August 2017 Book Haul

Admittedly, this post isn’t really necessary because I haven’t gotten that many new books, but oh well, I’ll do it anyway. As per usual, the books that have made it in the monthly wrap-up won’t be mentioned here.

  • Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling
I love Mindy and I really enjoyed her first book. I found this one as a hardcover and on sale, so there was just no way around me getting it.

eARC:

  • 27 Hours by Tristina Wright
It has been months since a publisher accepted my request on Netgalley and I honestly cannot tell you why. My follower stats are solid, my ratio was 100% before I got this book, I am just a little lost as to why I don’t get any responses at all on there. Then again, I am in a reading slump … so, there’s that.
Anyway, the book is pretty eventful so far (I am at about 40%), but I have heard mixed things and will wait with full opinion until I am done. Obviously I will post a review when I am done!

Did you get some new reads this month?

June 2017 Book Haul

Just because I am not actually into reading at the moment, apparently doesn’t mean I can’t buy books. Except for one, they are all ebooks though, because there is no way I am going to drag all of them across the pond when I go back home. As per usual, the books/comics that have made it on the monthly wrap-up won’t be mentioned here.

  • When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
This was one of my most anticipated releases of the year, so I couldn’t hold off buying it any longer, even though I really want a physical copy of this one as well. And I am saying this, even though I am not a fan of the color orange BUT THE COVER IS SO PRETTY!
  • The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
With all the fuzz around the show (which I haven’t watched yet), I just wanted to read it first and binge later?
  • American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Watched the show, fell in love with Mad Sweeney (seriously, A Prayer for Mad Sweeney was the most comprehensive of ALL the episodes … the finale was great too though) and then I needed more after the show was over. It will take me an approximate eternity to actually read this.
  • The Complete Poetry of Edgar Allan Poe
Lord of Shadows reminded of my love for Poe again. It was super cheap and has a neat cover, so I thought I’d take it with me on my travels.

May 2017 Book Haul

So, I obviously haven’t bought much, but I do have a couple books worth mentioning that I haven’t gotten around to reading yet. As per usual, the book/comics that have made it on the monthly wrap-up won’t be mentioned here.

  • To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
I got this one at the Jenny Han signing I went to a couple weeks back. I haven’t read anything by her yet, but I am looking forward to reading it. It’s my only physical book (comics excluded) that I have with me on my travels now.
  • Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
I actually have this as a physical book and an ebook. One is at home and one is on my kindle that I have with me.
  • Mindwalker by A.J. Steiger
I actually just bought this because I was approved for the sequel on NetGalley and it wasn’t marked anywhere that it was a sequel. Like … WHY? I sometimes wish you could cancel approvals or delete them or just do something.
  • Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab
This is my most anticipated release of the year. I pre-ordered it a while back. Again, physical copy is going to be delivered to my home address, while the ebook will be readily available on my kindle!

eARCs:

  • Mindstormer by A.J. Steiger

To All the Boys I've Loved Before (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #1) Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices, #2) Mindwalker (Mindwalker, #1) Mindstormer (Mindwalker, #2) Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity, #2)

April 2017 Book Haul

I am keeping to my resolve of not posting pressuring TBRs, however, I cannot really stick to my plan of not buying any books. I make regular detours to the comic as well as the regular book store and they never end well for my purse. As I’ve mentioned last week, I won’t add books/comics here that I already posted in my April Wrap-Up, because I don’t really see the point of having them on here twice. Let’s get started!

  • The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli
  • Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
    I am a sucker for movie-tie ins!
  • The Seafarer’s Kiss by Julia Ember
Technically I pre-ordered this for my kindle, but that’s only semantics.

eARCS

  • Windfall by Jennifer E. Smith
I am at 7% and it seems cute.
  • Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley

The Upside of Unrequited  Everything, Everything  The Seafarer's Kiss

March 2017 Book Haul

Since I decided not to subject myself to pre-planned TBRs for the month anymore, I racked my brain about which other way I could share my bookish possessions with you. Hence this post! In early March I showed you all the books I currently had at home, read for reading (you can check that out here) and I didn’t even get anywhere near reading them all. That, of course, in no way stopped me from getting a bunch of new ones. This book haul won’t include the books I already mentioned in my wrap-up (which you can read here) because I just don’t see the point of mentioning them twice. Anyway, here’s some other new stuff I got!

  • Geekerella by Ashley Poston
I am currently reading this gem and hoping to finish/review it today as well. Fingers crossed, but I am absolutely loving it!
  • Unfiltered by Lily Collins
I’ve waited for this book so long and now I haven’t even looked at it much. She chose a beautiful font style though!
  • The Ship Beyond Time by Heidi Heilig
It’s the sequel to The Girl from Everywhere, therefore a must read for me.
  • Waking Gods by Sylvain Neuvel
This actually just came on Friday as a little early surprise, because it wasn’t supposed to be released until this week. You definitely won’t see me complaining, because it’s my much awaited sequel to Sleeping Giants.
  • Lumberjanes Vol. 1
My addiction for comics has taken over my wallet …

Geekerella: A Fangirl Fairy Tale Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me. The Ship Beyond Time (The Girl From Everywhere, #2) Waking Gods (Themis Files, #2) Lumberjanes, Vol. 1: Beware the Kitten Holy

March 2017 TBR (or a random list of books that I own)

marchtbr

TBRs haven’t really been working for me lately, so, instead of making a fixed decision on what I am going to read, I am just going to show you all the books I currently have at my disposal. Depending on my mood, I will then choose what to read, hopefully taking off some pressure.

  • A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab
I will be reading the final book in the Shades of Magic series alongside Fadwa and Marie! We will jump right in as soon as we all have the book.
  • The Last Beginning by Lauren James
I wasn’t a real fan of The Next Together, but somehow I wanted to give the series another chance. Even if I won’t like it, it wouldn’t be a disaster, because it was super cheap.
  • Heartless by Marissa Meyer
I don’t know why this is taking me so long …
  • Caraval by Stephanie Gerber
This will hopefully give me Night Circus vibes, because then I will be blissfully happy.
  • Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman
I LOVE Norse Mythology so much!!!
  • Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
Film covers are my weakness. I’ve heard mixed things about it, but I just want to read it before I watch it.
  • King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard
This better salvage my opinion of the series or I will have to drop it.
  • Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick
Still planning on reading it with Cátia.
  • Walk the Edge by Katie McGarry
I do like the Thunder Road series, but it’s not calling to me right now.
  • Born a Crime by Trevor Noah
Trevor Noah is one of most awesome people out there. I’ve heard a lot about his past in interviews or his stand up program, but I cannot wait to read his entire book!
  • We Are Okay by Nina LaCour
I have not not liked a Nina LaCour book thus far.
  • The Stone House by A.K. Benedict
  • Joyride by Guy Adams
  • What She Will Do Next Will Astound You by James Goss
Those three are the Class novels … that I still haven’t read … I have no reasons …

And then I also have some eArcs I need to get to, which are the following:

  • Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner
  • Girl Out of Water by Laura Silverman
  • Stealing Candy by Stewart Lewis
  • The Librarians and the Mother Goose Chase by Greg Cox

I have even more books than that, but I know I won’t read those this month no matter what happens. This already gives me plenty of options! What are you reading this month?
