The official monthly wrap-up will come tomorrow, but I’m here to talk trailers again. I don’t know how you’re all feeling, but I still don’t feel super comfortable with the idea of going to theaters, but I am excited for upcoming things … it’s a strange combination. Let’s see if this week can wet my appetite again!
Movies
Vivo
Lin-Manuel Miranda is in all the animated movies now.
Ghostbusters Afterlife
The cinematography is so beautiful. I’m actually excited!
Army of Thieves
Honestly, I’m kind of here for it. If there had to be an Army of the Dead prequel, Dieter is the most fun choice.
The Card Counter
Oscar Isaac is just always a joy to watch (at least for me).
Lamb
Here’s an extended trailer for Lamb, cause last time wasn’t enough.
House of Gucci
I can’t get over how this is based on life.
King Richard
More real life stuff, because this is the movie about Venus and Serena’s dad.
Flag Day
Sean Penn is out there acting with his daughter.
Rare Beasts
Billie Piper wrote AND directed this.
Mogul Mowgli
I see Riz Ahmed, I click.
Zone 414
Don’t know about this one …
The Gateway
I love how all the people just comment that this looks nothing like St. Louis.
TV Shows
What If
I’m not watching it (meaning the trailers) anymore, because I want to be surprised by the show.
Only Murders in the Building
Ah, this new trailer tells me much more than the teaser.
Open Your Eyes
Definitely has a creep factor.
Post Mortem
The dichotomy of something gritty and simultaneously silly.
Brand New Cherry Flavor
I can see that being interesting.
AlRawabi School for Girls
I think I shared the teaser for it last week.
Day of the Dead
I don’t think this is for me.
Chucky
This also isn’t for me.
See (Season 2)
Whoops, I still haven’t finished S1. I’m only missing a couple episodes though.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Season 8)
I guess everything ends eventually.
Doctor Who (Season 13)
I’m so far behind on that show, I don’t even know if I wanna catch up.
Thoughts:
1. Ghostbusters: Afterlife: Looking forward to it.
2. Army of Thieves: My sentiments exactly.
3. Lamb: I still have no idea what it’s about.
4. What If: I want to be spoiler-free too.
5. Open Your Eyes: This tells me very little about the series.
6. Day of the Dead: I don’t remember Romero’s films being so comedic. Though I do remember that he never actually called them zombies, but preferred “ghouls.” And that these films were rife with social commentary. I wonder if this will do the same.
7. Chucky: Never been a fan, don’t care.
8. Doctor Who: It’s Jodie Whitaker and Chris Chibnall’s last series, as well one big story over eight episodes. Should at least be interesting.

I think Lamb is about a half-human, half-lamb being? Kind of made me think of Sweet Tooth in a weird way.
I still haven’t even watched Capaldi’s departure … so that’s where I’m on Doctor Who.

Do you necessarily need to watch Capaldi’s departure to watch Whitaker’s series?

Yes, I’m not skipping around in that universe.

I could’ve sworn that Ghostbusters movie came out already lol. I’m definitely intrigued by Lamb, Mogul Mowgli, and House of Gucci specifically. The Card Counter trailer looks a mess but I’ll see it for Oscar. lol

It was definitely meant to be released last year already haha I feel the same way every time I see a Free Guy trailer, because in my mind that movie has been out for a while now haha
