Trailers You Might Have Missed … (Jan 11-17/2021)

What a week! With shows slowly returning on networks, I have felt so much more excited about TV again. I didn’t realise how solemn it was to wait for Netflix releases every week. Anyway, let’s take a look at what else we can expect this year!

Movies

To All the Boys: Always and Forever

I HAVE UNTIL FEB 12 TO READ THE FINAL BOOK. Honestly, didn’t think it would release this soon.

The Map of Tiny Perfect Things

This looks like it will be my thing. I did not read the “Summer Days and Summer Nights” anthology book, but I might … because there’s some awesome authors featured in there and it has the short story the movie is based on.

Flora & Ulysses

It looks so cute! And I love seeing Danny Pudi as a villain.

Bliss

Okay, so, I get the resemblance to the Matrix, but it looks absolutely stunning and I want to watch it so bad! My former roommate’s husband did the cinematography (he also did it for Netflix’ upcoming Red Notice) and I think we should all support his career. So, watch it!

I Care a Lot

This looks SO good. Rosamund Pike just knows how to play morally questionable characters.

The United States vs. Billie Holiday

Looks brilliant!

Breaking News in Yuba County

Intriguing?

Barb and Star go to Vista del Mar

What. Is. This?

Cherry

Okay, so, this makes more sense than the first teaser, but … it looks like three movies crammed into one.

Cowboys

This honestly looks fantastic.

The World to Come

Lesbian love stories in historical settings are thriving.

A Love to Remember

Watch a remake of While You Were Sleeping in under three minutes.

Willy’s Wonderland

Looks like Cage is pretty busy again these days.

TV Shows

Beartown

I JUST reviewed the book (check it out here) and I said how much I would love to see this adapted and this show is going to WRECK me.

Kenan

I am not big on sitcoms, so, I don’t have much to say about this.

Young Rock

Also did not really need this?

The Equalizer

I … did not even watch the movies, but could be badass.

The Pembrokeshire Murders

I mean, Luke Evans is cool.

Clarice

I am not sure Silence of the Lambs is my forte either.

The Crew

I think they might want something like Ted Lasso but it’s nowhere near that, because this is just silly and not wholesome.

Firefly Lane

I am just … not excited for this? Although it totally fits my viewing profile.

Bonding (Season 2)

Did not expect to enjoy S1 as much as I did, but I really liked it, hence, I am excited.

For All Mankind (Season 2)

As much as I like alternate history and Apple TV+ content, I have to admit that I still haven’t watched the first season …

What would you like to watch from this list? Let’s chat!

  1. Thoughts:
    1. Bliss: Looks like it could be a real mindbending ride. Like Tenet, only it makes some sense and you can hear what people are saying.
    2. Willy’s Wonderland: They’re never going to get a Five Nights at Freddy’s movie made, but they’ll get a couple based on the same concept out every now and then. And this one, by merit of having Nicholas Cage, looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. They’re are actually going to be a number or great horror films this February, so I’m excited.
    3. Clarice: I’m still not over Hannibal being canceled. Also, I was never a fan of Clarice Starling as a character. And knowing what happens to her in the books after Silence doesn’t help. So I’m a little on the fence right now.
    4. The Equalizer: My sister loves the movies, so I bet this will be right up her alley.
