I hope you all had a great week. As we’re nearing the end of May, I’ve done some reflecting and reorganizing of my life. We shall see what happens in June, but for now, this isn’t the monthly wrap-up, so let’s focus on the trailers instead! Here’s what I found:
Movies
Eternals
I have no words for how much I’m looking forward to this! ChloΓ© Zhao loves to work with natural lighting and wanted to do as much as possible on actual locations. They built that whole town, planted crops and installed a watering system. They put in the work for this to not look like every other Marvel movie. I’ve actually read a couple Eternals comics, but I think this is gonna be very different.
Gunpowder Milkshake
I HAVE WAITED SO LONG FOR THIS! I used to work for the production company while they filmed in Berlin and always wanted to see the finished product!!
Last Night in Soho
I’m incredibly excited for this movie!! I like what Wright does aesthetically with his movies and the cast is great.
The Tomorrow War
Not a Pratt fan, but I like this idea.
Infinite
This is a book adaptation and it sounds super interesting. Rumor has it that they wanted Chris Evans as the lead and now all I can think about is how it would have looked with him instead of Wahlberg. But the concept still interests me and I think I’d like to read the book before watching the movie.
Jungle Cruise
I feel like they’ve been advertising this movie forever.
The Birthday Cake
I love a good story that takes place during one night.
Lansky
More crime stuff.
Ali & Ratu Ratu Queens
This looks like it could be lovely.
The House of Flowers, the Movie
I love how no one expected them to make a movie.
Old
This is the kind of horror movie that’s too much for me.
Escape Room 2: Tournament of Champions
I remember the first one being a real success, so I’m not surprised they did another one.
False Positive
More creepy stuff.
Penguin Town
YES! I want to watch this!!
TV Shows
Gossip Girl
Kind of surprised how pumped I’m for this show.
Physical
I think this will be really good!
Dexter (Revival)
Do we … do we need this?
The CW 2021-2022 Sizzle
I wish they did individual trailers for their shows.
JIVA!
More South African Netflix content!
Katla
Already included the teaser last week.
Evil (Season 2)
I don’t watch this.
In the Dark (Season 3)
I haven’t watched a single episode of season 2 yet. Whoops.
Cobra Kai (Season 4)
YAY!
Money Heist/Casa de Papel (Part 5)
Do I even need to say anything?
Chesapeake Shores (Season 5)
I didn’t know this was still going.
Thoughts:
1. Eternals: Bring it on!
2. Gunpowder Milkshake: Looks like fun.
3. Last Night in Soho: People are already wondering if this is the horror movie of the year. I’m interested to find out if that’s the case.
4. Jungle Cruise: Wait, they didn’t already release this?
5. Old: YES! My kind of movie.
6. Escape Room 2: I’ll see it.
7. False Positive: I’m getting such Rosemary’s Baby vibes from this. Too bad I canceled my Hulu subscription. And this isn’t enough to draw me back.
8. Evil season 2: Wait, they moved it off CBS? Great, now I need to subscribe to another streaming service!

Somehow I’m not one bit deterred by the fact that Last Night in Soho is considered horror. Look how far I’ve come!

Maybe someday you’ll even read my stories and watch the same scary films as I do (I can dream).

I used to LOVE gossip girl so I’m definitely going to check it out! It does look really good ππ I can’t wait to see the full trailer. I hope they pick a better gossip girl this time π I can’t wait to watch the final season of La casa de papel!

Looking back (despite how much I loved it) Gossip Girl was such a mess π I really loved the brief era with Dan and Blair dating. They’d have been such a serve if it hadn’t all been ruined. The finale seaskn barely made sense to me π
