I hope you had a good week back at … life (?) after all the holiday fuzz. I haven’t looked at the list of trailers beforehand, but I hope we got some good stuff, because the past weeks were a bit lacking for my taste. Let’s go!
Movies
Birds of Prey
It looks like it’s actually going to be fun, but the DC trailers always do.
The New Mutants
So they actually ARE going to eventually release that movie. They’ve had it on hold for ever now.
Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made
I kind of dig the weirdness.
Standing Up, Falling Down
I like indie comedy movies.
Spy Intervention
Why does it look so corny and like it’s from a whole other decade (and I am not talking about the 10s)?
A Simple Wedding
Sure, whatever. This will probably be straight to VoD.
Waiting for Anya
I know Noah is a good actor, but the accent? Not sure about it.
My Hindu Friend
I can’t even imagine Willem Dafoe in a casual non-intense role anymore.
Balloon
This is a good movie and I get to say that as a former employee of the distribution company haha
TV Shows
October Faction
Netflix is doing GREAT with comic book adaptations, so I am looking forward to this already.
Locke & Key
Another comic book adaptation and it’s going to be creepy af, but I am kind of ready (I hope).
Ragnarok
I am so here for this!
The Baker and the Beauty
This could be nice fun! But I don’t necessarily trust ABC to keep this show going for a whole season.
Devs
It looks creepy and weird but also SO cool!
Tommy
I think it’s funny that Thomas Sadoski is playing the mayor of Tommy.
Independant
Fran Drescher just always brings me right back to my childhood with The Nanny.
Sex Education (Season 2)
A little birdy told me we will actually get asexual rep this season and I am hyped.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Part 3)
This is more of a music video than anything else, but who cares at this point.
This Is Us (Season 4B)
I haven’t watched it in such a long time …
Did something catch your eye? Would you like to watching something from this list? Let’s chat!
I really need to finish the locke and key series… why are comics so expansive 😣 I do have the audiobook of it all though, which kinda sucks but I guess will have to do for now. I do like the look of the trailer, will def be checking it out.

I’ve only read the first volume, so it’s not like I am totally up to speed haha but I am still looking forward to the show!

Thoughts:
1. Birds of Prey: I’m looking forward to it. But as you said, DC trailers always look good. And despite their recent track record, I’m still preparing myself for a Suicide Squad repeat.
2. The New Mutants: Yes! Yes! YES! And I hope they somehow manage to wrap this into the MCU. It’s doubtful they will, but I can dream.
3. October Faction: For some reason, I feel like the Buffy fandom is going to get a kick out of this. Which includes me, so I’ll probably watch it at some point.
4. Locke & Key: Bring it on!
5. The Baker & The Beauty: Yeah, this feels more suited to a Lifetime miniseries than to a full TV show looking for multiple seasons.
6. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Yes! Yes! Yes! I will watch Witcher before this comes out.

The track record with me actually enjoying the DC movies is … very low to say the least. I prefer their TV shows.
I very much doubt they’ll include the mutants officially. I think it’s too late for that.
What exactly makes you think of Buffy with October Faction? I am curious.
Hope you enjoy the Witcher! Remember it’s a show that is supposed to be binged without too long breaks between episodes.

For October Faction, probably the demons and the teenagers wanting an average life despite their weirdness.

Hmm … yeah, I never think of Buffy as a teen thing, probably cause I watched it so late and didn’t originally know it started in High School

I get it.

This reminds me. I should continue Sabrina season 1… hahahaha.
Also, so nice to see the Falling Guys actor in Locke & Key!
And all these Netflix show trailers are so new to me. I’m going to live inside of Netflix this year too… darn it.

I am not the biggest fan of Sabrina, or I wasn’t? But I do love Nicholas Scratch and since he was more prominent in S2 and will be important in the new one too, I am here for it haha
Amazon, Hulu, AppleTV and Disney+ and whatnot surely have good stuff coming up too, but they release trailers only very close to the actual release of their shows, if at all.
