Trailers You Might Have Missed … (Jan 21-27)

This week went by fairly quickly. I feel like I have gotten some of my reading mojo back as well as motivation to write, which makes me extremely happy. Here’s to hoping it lasts for a while, but now on to the new trailers:

Fast Color

This is legit the movie I am most looking forward to from the candidates we get this week. It looks stunning!

The Death and Life of John F. Donovan

Like, I am here for it, but they started the dramatic music way too early (and I say this with the utmost love for Woodkid).

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile

Can we not glorify Bundy? Why is this music so upbeat? Dude is evil!

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind

I really like the title and it looks like a great movie.

The White Crow

I like ballet movies and I caught a glimpse of Sergei Polunin and he is a formidable dancer.

Drunk Parents

Meh. I very much doubt I would pay for a ticket at the movie theater to see this.

Run the Race

This, too, does look like a TV movie.

The Unicorn

I just clicked for Lucy Hale in this one.

The sound on this one is off somehow, but Noah Schnapp and food! I am into it.

TV Shows

American Gods (Season 2)

I am pumped! As long as it has Mad Sweeney, I will tune in.

The Umbrella Academy

I CANNOT WAIT!!! It looks so good and I am seriously counting the days until it releases. Bless Gerard Way!

The Boys

Another comic book adaptation and I am IN!

The Spanish Princess

I looks good. Starz knows what to do with historical subjects.

Bless this Mess

It does look like a bit of a mess indeed.

The Enemy Within

I shared a teaser before and I still don’t care about the topic, but here you go.

What are you watching? Did you like anything you saw here today? Let’s talk about it in the comments below!

  1. Hi Kat.

The Umbrella Academy looks slightly kiddie, but still cool enough to watch.

‘The Boys’ appears interesting. I have a thing for indie, alternate-universe superhero/super-villain stories. William J. Jackson has a series of steampunk superheros. I read a couple of ‘Dane Curse’ stories. My favorite, and what appears to be more similar to this storyline is ‘The Astounding Antagonists’.
I tried to write my own superhero story, but failed miserably.

    Happy Trails!

    • Hmm, could you elaborate on what you feel is kiddie about the Umbrella Academy? It’s just that it doesn’t look like that to me at all. It’s about the apocalypse, with destruction and chaos and dark themes.

  2. Hey Kat. Hope you are doing well.
I caught the trailer for The Umbrella Academy and I love the premise. Can’t wait for that.

Fast Color looks interesting, but I love the fact that Gugu Mbatha-Raw and David Straithirn are in it. I really believe that they are incredibly underrated actors.

I saw the trailer for the Ted Bundy movie and didn’t think much about it at first, but after looking at some comments online I can understand why people are upset that this movie seems to be glorifying Bundy.

The Boys looks gritty and cool as well. Intrigued to see how it plays out.

I think The Enemy Within is really exciting. I am an absolute sucker for Crime Procedurals. CSI, NCIS, Magnum P.I., Hawaii Five-0, I absolutely love all these shows and this one reminds me of The Blacklist. Sorry for the long comment haha. Hope you have a good day.

    • Gugu Mbatha-Raw is an actual queen! I am amazed by every performance she does, because she delivers 110% each time.
I am glad you found some trailers and promos you liked. Even if I am not into things like The Enemy Within, I share them so that people like you, who do like that kind of show, can find them πŸ™‚

  3. I’ve not heard of Fast Color before but it looks really good. Have you watched ‘Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes’ on Netflix yet? I watched it over the weekend and was completely enthralled.

  4. The whole Ted Bundy thing is creepy. I do this Zac Efron playing him is interesting. I would watch for that reason. Probably not the entire movie, but still. It’s like how they cast Ross Lynch as Jeffrey Dahmer. So weird to have Disney kids as serial killers.

  5. Is that Tom Hopper i see in the Umbrella Academy?
I can’t stand the reactions I’ve seen from Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Ted Bundy was a vile human being and how people are chosing to overlook that fact is beyond me.
