Trailers You Might Have Missed … (Sept 30 – Oct 6)

I know I JUST posted the monthly wrap-up, but that doesn’t mean we are going to skip the Sunday-trailer-post. No, no, no. It just means two posts in rapid succession.

Birds of Prey

I always like the DC trailers, but unfortunately I don’t always like the DC movies.

6 Underground

HOW WAS THIS MADE FOR NETFLIX!? I feel like the action is definitely meant for a massive movie theatre screen. (And I say that with all due respect and love for Netflix)

Free Guy

The Gentlemen

This is something I can actually get behind. The cast, the gangster vibes, the humour, I am into it.

The Personal History of David Copperfield

My first thoughts still always go to the magician … which this is just definitely not about.

Richard Jewell

Not particularly my thing.

The Cat and the Moon

I don’t know what to do with this movie?

I Lost My Body

So intense and weird, but great animation! Also, it definitely gives off Addam’s Family vibes.

TV Shows

His Dark Materials

I feel like we don’t actually need more info on this show, but that it would be better to just let us watch it.

The Unlisted

I feel like this looks too much like they are all acting rather than experiencing this.

Marvel’s Runaways (Season 3)

I am SO pumped!!!

Lost in Space (Season 2)

I actually really enjoyed the first season, so I am looking forward to more.

The Hook Up Plan (Season 2)

YAAAAS! I wasn’t sure if they were going to continue it.

I have no idea what this is about.

Outlander (Season 5)

I mean … they definitely haven’t aged enough for the years that have passed, but it’s looking good.

Manifest (Season 2)

If you don’t want a recap of S1, then don’t watch this.

Riverdale (Season 4)

I can’t even watch this with a straight face.

The Expanse (Season 4)

I cannot speak to this show, as I do not watch it.

Insatiable (Season 2)

Why does this even exist?

Did you see anything you’d like to watch? Let’s chat!

    • I wish I could recommend something similar, but Handmaid’s Tale really is a brand of its own. However, if you want something happier with cool women, I’d like to suggest The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

  1. A great selection, but I don’t know if it is me or films get crazier out there. I mean, all of the above, but especially a severed hand in “I Lost My Body” is trying to find its master in the backdrop to a love story? Really? Also, I did not expect The Personal History of David Copperfield to be so humorous.

    • I think films are definitely getting crazier, but maybe it’s an industry thing. Most mainstream films are adaptations or reboots or remakes, so maybe, in order to stand out, you have to be really out there with your vision.

  2. I have not been up to date with trailers recently at all so this was so helpful, thank you!! I just watched the Birds of Prey trailer and I can never work out if I like Harley Quinn but I still want to see the movie but I’m with you that I don’t always like DC movies– I think they can do good shows though!!
I didn’t realise that Outlander trailer was out but it all looks very intense– I’m excited to see what happens. My favourite character is Lord John Grey so I hope we get to see more from him but you are so right about them not ageing I had the same conversation the other day. I will have to show my mum the trailer as she absolutely loves the show, ahah!!

    • I am always happy to hear that people enjoy these posts. It’s literally the only consistent feature on my site haha
And I have to agree that DC does really good TV shows. I have been to the set of all of the CW based ones and they were incredibly nice on top of it all.
I don’t think you are alone in loving Lord John Grey, so I am sure they’ll incorporate him more, but this was just a teaser after all.

      • Yes it is great!!! 😍 haha!!
Oh that’s so cool that you’ve been to the sets and knowing that they are nice just makes you love the shows even more. I need to catch up with them though because I’m seriously behind πŸ˜‚
No I don’t think I’m alone either– I’m excited to see more. It is so nice to have such a nice character! Yes thats the only problem with teasers, you want more πŸ˜‚

  3. I am still so bitter about the fact that they’re just completely ignoring Barbara Gordon in Birds of Prey, despite the fact that she’s the one that established the team in the first place.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Lost in Space, so sign me up for this next season.

Taika, Ryan, Jodie, and Joey is a match-up I never knew I needed in my life, and I love it!

    • I am not surprised about anything with DC anymore. That universe is so inconsistent.

Lost in Space was also a surprise hit for me. I wasn’t too excited about it, but then really loved it and can’t wait for the new episodes. I mean, there was a cliffhanger at the end after all.

Free Guy will be epic, no matter what the movie is about.
