So … I didn’t read anything this month. Or wait! Let me rephrase that … I didn’t finish any book this past month, because I actually did read something but I didn’t enjoy it very much and now I am stuck again. Honestly, I don’t feel super happy about the amount of books I am behind on in my Goodreads challenge (currently 6), but I also don’t know when exactly I’d want to make time for reading. It’s a struggle, but maybe it will happen again.
In general, April just sort of flew by and I don’t know why exactly. There was one week I spent back home in Vienna but I was also glad to hear from some people at work that they had missed me while I was gone. Other than that, I can’t really think of a notable thing that happened (barring the return of Game of Thrones and the release of Endgame).
The one thing I did figure out though, was that I want to make reaction videos. I am sort of clear on the content I want to cover but currently trying to get all the technical stuff I need, because having a Microsoft operating system puts me at a bit of a disadvantage in terms of editing and the likes. So, if any of you have tips about software or a good cheap microphone and/or camera, hit me up! (Also taking emails on the matter, if you prefer that, under: impossiblegirlblog@gmail.com)
THINGS I LIKED THIS MONTH
I want to say Game of Thrones, but there’s going to be a full post on that matter once the season is over and we are all done with the song of Ice and Fire. I also have a lot of feels about the new Avengers movie, but will likely do a discussion post about it too. So, I’d rather talk about other things, such as the revival of VERONICA MARS!!!
I was shocked when I found out how many of you didn’t watch the show, because I was obsessed with it growing up. I loathed missing an episode, as there was no way to check them out elsewhere and I owned the entire DVD box set. Veronica was just such a role model for me and never ceased to be one, even when she made mistakes. I loved that we got a movie, even if it was mostly fan service, but I am even more pumped about it returning to TV. Please, for the love of all good television, do check out the origins of that show if you haven’t yet, because there is so much to unpack and I am sure the new stuff will be en par with the first two seasons rather than the third (it had flaws and I will admit to that).
Another thing I truly loved was the Netflix movie Someone Great! Aside from a fabulous cast, I liked how simple the story was. You don’t always need a gazillion things to happen for something to be … well, great. To me, it was both beautiful and sad, but also quiet and loud. It showed how people who have been with you for a while shape you and how parting isn’t easy but sometimes necessary and how you can love someone even if they don’t turn out to be the one. Not everything has to be ugly, even if it hurts. I hope I didn’t give anything away here, but this was not just a depressive movie, it was really fun and I can only wholeheartedly recommend it!

I hope you aren’t too disappointed in this rather short recap of the month! I wish you all a good start into the new month of May!
I am beyond excited for the revival of Veronica Mars! It’s one of my all-time favorite shows, and I can’t believe how underappreciated it still is today.

I am so glad I am not the only one! Veronica Mars is just one of the best and way more people should watch it.

Totally agree on Someone Great! Loved the story, it was so real life instead of movie life. 🙂

Exactly! That’s why I loved it so much.

I used to watch Veronica Mars from time to time but I never got all the episodes. I think I’ll start watching from scratch! I really like Kristen Bell.
Don’t worry about your Goodreads challenge, love. Reading comes and goes, and those numbers only make us feel guilty! x

YAS! Do a whole Veronica Mars binge 😀 Kristen Bell is amazing and so is the rest of the cast. I heard they really got a majority of the OG cast back, so I am beyond pumped.

I’m sorry you didn’t find the time and right books to read this last month, I hope that the right books will come along soon and that you will find an hit read sometime soon ❤
I'm SO excited about Veronica Mars as well ahhhhhhhh I loved this show so, so very much and can't wait to see what will happen in this revival, even if I am a little nervous about it.
I watched Someone Great last weekend, actually and I really enjoyed it – I wanted to cry at times because it was so bittersweet and sad, yet also hopeful and beautiful, too. I loved the cast and thought it was a really, really good movie 🙂
I hope you will have a beautiful May, Kat ❤ ❤ ❤

I think a lot of people who hadn’t watched Veronica Mars as a show did themselves a disservice by going into the movie. That one was more like fan service and trying to do something nice with the OG cast, but THIS is a real revival and maybe it will inspire more people to check out the show from the beginning.
Yeah, Someone Great isn’t all happy go lucky, but it felt more real than a lot of other movies do. I appreciated that so much.

I’m sure you’ll still be able to catch up on your Goodreads challenge Kat, there’s still a good eight months of the year left that’s plenty of time (or maybe not considering how quickly the first four months of the year have flown by).
I am loving Game of Thrones at the moment, and oh I saw Endgame and really really loved that film (it pretty much seems to be all everyone is talking about at the moment but I love it because there’s so much I want to talk about it too). Either way I’ll be looking forwards to your full discussion posts for both of those. I hope you have a good May Kat. 🙂 ❤

I am not sure I will actually be able to catch up hahaha I just really can’t seem to find the time to read anymore. But we will see. I am open to anything.
I hope I can get those discussion posts out soon (well, Game of Thrones probably only when the entire season is done) 🙂 I just need the right way to phrase stuff and put my thoughts into words.

You never know. You may find one month you go on a reading spree or something! 😀
Well either way I’ll be looking forwards to reading them when they are done. 🙂

Great wrap up, Kat! I honestly haven’t heard much about Someone Great, but it sounds so sweet! I’ll have to check it out! I agree that wonderful stories don’t need to be oversaturated with exciting events to be enjoyable. Sometimes less is more. 🙂

I hope you go watch Someone Great. It’s one of those movies where nothing much happens, but the situation is real and the characters are real and you just want to spend some time with them. Does that make sense?

That makes perfect sense! I love experiencing those types of stories, so I’m sure I’ll like it! 😊
