Trailers You Might Have Missed … (Aug 15-21/2022)

I know, I’ve descended into just posting about TV and movies again in the past weeks. It’s been quite busy for me, but I vouch to bring some bookish content before the end of the month as well. Maybe something on writing as well? We shall see what the future holds. For now, let’s check out the latest trailers!

Movies

About Fate

I love me some cute romcoms.

The Greatest Beer Run Ever

The title seems weird, but Apple TV+ does some really good stuff. Also, my boy, Archie Renaux, is in it, so I’m gonna show up for it.

I Used to Be Famous

They showed too much in the trailer again, even though I’m sure it’s a nice movie.

Call Jane

This movie release feels … timely. I mean, let’s just take a look at what’s going on in the US.

End of the Road

Queen Latifah is in more action stuff and I’m not mad at it.

Living

The cinematography looks really beautiful.

God’s Creatures

This doesn’t necessarily look like something made for me, but Paul Mescal is an argument.

Bandit

Doesn’t look great, to be honest.

Pretty Problems

I’d never go someplace in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of people I don’t know. Seems like a generally bad idea.

Railway Children

I think we’ve had this one before, but maybe the release was postponed and they redid the trailer.

On the Count of Three

Again, pretty sure I shared a teaser before. Content warning for suicide.

Speak No Evil

Scandinavians know how to do creepy stuff.

Blank

There’s more AI movies coming out again. I see what you’re doing, Hollywood.

TV Shows

The Empress

This is actually about history from my own country. I won’t know peace until people stop depicting the relationship between Sisi and Franz as the ultimate romance though. Still, it looks good visually. I’ll likely watch it.

Wednesday Addams (Teaser)

I’ve always loved the Addams family. Very interested in this take.

Dangerous Liaisons

Everything’s getting remade. We shall see if it’s any good.

Vampire Academy

Still wish JP wasn’t involved in this series, but I’m definitely going to watch.

A Friend of the Family

This is SO creepy, but I think it’s going to be really good. It’s scary, because stuff like this happens for real.

Heartbreak High

I said it with the teaser already, but this is a remake/reboot of a 90s show from Australia.

American Gigolo

I feel like I’ve shared a trailer or teaser before, but I love Jon Bernthal, so why not.

The Monarch

Giving me Empire, Nashville and Dynasty vibes and I like it.

Last Light

Guess this was inspired by the blackouts we’re being warned about.

Abbott Elementary (Season 2 Teaser)

They are the best. Can’t wait for the return of the show.

Cobra Kai (Season 5)

I honestly am behind on the show. I still haven’t watched Season 4.

Did you spot something in the post you would like to watch? Let’s chat!

  1. Thoughts:
    1. God’s Creatures: Not for me, either.
    2. Pretty Problems: I stopped watching the trailer when I saw it involved inviting strangers together. I mean, that’s never a good idea.
    3. Railway Children: I thought this might be an adaptation of the Boxcar Children books (which I saw a play about when I was a kid). Also, I bet that American kid is just trying to reunite with his dad or brother or something because his home life sucks without him.
    4. Speak No Evil: Looks really dark.
    5. Blank: Right up my alley. Also, I would love to have a retreat in an old house with an AI assistant! That sounds like a great way to get the work done. Just minus the malware and other issues, of course.
