Trailers You Might Have Missed … (Jan 4-10/2021)

I’ve been posting a lot of content ever since 2021 started, so I wanted to give you a bit of a break these past days. I am happy to say that I have been really motivated in terms of blogging again though and am even more happy that this week actually provides some new and decent trailers again! It’s been a while.

Movies

Malcolm & Marie

Thank you. Cannot wait. (Also, Alabama Shakes vibes in trailers are everything!)

Locked Down

I like the idea for this. A lockdown heist movie sounds awesome.

Finding ‘Ohana

Could be cute.

Outside the Wire

I feel like I shared this already, but it could have possibly just been a teaser.

Cherry

Usually Apple TV+ content is top notch, but this doesn’t tell me enough enough?

Lena and Snowball

This reminds me of Mia and the White Lion.

Music

I urge you to listen to people on the spectrum who have numerously voiced concerns about this movie. Sia originally hired an autistic actress, who got overwhelmed on the big set. Instead of making accommodation, she fired her and hired someone neurotypical instead. Sia also doesn’t seem to care about authentic representation or who she has hurt.

Son of the South

It looks like a White Saviour movie from the trailer, but with Spike Lee directing and this having played on Black American film festivals, I do hope that’s not the case. Cannot speak on it though!

First Blush

I bet this only marginally explores polyamory and then goes super traditional in the end.

TV Shows

Are You Afraid of the Dark?

This feels misplaced at nickelodeon

Losing Alice

Could be interesting.

The Sister

Could be wrong, but I thought this was already out in the UK.

Is there something on the list you would like to watch? Let’s talk!

  1. Thoughts:
Are You Afraid of the Dark: Curse of Shadows: I’ll be damned. I heard they were bringing this back, but this looks like more than just a normal remake or reboot. This looks like something I can get excited about.
    The Sister: Looks interesting.
