Trailers You Might Have Missed … (Sep 19-25/2022)

I had so many plans for the blog this month, but none of them came to fruition. So, you’re mostly just getting your regular fill on TV, movie and trailer content. This week, we were especially blessed with teaser etc. because of Netflix’ TUDUM presentation. Let’s dive in! (As a heads up, I won’t be including clips or date announcement without any show/movie content though. I’ll just make sure to feature the proper teasers and trailers for those things once they are available.)

Movies

Rosaline

I LOVE this concept so much, even though it makes me randomly miss Still Star-Crossed again.

Enola Holmes 2

The first movie was such an unexpected joy and I cannot wait for the sequel (and more interactions between her and Sherlock).

They Cloned Tyrone

I’m unreasonably hyped for this one.

Knock at the Cabin

What about a cabin in the woods seems so appealing to people?

Robbing Mussolini

Look, heists will always intrigue me.

The Loneliest Boy in the World

Such a weird concept and based on the trailer, I can’t yet tell if it works.

Prey for the Devil

I know I’ve shared a trailer before, but I believe this one is longer.

The Mother

I prefer Jennifer Lopez in (romantic) comedies, but we will see.

Bardo: False Chronicles of a Handful of Truths

The way this was shot looks so interesting.

Peridot

The trailer song really set the mood here.

Summertime Dropouts

Why does this look like it was made in the early 2000s?

TV Shows

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

She really deserves her own season. When I tell you, I squealed.

Welcome to Chippendales

What’s up with all the limited series based on businesses as of late?

Let the Right One In

How many adaptations have we had of this one now?

The Empress

I want to cry, why is it dubbed? Also … even at the danger of repeating myself … this is NOT a super romantic love story. Most people don’t have the faintest idea about the actual historical figures.

Inside Man

Stanley Tucci AND David Tennant!? Was this made for me??

The Midnight Club

It’s Mike Flanagan. I will watch it. His Netflix shows have not been a miss yet.

The Watcher

What do you mean “based on a true story”???

The Devil’s Hour

What a cast! Love that Capaldi has a connection to “time” still.

Shadow and Bone (Season 2)

You KNOW I’ll be seated! (Although this is not the Nikolai I pictured in my mind.)

Alice in Borderland (Season 2)

I have to admit that I didn’t watch season 1.

Vikings: Valhalla (Season 2)

Season 1 blew me away. I wasn’t really that interested in getting invested in another viking show, but here I am.

Outer Banks (Season 3)

Phew, finally getting my pogues back. Can’t believe they’re actually trying to live wherever they’re stranded.

Emily in Paris (Season 3)

Oh wow, this disaster of a show is really continuing, eh?

Lupin (Part 3)

My dad’s going to be looking forward to this one.

Dead to Me (Season 3)

I kind of forgot that the show got another season? But yay?

YOU (Season 4)

So … half these people are going to perrish, right?

Station 19 (Season 6)

Not going to lie, I’m going to need Jack back real soon.

Grey’s Anatomy (Season 19)

I’m not not interested.

Did you spot some stuff you would like to watch? Let’s talk about that!

  1. Thoughts (and I have plenty):
    1. Enola Holmes 2: Oh, this is going to be so much fun!
    2. They Cloned Tyrone: That title alone just makes me laugh.
    3. Knock at the Cabin: This is based on a really terrifying novel. I really hope Shamaylan is up to the task of adapting it. Otherwise, I’m not going to be happy.
    4. Prey for the Devil: Bring it on.
    5. Let the Right One In: Probably one too many, but since when has that ever stopped people?
    6. The Devil’s Hour: Well, the Doctor has been associated with numerous deaths throughout their long life. No surprise that people would call them a serial killer. xD
    7. Alice in Borderlands season 2: Season 1 was so good! I have been dying to see what happens next. Especially now that the manga is being released in the US and is about caught up with where the first season ended. Anyway, I’m not sure if you would like the show, but I would give it a chance if you’re at all interested.

Also, it’s not listed here, but the trailer for the new Hellraiser movie looks sick AF, and I cannot wait to watch it!

    • I didn’t know Knock at the Cabin was a novel! The trailer definitely seems intriguing, so I might actually watch it.
You’ll have to share your thoughts on Prey for the Devil with me for sure!
I’m not quite sure if Alice in Borderland is for me, but it’s on my list.
And I totally forgot about Hellraiser. Maybe when a longer trailer is out (or next Sunday, if I don’t forget again).

  2. I am super excited about the new Enola Holmes movie, the first one was so fun! Also very much looking forward to Shadow and Bone season 2, though I still haven’t read anything besides the Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows, so I probably should get on that to avoid any spoilers.

    • I’m excited for both of those as well! Not sure how much Shadow and Bone will really follow the books moving forward (especially concerning the crows), but I liked the books (loved the duology especially).
