Trailers You Might Have Missed … (Sep 13-19/2021)

A little later than usual, but I did not forget about your weekly trailers! I’ve had quite the week and hope to have some good news for you all once I post the monthly wrap-up, but for now, let’s focus on those trailers!

Movies

Nightmare Alley

This has a magical, whimsical but also exciting feel to it.

Needle in a Timestack

I don’t think I understand the concept, but I’m totally interested.

A Boy Called Christmas

I know the book was sweet, so I hope the movie does well.

This Is The Night

They will never stop making nostalgic summer movies.

Black as Night

I love how wild this is!

West Side Story

I’m not even generally against remakes, but I feel zero excitement.

7 Prisoners

Prepare for a lot of Netflix movies with subtitles.

The Forgotten Battle

I wonder how big a role Tom Felton will actually play in this?

Operation Hyacinth

Not sure this is for me.

Fever Dream

The premise doesn’t sound bad, but I’m just not gripped.

My Brother, My Sister

I don’t actually know if it’s a show or a movie, but I’m gonna guess it’s a film.

There’s Someone Inside Your House

I think the title makes it obvious this is horror.

The Manor

More scary stuff.

TV Shows

Hawkeye

I don’t know what surprised me more – a Rogers musical with a lot of Hamilton-vibes or that this whole freaking thing will be set around Christmas!? I mean … a holiday show? Really?

One of Us Is Lying

Some of my book blogging buddies needs to tell me if the trailer looks good compared to the book. I’d definitely watch it.

I Know What You Did Last Summer

Love the Olivia Rodrigo song for the trailer.

La Brea

NBC usually cancels shows like this after a season …

4400

Looks good!

Queens

A long trailer!

Maid

Also a longer version of the trailer!

Pretty Smart

It looks very … cheap production, terrible gags, flashy visuals. But maybe it will surprise me in a positive way.

Locke & Key (Season 2)

FINALLY.

Love Life (Season 2)

YES PLEASE!!!

Another Life (Season 2)

I loved the first season, but I forgot almost everything about it. It’s been way too long.

Big Sky (Season 2)

Someday, I’ll watch the show. I think.

YOU (Season 3)

I’m so looking forward to it!

Legacies (Season 4)

I’m honestly not sure I finished Season 3.

All American (Season 4)

They really put Spenclivia in the thumbnail and then made the trailer all sad.

Did I mention something you’d like to watch? Let’s talk!

  1. Thoughts:
    1. Nightmare Alley: Ooh! Intriguing. I look forward to it.
    2. West Side Story: Let’s face it, it’s not going to compare well with the original film, which is iconic! Also, I was in my summer camp’s production of this musical. We did it all in Hebrew because it was a Jewish summer camp.
    3. The Forgotten Battle: I have a friend who’s probably going to geek out over this, so I’ll see it so we can talk about it.
    4. There’s Someone Inside Your House: This looks made for me.
    5. The Manor: I feel like I’ve seen this story before.
    6. Hawkeye: I’ll be honest, I did not expect the tone to be so comedic. However, I’m all for it and Rogers and the Christmas vibe.
    7. I Know What You Did Last Summer: They gave this franchise the Scream treatment and brought it to TV? Better hope they don’t give up the plotline after two seasons for some new characters and leave things up in the air.

  2. Ohh I had no idea that A Boy Called Christmas was getting a movie! I loved the book last year and I like the trailer! I think There’s Someone Inside Your House is also a book adaptation but I didn’t read the source material 😅 Also very hyped for more Locke & Key!! 🥰

    • I think there’s a book by Stephanie Perkins, who used to write fluffy YA contemporary and then switched to thriller-esque stuff, with the same title “There’s Someone Inside Your House”, but I don’t know if the film is based on that to be honest.

  3. I’m so excited for season 2 of Love Life!! What did you think of the teaser of Don’t Worry Darling from Olivia Wilde? I know it was only 11 seconds haha 🙂
