I really feel like we are getting more big trailers again, even though I am not sure everything will actually be open and ready in time – definitely not globally. Still, I enjoy the excitement that comes with bigger releases. Let’s check out this week’s offerings!
Movies
Fast and Furious 9 (F9)
This franchise is SO extra! I think it’s funny how they’re all talking about the new dude being Dom’s brother … I know Mia is in the movie too, but is she not related to him as well? She IS Dom’s sister. I think I just expect too much from the storytelling here. I’m just happy Han is still in it.
The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard
Did not expect THAT movie to get a sequel?
Army of the Dead
The trailer looks so fun, even though it is still weird to me that Matthias Schweighöfer is in this and will star in the prequel series to it.
A Cinderella Story: Starstruck
I LOVE the “original” Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff and I don’t mind the next one with Selena Gomez either, but woah, they just got worse and worse from there on out. And yet, I have watched all of them several times. What does that say about me? I will definitely tune in to see Michael Evans Behling as the hearthrob, that’s what.
The Water Man
This gives me huge I Kill Giants, Bridge to Terabithia and A Monster Calls Vibes – which were all amazing stories, be it on screen or as books.
Blast Beat
Looks really good, even if I wouldn’t think those dudes were in high school.
Flashback
This movie was once called the Education of Frederick Fitzell, which I thought sounded more unique.
Eat Wheaties
I think this actually looks nice.
Dance of the 41
Alfonso Herrera is a fantastic actor and a very kind person. I still remember when I once met him and he was so generous with his time, which made me want to support his career always. This looks good though and it being based on true events is interesting.
12 Mighty Orphans
It’s a mini Stargirl reunion.
Under the Stadium Lights
More Football content.
Riders of Justice
Almost didn’t recognize Mads there.
The Man in the Hat
This is one of those movies that’s nice when you haven’t traveled for a while and just want nice scenery.
Disney’s Launchpad (short film collection)
They look really good.
TV Shows
Fatma
Turkey is stepping up their Netflix game.
Mythic Quest (Season 2)
For those who don’t know, there was a special episode (Everlight) released last Friday to tie the last season to the new season. It was fantastic and beautiful and I CANNOT WAIT for what’s to come. Apple TV and their workplace comedies are everything to me.
Selena, the Series (Part 2)
I have to admit that I still haven’t watched the first one.
Elite (Part 4 – Date announcement)
I’m still so bitter about some developments here, but in the end I’ll definitely watch. I just miss Nadia and Lu. And I always wanted Nadia and Valerio to explore their friendship more and they didn’t even have any scenes together in S3 … not sure all those new people will be fun to have.
I used to love to love A Cinderella Story so so much! I watched it all the time 😂 I’m really excited for Elite but I’m so sad that Nadia, Carla en Lu won’t be there 😭😭. I was a big fan of the romance between Nadia & Guzman haha. Now Guzman will move on with someone else 😭💔

The OG Cinderella Story has my whole heart. The locker room scene is one I could have recited any day of the week if prompted to haha these new versions are just too corny and over the top, but I still watch them.
As for Guzman … our man was really like “I’ll wait for you” to Nadia and then this. I’M ANNOYED ALREADY

Thoughts:
1. F9: The only thing this franchise hasn’t done is take on the supernatural. And I look forward to this mindless fun.
2. Army of the Dead: Looks like fun.
3. The Water Man: Is it a horror film or a coming-of-age fantasy? I can’t tell.

I love the ridiculousness of Fast and Furious and all its spin offs and continuations, but my favourite is still Tokyo Drift, which is why I’m so happy Han is back haha
I think the Water Man is a coming of age story that deals with grief, hence the movies/books I mentioned as comparisons. But I could be wrong!
