This week was a lot and I’m just beyond tired at this point. Honestly, this whole month has been quite the handful so far, but I’m trying to find balance as much as I can. Today, we’re here to look at some movie and TV trailers – let’s get started!
Movies
The School for Good and Evil
I’m so excited for this one! 1. Sofia Wylie is having a moment and I love that for her and 2. there’s so many fun adaptations for teens now. This and Percy Jackson and so much more.
From Scratch
I think it’s interesting that this is based on a memoir.
Dear Zoe
I wish Sadie Sink all the success in the world, just not sure this movie is it.
I Wanna Dance With Somebody
So many biopics.
The Curse of Bridge Hollow
It’s Erica from Stranger Things.
Mr. Harrigan’s Phone
So … who thought this was going to be a Blumhouse and Stephen King story based off of the beginning of this trailer?
Shantaram
The man with the muddled up accent is back.
DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffery Dahmer Story
Why do we keep telling these stories? Like … this isn’t a true crime documentary, someone is going to crush on a killer again because of an actor.
The Stranger
Every movie with this kind of title is going to be dark.
The Fabelmans
It’s great that Spielberg gets to tell his own story.
Babylon
Margot and Brad just want to keep playing in old timey Hollywood apparently.
Corsage
Austria is truly still the capital of feel bad movies. Even with its modern touches, this is probably a more realistic version than the romantic tale that has been told all this time.
MaXXXine
It’s the X & Pearl sequel.
TV Shows
Reginald the Vampire
I think last time I only shared the teaser.
Fire Country
I’ll always watch shows about fighting fire.
Alaska Daily
Since this is on the same network as Big Sky, I can see the vibe they’re going for.
The Cleaning Lady (Season 2)
This show was such a surprise last season and I can’t wait to see more.
Abbott Elementary (Season 2)
YES!!!
Chucky (Season 2)
Pictures of this hellish doll sitting on a throne have flooded my Twitter timeline. I have nothing to say to that.
Thoughts:
1. The Curse of Bridge Hollow: I found myself wanting the dad to go through as much terror as possible. How dare he try to tell off adults for enjoying Halloween and mistaking Hamilton for Prince!
2. Mr. Harrigan’s Phone: I’ve read the source material and was not a fan. But it looks good, and I don’t know when the Salem’s Lot movie is getting released, so I’ll watch this when it come out.
3. Dahmer: I’ll watch it. Evan Peters does a great job whenever he’s in a horror project, and he’s killing the Dahmer vibes here.
4. MaXXXine: I still haven’t seen X yet!

Him not recognizing Hamilton also hurt me. He must have lived under a rock.
I just want the serial killer glorification movies to end.

As long as there’s an audience for that sort of thing, it’ll never stop.

Which is a shame, because it definitely should stop.

Reginald the Vampire: I am cautiously hopeful it will be a good watch. Not sure from the trailer if I have those vibes, however. I would have liked to see a Season 2 of Astrid & Lilly Save The World or SurrealEstate from Syfy by now. I did see SurrealEstate has formally been renewed. Did you hear anything about Astrid & Lilly’s status? Chucky…I have no words. I have never “gotten” the enthusiasm for it, either then or now.

Reginald could still go both ways, but I’m really looking forward to another burst of vampire era shows. I always end up loving most of them.
Sorry, Astrid & Lilly are still in the bubble, neither cancelled nor renewed. Although a long waiting period doesn’t bode well.
