Trailers You Might Have Missed … (March 21-27)

trailers

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! It is super late here, but I am determined to get this post out. How else would you know about all the awesome movies and shows or not so awesome stuff in some cases? Here’s what I found this week!

Movies

War Dogs

It looks hilarious and dumb and scary and it freaks me out that this is based on a real story – like it has me terrified! What’s wrong with people? However, I can never resist a movie with Miles Teller, that should be a given!

Bridget Jones’ s Baby

I am a little disappointed. It’s way different than the book by now, which is okay I guess. BUT WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? It may sound a little mean, but they are way out of the age where it’s funny that she doesn’t know who the father is. Also, it better be Darcy’s!

Temps

I don’t know, looks like a fun RomCom

Love & Friendship

Not sure … maybe I’d watch it on a rainy day at home, but probably never in cinemas.

Pélé: Birth of a Legend

I am not really into this, but my main question is, what’s up with all these biodramas? They are becoming a real trend!

All the Way

Bryan Cranston never ceases to amaze me with his versatility, even when I am not interested in the content of the movie.

TV Shows

Supergirl – The Flash – Crossover

I LOVE IT!!! It looks hilarious and knowing how much effort has to go into a crossover among different channels, even if they are from the same TV family, is astonishing. I can’t wait to watch it! And the references to CW! OMG! I’m laughing so hard over here!

Game of Thrones

Not much new material here, but I AM SO EXCITED for the shows return!

What would you watch? Are you excited for some of those movies/shows? Tell me all about it!

Trailers You Might Have Missed

Last week was full of Trailer and promo releases and I thought I’d share a short summary of my thoughts as well as the trailers with you guys to discuss in the comments!

Movies

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

I am not a huge fan of the franchise, but I have watched the first movie. I thought it was funny and Megan Fox was a lot less terrible than I thought she would be, but it still didn’t blow me away. Now, the second movie looks a little better to me, but that’s probably mainly due to Stephen Amell. YAY – Oliver is branching out!

The Legend of Tarzan

It looks so different from my childhood memory of the story! I know that Tarzan has been made into movies with real people a lot of the times, but I always associate it with the animated version. This one looks so much darker and grown up, but I kind of like that. Also, Margot Robbie and Alexander Skarsgård are both so swoon-worthy! And Christoph Waltz is always great to watch as well!

The Nice Guys

In the beginning, I thought it looked weird, but weirdly genius. I think I’d like to watch this, even though I am usually not that much into violent movies.

X-Men Apocalypse

I HAVE NO WORDS! My mind just goes blank whenever I watch it, but I am super excited. The X-Men franchise is one of my favourites of the comic universe.

TV Shows

The 100 Season 3

My first thought was, “What did Clarke do with her hair?”, but then I realised how close the Season 3 premiere is and that made me extremely happy. The 100 is just so good and it seems to be getting better each season. (Also, please reunite Bellarke soon!!!) – Disclaimer: full trailer will be released on Monday!

Chicago Trilogy Crossover

You know how obsessed I am about the Chicago shows. This is going to be EPIC!

Teen Wolf Season 5B

It’s looking so grim … January 5th can’t come quick enough!

I do realise that that was a lot at once, but did you know about all of them? Did I show you something new? What are your thoughts?

Chicago Med Series Premiere

Everyone who knows me just a little, knows how obsessed I am with the Chicago shows. Well, last night was the Premiere of the third installment in the franchise, Chicago Med. I’ve been excited for this for what seem like forever and as expected, it did not disappoint! SPOILERS ahead!

First, I want to say that I’ve been tired of medical dramas as well. There are so many out there and it was getting boring, but Dick Wolf, creator of most Chicago shows as well as the Law & Order universe, is simply a genius. Instead of doing a spin-off, he slowly spins the show into the already existing universe. The actors switch between sets almost seamlessly and you just get the impression that it’s all one and the same thing anyway. Which is great! There are characters related to each other and even some crossover-romances, which makes the actual crossover episodes even more fun.

