I was at a comedy show tonight, so I almost actually forgot to do this post. But it is still Sunday and I am still on time, so my record stays untainted! Here we go!
Movies
Soul
YES! YES! This already looks amazing.
The Banker
Here for it!
The Knight before Christmas
So much cheese! Netflix is really banking on the Vanessa-Christmas-movies.
Hala
This looks REALLY good!
Wendy
Peter Pan-inspired always has my attention, but this seems intriguingly realistic and dangerous and feral.
The Invisible Man
SO creepy, but I … think I want to watch it? What is happening to me?
Color out of Space
Okay, I am back! This is also creepy and I don’t feel like I want to see it.
Grand Isle
Isn’t that the beau from Dumplin’?
The Two Popes
Didn’t I share this already? Was it just a teaser?
The Mandela Effect
This actually looks like a low-key good scifi movie.
Knives and Skin
I don’t think this is for me.
TV Shows
Reprisal
Said it before and will say it again, I am all in for this show!
Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings
I like the idea of making episodes out of songs.
A Christmas Carol
Sure, why not? That story has been told so many times, why not once more?
Merry Happy Whatever
It’s like Disney all over …
Briarpatch
Not that into detective stuff anymore at this point.
The Accident
No, thank you. The topic seems like such a downer.
Servant
How can I nope out of here permanently?
The Magicians (Season 5)
I am not sure I am still on board with this show …
Did you see anything you like here? Let’s chat!
Thoughts:
1. Soul: So it’s a feel-good ghost story with a positive message. And one of the spirits did the Pennywise dance.
2. Wendy: I’m kind of interested.
3. The Invisible Man: Oddly, I don’t want to see this. Maybe I’m just tired of Blumhouse films. The majority of them are overly reliant on jump scares and cheesy effects. On the bright side, I’m happy to see you interested in a horror film. My evil plan is working!
4. The Color out of Space: You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to see this film. I’m a huge fan of HP Lovecraft, and I can’t wait to see how this film adapts one of my favorite stories by him. Also, my evil plan isn’t working. Dammit.
5. Grand Isle: That is one mismatched couple. One looks like a 1940’s femme fatale. The other is Nicolas Cage.
6. The Mandela Effect: I don’t believe in this phenomena, but I’ll see this film. And for once, they made a film based on a phenomena that doesn’t come out after the phenomena lost all popularity and relevance (*cough* Slender Man *cough*).
7. A Christmas Carol: Another one? Why not adapt someone else’s work for once? Not jealous at all, by the way. 😉
8. Servant: I’m kind of sad I don’t have Apple TV, but at the same time, Shamaylan’s record is patchy at times. So no great loss.

Sorry for being super late with responding to comments, but I am surprised you aren’t into Invisible Man, I think it looks fantastic. But I like the psychological element to it and maybe that it is not your thing as much?

Well, that and Blumhouse films tend to be fairly predictable. This trailer gives away so much, the only question is where the jumpscares are hidden.

I still believe that the suspense will be great with this one.

We’ll see. Sometimes Blumhouse does an amazing job, like they did with Halloween last year or Ma earlier this year. At other times…well, you get 2016’s Incarnate.

I saw the trailer for Soul and I think it is going to have such a good overall message plus I heard that AJR’s music is going to be in it and I love their music so I am so excited!!
The Knight Before Christmas looks so cheesy but I kind of love it, haha!! I kind of want there to be a Vanessa Hudgens Christmas movie every year now, it will become a tradition!!
I actually can’t believe they are doing another Christmas Carol, haha!!

I think so too! Soul just looks lovely
Vanessa Hudgens really is becoming a kind of Christmas staple for Netflix haha I’d like to see her return every year haha

I can get behind another Christmas Carol adaptation, especially when Tom Hardy is featured in it, and it might put the grinches out there in a festive mood haha.
Now, did I just see Anthony Mackie and Nicholas Hoult in the same film!? I am living for this!
Vanessa Hudgens is like the new poster girl for cheesy Christmas movies.

Did you see Tom Hardy in the trailer though? Cause I didn’t .. but maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention.
The Banker looks so cool! I cannot wait for that movie.
