I wish you all happy holidays and a belated merry Christmas, if you celebrate! I know it’s been quiet over the past few days, for obvious reasons, as I was staying with my parents for the festivities. I still wouldn’t miss a classic trailer Sunday though, so let’s get started!
Movies
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
People who saw Spider-Man in cinemas will know the trailer was shown there as a post-credit scene. I have a lot of thoughts, but don’t want to spoil anything. Let’s just say, I have a feeling I’ll be glad to have watched “What If …?”
I Want You Back
I LOVE the look of this. My kind of RomCom for sure!
Death on the Nile
I was once excited for them making more Poirot movies, but the cast of this one is iffy. They really tried to diminish Hammer’s role in the trailer, but they couldn’t just reshoot the whole thing, I bet.
The Royal Treatment
Netflix is really trying to take a slice out of that Hallmark cake, eh?
The Northman
The Skarsgard men just seem like Northmen.
Uncharted
I heard that Rudy Pankow was supposed to play Tom’s older brother in the movie and … Tom Holland is two years older than Rudy in real life and that just feels off.
TV Shows
Chosen
I like Danish Netflix shows, so I’m here for it.
The Witcher: Blood Origins
The trailer was actually shown at the end of the Witcher Season 2. Guess post-credit trailers are a thing now.
The Endgame
I’m not currently looking fora a new thriller show, but it’s something.
Naomi
Here’s a longer version of the teaser.
Euphoria (Season 2)
Again, a longer trailer.
Bridgerton (Season 2 Date Announcement)
The title says it all.
9-1-1: Lone Star (Season 3 Featurette)
This is so necessary for me to tide me over until the regular 9-1-1 returns.
Ahhh, all of these look AMAZING!!! Thanks so much for the list Kat!
And omg, I had no idea the agatha christie books had been converted into movies too (conclusion: i really HAD been living under a rock 😭) but thanks so much for this list, I HAVE TO CHECK THEM OUT ASAP!! Amazing post!

Very happy to hear the post brought something new to you!! The first Poirot movie they did, Murder on the Orient Express was very star studded and well done! I hope you enjoy it 🙂

Hi Kat.
I’m glad you are excited for ‘Death on the Nile’. I am a fan of Agatha Christies books and screen adaptations. Unfortunately, I am about to express an unpopular opinion.
I was very disappointed in the most recent movie version of ‘Murder on the Orient Express’. The story was changed greatly from the original. In all of the Poirot stories, he is very charming and lovable, however, he is in a foul mood during this adventure. Albert Finneys version of this book is very accurate, as is the David Suchet version.
There are two films from the late 70’s, early 80’s that are by far, my favorite christie adaptations. They feature Peter Ustinov as Hercule Poirot. He is absolutely charming. The films are ‘Evil Under the Sun’, and ‘Death on the Nile’.
I am an old fogey and prefer older, pre-CGI stuff. I hope you and Anoushka enjoy the new ‘Death on the Nile’. Perhaps you could consider viewing the other versions in comparison.
Happy Trails!

Hi Icky,
thanks for your thoughtful comment! I have actually watched many other iterations of Poirot and Agatha Christie stories in general, but I still very much enjoyed the last adaptation. I guess this is just our tastes differing.

Thoughts:
1. Doctor Strange 2: AAAAAAAH! So excited! Also, were you able to see New Way Home?
2. Death on the Nile: I’m planning on listening to the audio book of the novel before the movie. I like seeing how they adapt these sorts of stories to the screen.
3. The Northman: I think I’m starting to notice patterns with the work Robert Eggers creates, and not just the actors or difficult accents.
4. Uncharted: Never played the video games, so I’ll probably go in blind and enjoy myself.
5. Witcher: Blood Origin: Looks interesting. I’ll probably check it out if I end up liking season 2 of Witcher. Also, I’m about halfway through the season. Hopefully I’ll finish it this week.

Yeah, I’ve watched NWH and mentioned it in the Hawkeye post. I’m not gonna do a separate review though. I still haven’t found my like for audiobooks, but I hope you have fun.
As for Blood Origin, it’s a Witcher prequel, but I don’t see what it has to do with you liking or not liking season 2 haha

Sometimes if one part of the main franchise really rubs me the wrong way, I lose all interest in the franchise as a whole. Case in point, I haven’t watched anything Star Wars related since Rose of Skywalker.

I guess that’s fair.

That being said, I don’t hate the second season so far. I’ve noticed it’s going more off-book than the first season did, but that can still work in the right circumstances.

I’ve only read The Last Wish so far, so I can’t really speak to that. But I’ll take your word for it, concerning the changes.
