Trailers You Might Have Missed … (Feb 10-16)

It’s Sunday and we all know what that stands for on the blog – new trailers! Since I have been posting quite a bit lately, I don’t think we need a catch up on things, let’s just dive right in!

The Batman

This is a camera test more than anything else, but I wouldn’t even be mad if that’s all they released. No trailers about the storyline or so, just camera tests with different characters. I’d be so into that.

The Green Knight

I AM 100% HERE FOR THIS! 100%!!

The French Dispatch

I am Wes Anderson trash and I will watch this very Anderson-esque tale inspired by The New Yorker!

Hooking Up

I like the male/female role reversal we have going on here and the serious subtext!

After We Collide (After 2)

It looks steamier than the first one? I am basing this all on the trailer, I have to admit that I did not watch that stuff. Also … was that Dylan Sprouse? And I know Candice King is in it too …

The Secret Dare to Dream

Okay … so, not to bash anyone who believes in the book, but … this is a work of fiction and I’d like to consider it as such and ignore the book part? Cause it looks cute, but in a “everyday magic”-kind of way. I believe that it’s productive to go into situations with a positive mindset, but in no way can the power of thinking save your house from a natural disaster. Sorry, but no.

The Iron Mask

Look, I know this story, I just never expected to see it with Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan?

Not your typical romance movie.

10 Things We Should Do Before We Break Up

Not your typical romance movie, the second.

Run This Town

I just love Ben Platt.

Military Wives

This feels like a bit of a niche audience movie, but I can see some people really enjoying this.

Standing Up Falling Down

I wasn’t sure if I had included that already, so here we go again, just to make sure. (Cause in this house we support Ben Schwartz in all his endeavors)

The Stranger

I have a hard time taking Dane DeHaan seriously, through no fault of his own, but he just has such a young face.

Cut Throat City

Not my thing.

TV Shows

Noughts & Crosses

FINALLY!!! I am not even joking, but I waited over A YEAR for this promo alone. The BBC had it in their 2019 line up and then never released the show. You can’t deny me access to Josh Dylan content for that long.

Sophie going dark again!

The Letter to the King

I mean, why not? It doesn’t look like it would be off brand for me to watch.

Altered Carbon (Season 2)

Honestly, I didn’t even watch the full trailer, because I was quite happy with the mysterious teaser last week and it’s releasing soon anyway, so I am here for it.

Killing Eve (Season 3 Date Announcement)

Do I really have to say anything?

Sex Education (Season 3 Announcement)

Castlevania (Season 3)

I think I watched the first season of it, but it wasn’t exactly my thing.

The Protector (Season 3)

I know a couple people who will be happy about more of this!

Stranger Things (Season 4)

Who all knew that a certain someone wasn’t dead?

What do you think? Is there something you’d like to watch? Let’s chat!

  1. Thoughts:
    1. The Batman: I’m not as psyched as everyone else yet–I’m going to need more for that–but there’s potential there.
    2. The Green Knight: I read the original story in college and I’m intrigued. Especially when you consider the original Green Knight tale was a comedy, not a dark fantasy. But hey, I’ve seen lighter stories turned dark do well before, so this could be amazing.
    3. The Iron Mask: It looks better than King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, but just as cheesy.
    4. The Stranger: I see potential.
    5. Noughts and Crosses: I’m in. I hope they play it on BBC America.
    6. Castlevania: Yes! Yes! Yes!
    7. Stranger Things season 4: Well, that was expected. Still, I’m excited. Love this show!

Also, what did you think of the trailer for that David Copperfield movie? It looks funny, and it’s got Peter Capaldi, so maybe they’ll work in a Doctor Who joke somehow.

    • 1. I don’t know, I am into the cast for this Batman, so I am already in. It feels different and everything is an upgrade from Affleck.
      2. Honestly, just anything with Dev Patel screams excellence. I am especially drawn to the darkness in this one.
      3. I am just confused about the humour in the Iron Mask. That’s not what I have in mind thinking about the tale.
      5. I don’t know about that, but I am sure it will find its way to the US somehow.

I included Copperfield trailers already when they first came out, so I didn’t want to post the 3rd version. I am not really that much into the story, but obviously Dev Patel is a draw again. Not sure if they’d really think about including a Doctor Who reference though.

  2. NOUGHTS & CROSSES!!! OH HOW LONG WE’VE WAITED FOR THIS. I am ready for Josh Dylan and Jack Rowan to crush my heart to tiny little pieces haha.

I am stoked for the Batman. A lot of people i know we’re disgruntled by Patterson’s casting and here I blasting the I told you so’s. The test did remind me of daredevil though.

The Green Knight looks epic in every way. That is so down my alley and I love the twist they’ve put on the story.

I’m willing to give The Iron Mask a shot. It has potential so I’ll keep an eye on it.

    • YAAS! You are the only one as properly excited about Noughts and Crosses as I am!! We’ve really been kept waiting for that show.

I am stoked for Batman too! I have to admit that I never thought that Pattinson was an obvious choice, but I was always intrigued by it. And the rest of the cast just seems interesting too.

  3. Hooking Up seems fun, I hope they don’t butcher it. ๐Ÿ˜€ I have not seen most of these and I don’t tend to watch a lot of trailers but the one with Ben Platt also intrigues me, also nice to see Nina Dobrev in a movie, she has the skill but she has not had good movie roles besides the one she had in Perks of Being a Wallflower and that was such a small role.

    • I watch so many trailers, that I notice all the scenes they put in trailers and then sometimes don’t even have in the movies haha But yeah, Nina Dobrev didn’t make the smartest choices with her film career, but we shall see.