I don’t think it would make much sense to go into the details of the different cases of the first episode. They were chosen wisely and we got to know all our doctors and nurses a lot better. So, lets break it down:

  • Dr. Will Halstead, brother of Detective Jay Halstead, has been on Fire and PD several times by now. We got to know him a little beforehand and I am really looking forward to finding out more about him. He’s really good at his job, but the thing is, he knows it too. He can be a bit brash sometimes, but I like that about him. I find his relationship with Dr. Natalie Manning really interesting, but for now, I hope that it will stay purely platonic. A thing that was definitely fun to see, was Will butting heads with Dr. Connor Rhodes. They are way more similar than they’d like to admit, but it’ll probably take some time until they become friends.
  • Speaking of Natalie Manning. I thought that Natalie was married, because I remembered reading that somewhere, but then April mentioned that Nat wouldn’t have to do the single-mom-thing on her own. I was really sad when I found out that her military husband had died. I’m glad that info didn’t leak to me beforehand.
  • Dr. Connor Rhodes has most of the ladies swooning and the guys annoyed to no end. He is so cool! I totally get it! He stitched his own wound and has some mean tattoos as well. I wonder where he was and what brought him back to Chicago. He definitely has me intrigued already and I see a ton of broken hearts along the way.
  • Dr. Daniel Charles has also been appearing regularly on Fire and PD already. He’s a good psychiatrist, who knows exactly what people need and when they need it. I gather he bends the rule in favour of his patients sometimes, but I don’t think that’s a bad quality. I liked seeing him care for Jamie as much as he did. He grows on me more with each episode!
  • April Sexton – there’s really not that much new to tell. She was really badass before and she will continue to kick ass in Chicago Med.
  • Dr. Ethan Choi – It’s a little early to tell, but I think I like him. He’s a no-nonsense kind of guy, but very capable.
  • Dr. Sarah Reese – She sort of surprised me. I knew that she had some troubles with the job, sometimes simply because she didn’t want to hurt anyone, but I didn’t expect her not to want to be at the ER at all. She thinks she’s a lab person, but I bet that the continuous exposure to patients will change her mind soon enough.
  • Maggie – she’s the kind of person who knows about everything that’s going on in the ER. Very cool!

I bet I forgot someone, but I really just wanted to say that I enjoyed the first episode of the show and that I can’t wait to watch the rest of it. There are several crossovers planned, especially around February I think. What did you think of the show?

Chicago Fire Season 4 Premiere

Chicago Fire is back and that means one by one my favourite franchise is becoming complete again. I already showed you a little Preview and First Look (including Spoilers for the entire Season) in a previous post – click here to check it out! Otherwise, let’s continue with the Season 4 Premiere!

Okay everyone, you should know how this works by now, but I still feel obliged to say it every single time. We pick up right at the same moment the last episode ended, but there is so much going on each episode that I just break it down into characters and my thoughts for their storylines. Spoilers ahead!

