places with Juliet Ashton from The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. That woman is living the dream to be honest. She is an author, has found love in all the ways that count most and gets to live on a beautiful British island. What a life!
Book So Good You Dreamt About It
I dream A LOT! Many of you can confirm that whenever I share the weird stories my brain comes up with, but … I can’t recall a book being part of it.
Book You DNFed
I’d like to think that I don’t DNF books but rather just take a break from them. Does that count as an answer? It kind of has to …
What Book Are You Excited to Read
ALL the books! But I have especially kept an eye on Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan. It sounds right up my alley:
A girl who can speak to gods must save her people without destroying herself.
A prince in danger must decide who to trust.
A boy with a monstrous secret waits in the wings.
Together, they must assassinate the king and stop the war.
In a centuries-long war where beauty and brutality meet, their three paths entwine in a shadowy world of spilled blood and mysterious saints, where a forbidden romance threatens to tip the scales between dark and light

I TAG THEE
I tag whoever wants to take part in this tag! It’s a lot of fun, although it lets you face some really tough questions.
So, what did you think of my answers? Have you read any of the books I mentioned? Could you relate to the struggle to find an answer sometimes? Let me know in the comments below!
