In my humble opinion, we have some really exciting big trailers this week. It’s never easy to say what will release, but good content eventually keeps coming. I, for example, spent all of Friday watching Reprisal (a new hulu show) and I think I might just have to go back to doing currently watching posts, because that show is 100% worth talking about! Anyway, here’s what I have for you this week:
Movies
Mulan
I have sort of distanced myself from the live action remakes of Disney. So, I am not saying this looks bad, I am just saying that my interest in all of those movies is pretty low.
Free Guy
When they did the cast announcement with Ryan Reynolds, Taika Waititi, Joe Keery and Jodie Comer, I was already on board. But this trailer? It just sealed the deal.
Black Widow
If only this movie had been made … I don’t know? 5-7 years ago? I’d have been much more excited … I am having a hard time getting myself to care.
Wonder Woman 1984
I am a little too early for the full trailer, but I will include it next week for sure.
James Bond: No Time to Die
I am just waiting to hear the song for this movie.
Togo
Disney is really banking on that animal content.
Troop Zero
I like the look of this. It’s funny and reminds me of a less stylised Moonrise Kingdom or something.
Greed
This cast!!! I cannot even …
The Assistant
I was wondering when someone would make being an assistant into a thriller-esque movie.
TV Shows
Soundtrack
I always say I don’t like musical shows, but then I am completely enchanted by this.
Katy Keene
I hope this isn’t gonna be like Riverdale, even if it’s a spin-off…
AJ and the Queen
Looks fun to me.
Messiah
Religious content and I don’t always mix well, but this does look intriguing.
The Boys (Season 2)
I am so ready for this wild ride to continue.
Lost in Space (Season 2)
I am so amped for this, because S1 caught me completely off guard and then I loved it.
YOU (Season 2)
I can’t really see Joe in LA, so this is gonna be interesting.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Season 3 Date Announcement)
Money Heist / Casa de Papel (Season 4 Date Announcement)
The Magicians (Season 5)
Me: I like it when there are actual consequences and characters die.
Also me: I hope they bring Q back …
Did you see anything you liked on this list? Will you be watching something from on here? Let’s chat!
Thoughts:
1. Mulan: Yeah, I’m just about done with Disney live action remakes as well. And I feel like this is a growing trend among more mature movie-goers. Sadly, it’s the kids that’ll keep it going, so…yay for ten more years of remakes, I guess.
2. Free Guy: This looks like something I’d enjoy on DVD with popcorn and a bottle of wine.
3. Black Widow: About freaking time, and I’m pumped.
4. Wonder Woman 1984: Excuse me, the trailer should have dropped by now. I’m going to go find it.
5. James Bond: No Time to Die: I’m not as big a Bond fan as I was in my teens, but I’ll go see it and enjoy the escapist fantasy of it all.
6. Togo: I know the story behind this film, so I’m interested to see how it does. Maybe I’ll check it out when it releases.
7. The Assistant: I’m getting a MeToo, Jeffrey Epstein kind of vibe from this. Or is that just me?
8. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Woo-hoo! Can’t wait!

I haven’t even watched all the live action Disney stuff, I am just over it. But a lot of them are actually made for adults and not kids and more adults than kids watch it. If we take Lion King for example, their age restriction was much higher in Germany than expected (I think it was 6), so parents usually don’t take their little kids in it.

So many wonderful trailers in December; Christmas came early for movie/TV series fans! π I’m definitely excited to see how our ladies (Black Widow and Wonder Woman) will do in their new movies. I just hope the latter won’t get bashed by critics for the wrong reasons… Also curious to see James Bond and where it’ll go next, especially with a female bond in sight! Thanks for sharing, Kat! π

I am glad someone is excited for Black Widow, because for me that movie just comes way too late. Also ScarJo just isn’t one of my favourite people if we are being honest haha But I do love the look of WW84, especially after I’ve seen the full trailer.

I donβt like ScarJo as an actress either actually π Iβm more looking forward to the story and what it will reveal for the next phase in the MCU hahahah

A lot of big trailers have been released this week!! I thought that too!!
I LOVED THE TRAILER FOR FREE GUY!! I was so glad it got released as it was one of my most anticipated for 2020!!
I was disappointed in the Black Widow trailer too to be honest!!
Ah.. yes the James Bond song, I wonder who it will be?!?! The trailer looked really good which I was surprised I felt that why because I was disappointed in Spectre!!
I really want to watch the boys but I still need to get Amazon Prime ππ

I am just SO excited for Free Guy! It looks like such a fun movie with a great cast.
In terms of James Bond, I wasn’t really feeling Spectre either, but I really liked Skyfall. I think I only like every other one haha

I also really liked Casino Royale, mostly because it wasn’t very Bond-y at all haha just a great spy movie.

I had the exact same feeling when it came to Mulan. I’m just getting really tired of Disney capitalising on these live-action remakes.
If I had to choose between Wonder Woman and Black Widow, I probably would have to say Wonder Woman. This Black Widow film should have been made 5 years ago and since we know how her story ends, why do we really need to watch this one?
THE BOYS!!! That looks as twisted as ever and it’s basically confirming that no character on that show is sane.

Most of the time, when I actually do watch a live-action remake, I don’t even end up enjoying it. It’s just another cash-grab.
For now, I’d also choose Wonder Woman. I am sure that a lot of people in the Black Widow movie did a great job, but it’s just coming years too late and I don’t see how it would be a truly necessary movie for the upcoming MCU phase.
THE BOYS!!! Did we ever think there were sane characters tho?
