Trailers You Might Have Missed … (Jan 24-30/2022)

Another busy week on my end, but I’m happy to have been able to keep my posting schedule of at least three posts per week going. This year started out really solid on the blog and I hope to somehow manage to keep it up for the months to come. But for now, let’s check out some trailers!

Movies

Uncharted

It’s the final trailer, so I included it again.

True Things

I’m kind of intrigued by the aesthetic of the movie. The intense close ups are certainly a vibe.

Dr. Bird’s Advice for Sad Poets

Not sure about this movie, but it’s the boy from Anne with an E. Somehow he still looks like he lives in another era.

A Writer’s Odyssey

Such a cool concept.

Pinocchio (Teaser)

I’ll give more of my thoughts once we get an actual trailer.

A Madea Homecoming

Guess this new home is at Netflix.

Ted K

That man was on the most wanted list and whatnot, so … based on reality.

The Cursed

Again, this is more horror vibes?

TV Shows

The Rising

This reminds me of a darker version of this movie I was obsessed with as a teen, The Invisible.

Murderville

I know that a show like this already exists in the UK, but I’m still looking forward to it. The concept sounds like such a delight.

Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber

The last time was just a teaser.

The Midwich Cuckoos

That’s horror and not just a thriller.

The Fear Index

I always like the idea of content with Josh Hartnett, but I don’t really watch that many of his projects.

Sanditon (Season 2)

Now this is something I’m proper excited for, even without Theo James.

Kung Fu (Season 2)

I enjoyed this show, but didn’t finish the first season. Don’t know what that says about me.

Space Force (Season 2)

Again, I did not finish the first season …

All American (Season 4)

This is one of the better CW shows.

Charmed (Season 4)

I won’t be watching and I won’t go into detail as to why. If they get a season 4 and Nancy Drew doesn’t, we’re gonna have some issues.

The Resident (Season 5)

Will be interesting without Emily …

The Flash (Season 8)

I have a Starlab sweater, but I haven’t watched this show for several seasons now.

Did you spot something on here you would like to watch? Let’s chat!

  1. Thoughts:
    1. The Rising: Looks cool. Also, isn’t this a TV series? It said there’s 11 episodes at the end.
    2. Uncharted: I might watch it if it releases on a streaming service I use. Maybe.
    3. Pinocchio: This is creepy in a way I don’t like.
    4. Ted K: I might be interested in this.
    5. The Midwich Cuckoos: This is based on the same novel that inspired both adaptations of Village of the Damned, so my interest is caught. Also, I think this is a TV series as well.
    6. The Cursed: Victorian/Edwardian British horror? Where do I sign up?

  2. I’m so curious about Pinocchio. It’s amazing what some studios can achieve with stop motion and the last movies of this kind that I’ve seen have all had amazing stories too! And for Guillermo to direct too? Can’t wait for a full trailer.

I giggled at your Flash season 8 comment. I gave up after their last big crossover event and saw a couple of snippets of VERY bad scenes and I’m sort of glad I put an end to this show when I did… 😛 But that Starlab sweater is fire though. I can’t blame you for having one. 😛

    • From what I hear, Guillermo wanted to do this for AGES, but funding was tricky, because stop motion takes so long to do. I’m sure it will look fantastic!

I really do love my Starlabs sweater! When I wore it in Vancouver, people always kind of thought I was stalking the set of the show haha but then I got back to Vienna, wore it going to an ice hockey game and there was a boy at the concessions stand wearing a Starlab sweater in reversed colors, who was rooting for the opposite team of me. Felt like fate in a weird way!