  • Gabby and Casey – I think everyone wants to know what’s going on with them. Well, Gabby was really worried after finding dead Katya, but Antonio got to Casey in time. He’s changed and now has a more violent/impulsive streak, but after Gabby was in danger during one of the fires, he FINALLY realised that he just wants to be with her. So, in the last seconds of the episode he goes to Molly’s to tell her how he feels and she’s super happy and that’s when she tells him that she’s pregnant and they hug.
I am so glad it happened this way around and not him wanting to get back together after she told him about the pregnancy. Now I don’t feel like they just got back together for the baby. But throughout the episode you could see how much Dawson was struggling as a firefighter and probably wanting to stay one.
  • As announced, Severide got demoted and I was super mad on his behalf! I think he is handling this a lot calmer than expected, but definitely still not well. I just think it’s so unfair, because while the turnover rate on Squad may be high, that surely isn’t his fault. I am so worried about him, because he wants to leave Firehouse 51 and I am NOT okay with that. I hope that Cruz could dissuade him from that idea.
Also, we got to meet his new love interest, who he meets at his management training course. They hooked up already, but I read something about complications on the way, so I don’t think it will last.
  • Dallas Patterson, the new Captain replacing Sev, seemed really nice. I wanted to like him and not resent him, because after all it’s not his fault that Sev got demoted. However, by the end of the episode I didn’t particularly like him, especially not because he told Sev that he HAD to show up at his boat for a mandatory group thing. Just give the guy some space to breathe and digest what happened!
  • The new recruit Jimmy totally blew it! He came off like some stupid frat boy and that’s not what Firehouse 51 needs. I am glad he apologized in the end, but he will have to do some serious growing up. I am however interested to see if there’s really something going to happen between him and Chili – she definitely thinks he’s hot.
  • Will Halstead once more got to make an appearance and it makes me so impatient for Chicago Med! Chili and Brett had a really heartbreaking case and they asked for his help to find out about the fate of a patient.
  • The fire the firehouse had to attend to was something different too this week. I can’t believe those people are suing the firehouse even though they were the ones delaying them and causing the death of one of their neighbors. I was really disappointed in humanity on this one. I mean, how can they be so irresponsible?
  • I can see a lot of trouble for Molly’s coming because of the new neighbors

So, that pretty much sums it all up. What did you think?

Chicago Med Season 1 First Look

ChicagoMed_16x9_KA 2_NewLogo.jpg

Okay, so I did it for the new Seasons of Chicago Fire and Chicago PD, now I feel like I am obliged to do it for Chicago Med as well even though this is a little pointless. The promo basically just showed a lot of scenes from the backdoor pilot on Chicago Fire, but at least the date is set for November 17 this year! YAY!

There aren’t that many Spoilers and infos floating around, but I’ll try my best! The order for the first season consists of 13 episodes. I know that several crossovers with the other Chicago shows, as well as with Law & Order: SVU are planned for early 2016. Laurie Holden, who played Dr. Hanna Tramblen (and can still be seen on the right of the picture above) had to leave the show due to family reasons. I guess there won’t be any romancing with Will Halstead then, which means he needs a new love interest and it better be someone cool!

A couple of people have been added to the cast since the backdoor pilot:

  • Brian Tee has joined the cast and will play a resident who went into medicine after several tours of duty as an Army medic.
  • Colin Morgan (who we should all know as Tommy from Arrow) has also been added as series regular, but there is not much known about his role. He is possibly expected to be a pediatric doctor, but it hasn’t been confirmed.
  • Torrey DeVitto (from TVD and PLL) will portray a pregnant emergency room doctor named Dr. Lilly Manning.
  • (this one I found out thanks to Cristina @MyTinyObsessions who helped me out in the comments) Rachel DiPillo (Jane the Virgin) will be interning as Dr. Sarah Reese at the ER and is fresh out of med school.

I am super excited about the show, but it’s still too early to know what all will actually happen. I already know that I’ll be very invested in what Dr. Halstead is doing, simply because he’s Jay’s brother. Other than that I’ll be happy to let myself be surprised. Are you excited too?

Chicago Fire Season 4 First Look

chicago

Everyone who knows me, knows that I am in love with the Chicago Franchise. After the Season 3 Finale of Chicago Fire there are a lot of exciting things to be expected from Season 4, so I wanted to share the First Look and promo vid with you!

Disclaimer: I don’t know for how long those videos will be available! NBC has the bad habit of taking them down after a while …

So, there is not much new to be found out about our beloved Firehouse 51 guys and gals. Themes from the last season will continue: the tension between Squad and Truck is still on, Casey is in trouble, Gabby has a lot to think about concerning her pregnancy and Brett and Roman apparently hit it off. However, we do have new additions to the cast. 51 gets a new recruit played by Steven R. McQueen (who many of you will probably know from the Vampire Diaries). Also, Brian White will join the cast (previously seen on Scandal and Mistresses), but to read about his role I’d suggest going to the Spoiler section below.

