Trailers You Might Have Missed … (Aug 22-28/2022)

Not going to lie, this month kind of slipped away from me, which led to a really basic posting schedule. I keep saying I want to get back on track, and I do, but I won’t make any promises for those final days of August. For now, let’s just check out the latest TV and movie trailers!

Movies

Slumberland

I love movies like this one. They spark imagination and I could have seen myself be obsessed with the world as a kid. Also, yes! to whatever unhinged character Jason Momoa is playing here.

Beautiful Disaster

I know it’s based on a book and there’s a reason for it, but if anyone called me “pigeon”, I’d be outta there.

A Jazzman’s Blues

Nothing about this gives me Tyler Perry vibes, and I don’t mean that as a bad thing at all. Instead, I’m getting Notebook feels and I’m here for that.

Empire of Light

Yes, please! Reignite that cinema magic.

Lou

Looks good! I’m here for the Jurnee Smollett and Allison Janney team-up.

Tár

Cate Blanchett is just such a wonderful actress and I can see this being an award season movie, but I just don’t think it’s for me …

The Inspection

I love Jeremy Pope, but this military stuff is tough to watch.

White Noise

Noah Baumbach and Great Gerwig working together has my attention for sure.

My Best Friend’s Exorcism

Oooh, maybe this has Jennifer’s Body potential? Although I think it’s based on a book.

Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon

Okay, if you haven’t seen “A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night”, which has the same director as this movie and is one of my absolute favorite vampire movies in existence, do yourself a favor and check it out.

Confess, Fletch

Looks like it could be fun.

All Those Words We Never Said

Oh boy, that seems like a freaky thing to do. Anyway, half the cast is German and that’s fun for me.

Athena

Oh, this gives me a different vibe than the teaser we got a while back.

November

I know this is a very serious movie, but it should be released in November. Feels like a wasted opportunity.

Pinocchio

I guess this is another live action Disney remake I’m going to skip.

Goodnight Mommy

Why did they have to remake it so soon? I mean the Austrian version was just fine and had an impact on its own.

TV Shows

Reboot

I love it. I love it. I love it.

HBO Max 2022-2023 Line-Up

I’m here for The Last of Us, Gossip Girl and more of my College Girls. Unfortunately, I’m not up to date with any of the other stuff …

Jungle

Interesting!

Devil in Ohio

I don’t think it’s for me. Cults are way too real, people get sucked into them all the time.

You’re Nothing Special

Probably not the best idea to pretend to know how to do love spells …

Everything Calls for Salvation

Since this is titled “Date Announcement”, I’m guessing a longer trailer is still ahead for us, but it looks good.

Fate: The Winx Saga (Season 2)

I know it’s bad, but I’m gonna watch it for sure. Don’t judge me!

Did you spot something you would like to watch on today’s post? Let’s talk! For now, I’ll go back to watching “Partner Track”.

  1. I’m definitely on the fence about Pinocchio – I just wish they could let some classics stay animated! 😆 Did you end up watching any She Hulk??

    • I just don’t like any of the live action remakes they’ve done so far. The only one I enjoyed was Cinderella and it went downhill fast after that.
I did watch the first two episodes of She-Hulk and talked about it in my weekly wrap-up of what I’m watching 🙂 I enjoy it.

  2. Thoughts:
    1. Lou: No joke, I thought that was Jamie Lee Curtis at first.
    2. White Noise: I’m interested, but I want more from the preview before I make a decision to see it.
    3. My Best Friend’s Exorcism: I read the book last year and absolutely loved it. I can’t wait to see the movie. It’s creepy, funny, fun and overall just a great story. Grady Hendrix is always an experience to read, so I hope the movie is up to snuff.
    4. Pinnochio: Enough with the live-action remakes! Nobody wants them! They’re all spectacle and big names and nothing else!
    5. Goodnight, Mommy: I still have to see the original. Unless it gets great reviews, I’m skipping this one.
    6. Devil in Ohio: I find this hilarious as I’m part of a project to put out an anthology of horror stories based in Ohio and written by Ohio authors. Also, I did not give them permission to make a TV show/movie about me, lol! Yeah, I’ll see it anyway.
