If you are here, you, too, have survived the year that was January. I will do a proper monthly wrap-up in the upcoming days though and just treat you to some trailers today (although I am afraid most of the super bowl trailers will have to wait until next week). Let’s go!
Movies
Fast 9
Read this AFTER you’ve watched the trailer:
I have grieved Han since Tokyo Drift, where he was my absolute favourite character, and now he has the audacity to just show up snacking??? I really thought I could be done with this franchise, but now I need to know the explanation.
The Photograph
This remains one of my most anticipated movies this year.
A Quiet Place 2
I seriously cannot wait for this movie.
Straight Up
This looks genuinely interesting.
Burden
It’s really a different trailer from the first one, but it looks intense still.
Rocks
Looks authentic! Definitely the kind of movies that should be made.
Holly Slept Over
This … looks like a disaster?
The Jesus Rolls
Ooooh, this is the Big Lebowski sequel?
The Plot Against America
I love that Winona is on our screens more again.
Swallow
Did not expect this to become SO creepy??
Calm with Horses
No actual horses in this one…
The Booksellers
Documentary of the week.
TV Shows
Council of Dads
I like the look of this. It has a wholesome quality to it.
Queen Sono
It looks cool! She’s like a female James Bond.
Followers
Social media is a cruel mistress.
The Pale Horse
Kaya Scodelario AND Rufus Sewell!
The Fugitive
I think I have seen too many things like this already.
Good Girls (Season 3)
Poor Brio fans, but there is no way Rio has left the show. NO WAY!
Love Is Blind
Netflix is really out there trying to jump into the reality TV show game a la MTV trash.
Did you see a trailer you liked? Let’s chat!
Thoughts:
1. Fast & Furious 9: How? HOW? If they introduce necromancy into this series, I may freak. Then again, magic and the supernatural is maybe the one thing they haven’t done yet in this franchise, so that’s possible. Which would be hilarious, considering my last published short story involved watching the F&F films for research.

I am pretty sure there was no way he could have just survived that … but we also didn’t know Dom had a brother all this time, even though he goes on about how important family is above all else … so yeah. Still don’t think they’ll do anything supernatural though.

Me either. Still, should be interesting to see how they explain that away.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t make any sense whatsoever. I enjoy the debate on whether they should have left that reveal a secret for people do discover while watching the movie on release day though. I personally think it was smart, because like myself, many people will watch the movie to find out how he survived, but at the same time it would have been KILLER to find out about it in the film.

We’ll just have to wait till summer to find out.

Oops, accidentally pressed the comment button. Second thought: I didn’t know they were making a film adaptation of The Plot Against America. That book is part of the reason why I studied WWII in college. I want to see it. And three: yeah, Swallow took a turn for the dark.

Oh, I had no idea. I actually never heard of The Plot Against America before, but then we don’t focus much on America when we study anything WWII related haha

It’s a great novel. If you ever have the time, I recommend it.
