Not much insight can be shared about the last week, except that I read quite a lot and am looking forward to the monthly wrap-up to recap all of it. But for now, let’s stick to our usual Sunday trailers!
Movies
Spider-Man 3: No Way Home
I love how we all assumed that Doctor Strange would be pissed at Wanda and Loki for messing with the multiverse, but here he’s all like “hold my beer!”. Then again, it does feel slightly out of character for him, so, maybe those whispers about that actually being Mephisto are true!? Yes, we are going back down that rabbit hole of theories.
The Starling
I cannot with how emotional this movie looks! Granted, I haven’t read the book, but I’m looking forward to getting my heart crushed and I say that as someone who is not a big Melissa McCarthy fan at all.
I’m Your Man
I’ve heard good things.
Lady of the Manor
I like random funny ghost stories.
Sounds Like Love
I like a good breaking-the-4th-wall-moment.
What Breaks the Ice
All I can think about is that Madelyn Cline has dark hair here.
The Power of the Dog
This really didn’t give away too much.
Spencer
I have to admit that I’m really not interested in this.
Snakehead
Looks gritty in a good way.
The One You’re With
Sounds like a disaster situation.
Mayday
Is this an odd take on sirens?
The Guilty
Stories like that creep me out SO much.
Hard Luck Love Song
Didn’t I share this already?
Intrusion
No, thank you.
Drift Away
I wonder if Americans will realize how odd their society is by witnessing the rare aftermath of someone using their gun on the job in Europe.
TV Shows
Maid
It’s wild to me that I know someone who worked on this project, but at the same time that just makes me more excited to watch it!
Maya and the Three
Looks cool!
Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.
I guess this is a modern Doogie Howser remake?
Jaguar
All those hidden faces remind me of Magritte paintings.
Confessions of an Invisible Girl
It would have been fun if she actually had invisibility powers.
Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol
This is the kind of prequel I can get behind.
Queens
I still think I’d like to watch this.
The Wonder Years
Looking forward to the nostalgia.
NCIS: Hawaii
I still think it’s silly to cancel Hawaii Five-0 and then make this show?
Blood & Water (Season 2)
YES!
The Morning Show (Season 2)
I cannot wait for this show to return! The first season was phenomenal.
Big Sky (Season 2)
I still haven’t watched the first season.
9-1-1 (Season 5)
I’m ready!
Thoughts:
1. Spider-Man: No Way Home: Can’t wait! And yeah, I totally think Mephisto is part of this. In Dante’s Inferno, Satan is located in the lowest depths of Hell, which is depicted as a vast, frozen wasteland. It would not surprise me if the frozen Sanctum Sanctorum is a hint that Marvel’s version of Satan is quite literally in the house.
2. The Guilty: Oooh!
3. Intrusion: Hmm…intriguing.
4. The Lost Symbol: I might get a Peacock account just for this show.

I heard that about hell actually being frozen and the sanctum as well! I’m curious how it will all fit together. It definitely doesn’t seem in character for Strange, considering he literally went through a million possibilities when it came to Thanos. He wouldn’t just change time?

Yeah, especially since there has to be twenty easier ways to fix Peter Parker’s situation. Like draw Peter’s memories out of his head and show it to the world, or just going back briefly to change the content of J Jonah Jameson’s report, or other ideas!
Still, I’ve heard it said that it could still be Strange. He’s defined by his arrogance, so people think he’d do the spell just to prove Wong wrong. Doesn’t explain why he gets do aggressive with Peter later in the trailer, though.

I mean, he’s super super terrible at admitting his own mistakes and dealing with problems, so the aggression later on isn’t really that surprising to me.

You have a point.
Well, we’ll know in 3.5 months one way or another.