Now, if you want some Spoilers:
I read that Severide will be demoted for some reason and that’s where Brian White comes in as new Captain of the Squad. During Sev’s management-training course he meets his new love interest (and here I was seeing sparks between him and Gabby … guess that’ll always just be in my head). It definitely means there is not going to be any Severide and April action though, maybe she’ll meet someone new on Chicago Med instead.
So, whatever Casey will be going through, will take its toll. He survives (yay! It’s something!) but he will be in a dire state afterwards. Gabby’s pregnancy might be the silver linings Casey needs to get himself together again. Yet, Dawson still has her doubts about them as a couple, so it won’t be that easy in terms of the baby just bringing them back together.

There’s still more than a month until the Season 4 Premiere in mid-October, but are you as excited as I am?

Chicago Fire Season 3 Finale

Let’s start by saying that I absolutely cannot wait until Season 4 … not after what happened last night. Chicago Fire was once again at it’s best, leaving us with a lot to think about until fall. Here we go with the review for the “Spartacus” episode (Spoilers ahead!).

The promo already had me in a panic. I was neither willing to loose Severide nor Gabby since those two are pretty much my favourites. Turns out my fear was unnecessary, but let’s go through it character by character and see what the Season Finale had in store for us:

  • Whenever Casey and Voight talk normal with each other, I still get that uneasy feeling because of their past. I just can’t shake it off, even though I love Voight as head of Intelligence on Chicago PD. Now that Antonio and Hank have talked Casey into working undercover, he already gets nearly discovered at the start of his “mission”. While everyone thinks he dodged a bullet, Nesbitt witnesses a talk between Casey and the guys from PD … we all know that’s no good. So while most people thought the person in danger would be someone trapped in the fire, it’s actually Matt Casey. Dawson finds poor Katya bloody (and probably dead) on his apartment floor with Casey missing. Voight better have a plan now!
  • The past weeks the tension between Truck and Squad has been building up. I thought we were so done with this topic in … I don’t know, like Season 1 but apparently we weren’t. Especially Otis has been riled up about the whole Scott Rice thing and when Cruz joins Squad he feels utterly betrayed. But no worries – the bromance didn’t hit a major rock because they make up by the end of the episode.
  • Herrmann and Chili still pursue their business idea for chilled champagne. It was the thing that finally made Chili connect with the rest of the people at the fire house and she and Herrmann seem to grow closer in their mutual quest. I would have loved for one of those funny business ideas to finally work, but some big company got the product on the market before they did …
  • Sylvie and Roman are starting a thing and I kind of dig it! Crossover romances are the best!!
  • Now … on to a bit of a controversial topic. I have no idea how to start this! Let’s maybe begin by saying that I am not against Dawsey as a couple, but they don’t really excite me. Ever since the show started Gabriella and Severide were my favourite people on the show (plus Shay … may she rest in peace) and I always wanted them to have more scenes together. I didn’t necessarily see them as a couple, but then again: wouldn’t that be spicy? After Shay passed, I saw them connecting a little more by investigating her murder, but the show didn’t pursue this any further. Now, I know they fight a lot, but I’ve always just kind of seen a spark there and I feel very, very reassured in my assumption after last night’s episode. Their near death experience brought them closer and even made them flirty with each other (Gabby saying “big, strong Squad-guy to save me” was epic!) and then that hug … I know that people still want Dawsey, but I’d be totally for a little Gabby-Severide-experiment. (April wasn’t really in the picture the past episodes anyway …)
  • Then the shocker at the end (… besides Casey missing): it seems Gabby is pregnant!! I knew it when she felt a little unwell at the beginning of the episode! That will mean a lot of change for her personally as well as career-wise. I’m looking forward to seeing how she handles it, especially without Casey. People probably love the idea of a Dawsey baby though!

So, I’m all set for Season 4 … already not liking the wait. What are your thoughts?
