Trailers You Might Have Missed … (April 15-21)

Even on holiday back at home in Vienna and on Easter Sunday, I am not shirking my responsibility of showing you the latest trailers. In addition to that, I also want to thank everyone for participating in the poll on Twitter about whether I should do reaction videos and for what content. I am super psyched to see so many people interested and am trying to figure out the technical details now. If anyone has recommendations on software (preferably free or cheap), I am all ears!

Avengers: Endgame

Playmobil the Movie

I mean, if Lego gets a movie, Playmobil can do one too.

Hobbs & Shaw

The whole Fast and Furious franchise and now spin-offs have just become so ridiculous at some point.

Dark Phoenix

I so hope this doesn’t suck.

I think I have shared this before? But I still want to watch it.

Movies like that are not my cup of tea, but Jaime Bell gives another intense performance.

This movie got a lot of attention at film festivals for a reason.

Vita and Virginia

More f/f content.

A Violent Separation

I feel very meh about a lot of the trailers today.

We Have Always Lived in a Castle

I feel like this might work for fans of Stoker for some reason. So, beware, it’s creepy but … shirtless Sebastian Stan? It’s up to you.

The Perfection

This is super creepy.

TV Shows

Younger (Season 6)

Who else forgot everything that happened in Season 5 but is still really pumped?

When They See Us

My heart breaks at the fact that this happened for real.

Not 100% into it, but I am most likely going to watch it anyway.

Swamp Thing

DC is just on fire releasing one show after the other.

The Boys

I hope this show sticks for Karl Urban’s sake. His stuff gets cancelled a lot.

The InBetween

It looks a little like something I already know and watching crime shows bores me, so I don’t know.

Tuca & Bertie

For fans of Bojack Horseman but more upbeat?

iZombie (Final Season)

The 100 (Season 6)

Which of these movies or shows are you interested in? Let’s talk about it!

  1. A Violent Separation looks meh, but it has Been Robson and Brenton Thwaites in it so I hope the trailer is deceiving and it’s one of those hidden gems.

Dark Phoenix. I think Sophie Turner will be great as Jean/the phoenix. I just hope the rest of the story is up to par. If not I will be fuming.

  2. Thoughts:
    1. Avengers: Endgame: Advance ticket bought, and I’ll be arriving at the theater an hour early so I can get a good seat. Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong.
    2. Playmobil: They’ll make a movie out of anything this day so long as it has a brand name. I wonder where the movie about college sport teams’ merchandise is.
    3. Hobbs & Shaw: Still looks ridiculous, but I’ll see it. Hopefully the haka scene won’t be the highlight of the film like F8’s haka scene was.
    4. Dark Phoenix: It seems so wrong that this will be the X-Men series’ swan song.
    5. Skin: Looks intense
    6. Rafiki: Oh, this will make people cry.
    7. We Have Always Lived in the Castle: I might check it out, though I didn’t care for The Haunting of Hill House (the book; I haven’t seen the TV show).
    8. The Perfection: I’m sensing a folie a deux plotline. I’ll check it out when it releases.
    9. When They See Us: The trailer feels intense.
    10. Jinn: If it had more of a horror slant, I might see it.
    11. Swamp Thing: I hear fans have been clamoring for this. I hope it’s worth the wait.

BTW, I know you don’t care for horror, but I’m getting antsier every week without the trailer for IT: Chapter Two coming out. I mean, it’s less than five months away. What are they waiting for?

    • I watched Avengers Endgame yesterday and have many thoughts on it, but I am not sure I am ready to talk about them. Anyway, the comment section would be the wrong place for that.
Well, I still figure that Disney might put out their own X-Men franchise at some point. Kevin Feige already has a 5 year plan for what’s next for Marvel. Wouldn’t put it past him to include mutants.
I hear the Haunting of Hill House show is really good. I am so tempted to watch it because of some actors but I am also a scaredy cat …

  3. I couldn’t be more HYPE for Endgame if I tried!! I really hope dark phoenix doesn’t suck too. ooh that looks like a really well done adaptation of we have always looked in a castle… which means I probably can’t watch it cos it’ll be too scary 😉

    • I watched Endgame and I am still exhausted from it. I can’t stop thinking about it and wondering if I am really happy with it (cause in part, I guess I am not).
I can’t do scary stuff either, but … Sebastian Stan … with well known faces, I can handle the scary stuff better.
