Alright, so this has been a very boring month in terms of the posts I provided to you on the blog, but more about that tomorrow. Today, we’re here to take a look at some movie and TV show trailers and teasers!
Movies
My Father’s Dragon
It gets plus point for being made by the same people as The Secret of Kells and Wolfwalkers.
Spoiler Alert
1. I love seeing Ben Aldridge in more movies these days. He’ll forever be my Captain James though. And 2. this is based on Michael Aussiello’s life, if I’m not mistaken, so that feels super recent? Bet it’s going to be heartbreaking.
Aftersun
Did I think I needed to see Paul Mescal as a dad in a movie? No. Am I absolutely loving the idea of it? Heck, yeah! I love this for him.
Bones and All
Perfect use of Leonard Cohen, I’ll give them that for sure.
Stars at Noon
Not going to lie, I find watching Joe Alwyn act incredibly soothing for some reason. Even if his roles are shady.
Raymond & Ray
Here for it. The song used at the beginning of the trailer was used in another trailer for a movie I liked, so that’s also a good sign.
The Estate
The lengths people go to …
Hellraiser
Sorry, I forgot to share it previously.
The Accursed
As everyone in the comments said, this has Skeleton Key vibes.
Manifest West
If you want to go escape society on a mountain, don’t drag your kids into a mess.
Game of Love
This is a sequel? I think? It does not look great, I’m sorry.
TV Shows
The Last of Us
I’ve literally never played the game, but I’m so here for it! It looks fantastic and they were smart in the way they edited the trailer. It gives hints at stuff that was in the game for those who already know the story, but without explaining anything really. Still, a person who has never had anything to do with the material still gets the gist of what this will be about.
Barbarians (Season 2)
I meant to watch that show, because it’s a German production, but it kind of slipped my mind.
Elite (Season 6)
I kind of mind less and less that I never finished season 4.
Thoughts:
1. Hellraiser: It shouldn’t be too hard to guess what I’ll be doing this coming Saturday night. Such sights they have to show me!
2. The Accursed: Oooh, I’m getting those same vibes and it looks great! I want to see it!
3. The Last of Us: I’ve seen play-throughs of both games, and it’s a fantastic game. I have high hopes for the TV version, and if you watch it too, I hope we can talk about it at length. Hell, maybe you can do a weekly series of posts on the episodes if you have the time and drive. That would be a fun way to discuss the show, at the very least.

Yep, I knew you’d be into Hellraiser. Thanks for reminding me last week that the full trailer was out.
Hmmm … I hadn’t thought about weekly reviews for The Last of Us, but maybe! I’ll have to see how that would work with my schedule. I’m really short on time lately.

I know how that is. I barely have any time to read these days! My bedside table is full of books that I haven’t gotten to yet. 😢

I definitely need more hours in the day too.

Either that, or our passions should be made into profitable incomes.

But that’s the thing. I want my passions to stay passions. I don’t want to have to force myself to do them when I loose joy, because it’s how I make money. Not everything needs to be monetized.

No, but it makes following our passions a bit easier.

I am very curious about the Hellraiser reboot. I know everything is getting the do-over at this point, but thinking from the trailer this might actually be worthy of a re-do!

I’ve honestly never watched the original. I think it might be too scary for me.

I would say more off-the-rails than scary, but then again, I may have a weirdly-high threshold for scary.

I have a fairly low threshold for scary, if I’m being completely honest. I’m such a wuss.

Toni Collette is just always such a strong argument for a movie for me.

Yes! And Ana Faris in that role seems perfect.
