Trailers You Might Have Missed … (Jan 23-29/2023)

Trailers You Might Have Missed This Week

Why is tomorrow Monday? And why is it STILL January? Those are the questions that plague my brain. Let’s hope these trailers and promos for upcoming TV shows and movies will be a good distraction!

Movies

We Have a Ghost

Never thought David Harbour looked less hot, but that’s alright.

Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods

Quite annoyed at Zachary Levi because of his tweets (again), but I always wanted to see more of the kids in their grown up hero alter egos.

Dungeons & Dragons

Hasbro/WotC is trying so hard to paddle back on the whole OGL thing, but they done f*cked up. This movie might just flop because of their greed (mostly Hasbro’s I assume), what a shame.

The Strays

It’s giving Get Out meets Don’t Worry Darling or something like that.

Unexpected

This trailer is all over the place.

TV Shows

Daisy Jones & The Six

I will become absolutely INSUFFERABLE when this show premieres. I already have “Regret Me” on repeat, I’m gonna go nuts. The fact that they’re going to release the full Aurora album is insane in the best way. I CANNOT FREAKING CONTAIN MYSELF WITH EXCITEMENT!

The law according to Lidia Poët

Could be fun.

Next in Fashion (Season 2)

I loved Season 1 and had no idea they actually did more. I’ll miss Alexa Chung though.

Succession (Season 4)

I’m so sorry, I’m still on season 1.

  1. Thoughts:
    1. We Have a Ghost: Looks hysterical. Also, who’s the actress playing the medium? She looks familiar.
    2. Shazam 2: Looks like so much fun. I can’t wait!
    3. D&D: Possibly going to see this in theaters, but I’m undecided at the moment.
    4. Strays: I see what you’re getting at. Those Get Out and Don’t Worry, Darling vibes are strong.

  2. I’m still kind of excited for the DnD movie but the whole OGL thing is just,,,yeah, let’s just say Hasbro/WotC did not do themselves any favours and just showed they fundamentally misunderstood the point of DnD and the values of the community lol. I still haven’t read Daisy Jones so nothing about that trailer means anything to me and tbh, if I didn’t know the book was very beloved, I wouldn’t care at all because it doesn’t look like my kind of story. But I am intrigued and might actually watch it…after I’ve read the book haha

    • Hasbro/WotC really only have themselves to blame if the movie bombs at the theater and I say that as someone who is also still looking forward to it to some extent.
As for Daisy Jones and the Six? It’s literally my least favorite TJR novel that I have read and I didn’t enjoy the reading experience all that much? My excitement for the show makes no sense other than me getting Fleetwood Mac-like music and the first brick in the foundation of the rest of the TJR universe books being adapted. I already know Netflix is going to f*ck up Evelyn Hugo, but there’s hope for Malibu Rising and Carrie Soto yet. And yes, they are all connected 😅
