Where I ramble about all the TV shows and movies I’ve watched in the past week ….
Do you ever have these weeks, where you wonder what you did all week long? Because time has evidently passed, but I couldn’t tell you what I did aside from working. Anyway, here’s a few things I watched.
FINISHED TV SHOWS/SEASONS
That ’90s Show (Season 1)
I love That ’70s Show when I was younger, even if a lot of the jokes went over my head, but if you are a fan as well, That ’90s Show is a fairly decent reboot. Not going to lie, there are a couple really cringey things and the teen aspect won’t work for everyone anymore, but that’s why it’s so great that Kitty and Red are still among the main cast. We get cameos from almost everyone from the OG show and still have the original sets. It’s super nostalgic and works in that sometimes over the top sitcom kind of way. I’d genuinely like to watch more seasons and not just because I want to see where Nate and Leia could potentially go.
WEEKLY TV SHOWS
The Last of Us (Season 1)
FANTASTIC! Legit just SO GOOD! I didn’t expect it to be so accurate to the game in certain scenes, but wow. This is what I call a good game adaptation.
Mayfair Witches (Season 1)
So, I have watched episode 3 already, which means there’s early access to episodes online now. I don’t have all that much to say though, I feel like not enough is happening for some reason.
Will Trent (Season 1)
I’m genuinely enjoying this show so much, I really didn’t expect that. If you haven’t started it yet, PLEASE WATCH!
National Treasure (Season 1)
Yes, a lot of stuff just works out super conveniently for our crew, but I like the show. It’s really just a tween version of the movies.
Walker: Independence (Season 1)
Y’all, I need my weekly fill of cowboys on my screen, so I’m super glad the show is back. And I’m also glad I can now like Tom’s character with a bit less of a guilty conscience it seems.
Gossip Girl (Season 2)
The show got cancelled, so that tells you how the season is going …
Abbott Elementary (Season 2)
Just about everyone knows that Gregory likes Janine now and I’m living for it.
The Legend of Vox Machina (Season 2)
MY BABIES ARE BACK! They released the first three episodes of the season and they were all fantastic. The Sunken Tomb destroyed me despite me fully well knowing how this is going to end, which is another sign of excellence.
MOVIES
As always, don’t forget to add me on Letterboxd if you want to be up to date on all my movie experiences!
Apparently, I didn’t watch any movies this past week.
Check out the new Night Court with Melissa Rauch and John Larroquette.

Eh, I’m not sure it’s my kind of thing. I’m very selective when it comes to sitcoms, I watch 2-3 max on a regular basis.

Hey Kat, always love checking in on your weekly recaps 😊 The week goes by so quickly, I too often don’t even know what I’ve done.
I would love to watch The Last of Us but unfortunately my fear of blood and gore prevents me from watching most zombie media. Also funnily enough, I forgot about the new revamp of Gossip Girl (never watched it but I did watch the trailer). Guess it was as bad as I guessed it would be. 😂😂

Thank you, that makes me really happy to hear 😊
The Gossip Girl reboot was kind of starting to hit its stride a little bit, but there were too many shortcomings to keep it going in this TV climate. I was honestly surprised it got renewed once.

I really have enjoyed That 90’s show thus far. I was bummed none of my usual crime dramas were on this week. 😔

Oh no, which crime dramas do you usually watch?

The Last of Us was great! I can’t wait for the new episode tonight. I also loved That 70’s Show, but I have no interest in That 90’s show. I watched a few minutes of the first episode and cringed. lol

I can’t wait either! I’m sure the Last of Us will continue to blow my mind.
I get what you mean about That ’90s Show, because it definitely is cringey, but I had a really fun time? They did the show a disservice by only giving it 10 episodes to work with, because you really only start to get a grip of the new dynamics in episode 4. I’m invested by now.

I want to watch That 90’s Show! I also loved the 70’s Show. I am actually most excited for Red and Kitty because they stole the show.

Give it a little time to get into with the new kids, but I really enjoyed it. Red and Kitty remain the highlight.

We’ve probably got in about 3 episodes so far. I think it will grow on us. Jacque has been my favorite thing so far besides Red and Kitty.

I hope you ended up enjoying it as a whole, sorry for replying late.

I’ve been on the fence about watching That 90s Show. I loved that 70s Show and I’m worried it’s going to ruin what I loved about the original as reboots have a way of doing. I’m glad to hear it wasn’t a complete wash and it was decent. Maybe I’ll take a shot on it!
I also just added you on Letterboxd, as I’m just getting into using it! My username is WhimsicalMM 😄

I feel like That ’90s Show is very much working with what people loved about That ’70s Show. The cast is still the same and the characters don’t act differently, they’re just a bit older now. I’d give it a try!
And thank you for letting me know! I followed you back, but since letterboxd doesn’t really do notifications, I probably would have missed it.

Thank you, I think I will… when I can fit it in!
And you’re welcome! I’m still trying to find my way around Letterboxd.

Last of Us was awesome, and I like the twists they’re doing with Mayfair Witches. As for movies, I watched a lot of movies lately, and most of them are horror, so I won’t bore you with the details. And tomorrow I’m going to see an anime movie in the theater, so I’m really excited.

Since I haven’t read Mayfair Witches, I don’t really know if much has changed. It just all feels very “same pace, same things happening” to me each episode and I want things to escalate.

Well, maybe we’ll get some explosions in the next episode, lol.
